Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

My last 3 weeks have been very up and down. I really did think I was making good choices, got down to 10st 7… then up to 10st 11 a day later (WTF), and I’ve been 10st 9 quite a lot of the time - which is 2stone loss. This is my first real stall and I’d gone up to 10mg so I was hoping I’d kick things into action more than the previous month’s 1lb a week loss. Didn’t happen at all. Yesterday I moved up to 12.5mg and have had no side effects so far, but suppression is still not like it was at the start.

Fingers crossed for a woosh for us all this week!

🤞

I have convinced myself that Elevator by Trinny London is having an impact. I have used it twice a day for a couple of weeks. I have also used it with the Sarah Chapman roller a couple of times a week. Now I am not sure if it is because I gone from doing nothing with my neck and chin area to be religious about skin care 😂

It smells lovely.

Face being covered by Clarins

Rest of my body getting a regular smothering of Aveeno.

DH has never seen so many ‘potions and lotions’ 😂

My DH just rolls his eyes at the length of time it takes me to exit the bathroom morning and evening since lockdown and the appearance of the HRT and skin care regimes 😂

Morning everyone,
just to confuse you, its me ….., @lovealongbath

Weekly weigh in on 3.25mg dose..
SW 18st 4
CW 16st 0.1 lbs
1lb loss this week
total loss so far 2 stone 4lbs /14.5 kg

Collagen - I am adding Dose & Co vanilla creamer to my morning yogurt . I have been using for 6 weeks and definitely notice a difference. My nails are stronger and my skin looks and feels amazing,

I cycled 10 miles on Tuesday.
I am going to set a challenge that this week I will cycle 30 miles
and walk a minimum of 50k steps.

Well done to everyone on the great losses, we can do this 💪

MounjNewb · 20/03/2025 07:05

Being a fella, I confess to being a bit lost with the potion and lotion talk, but it is fascinating and my DW is grateful for some of the hints passing her way. Brownie points for me!!

I reckon she’ll be giving the Collagen a try next.

Just a slap of Nivea for Men for me when I remember…..

Aww I love this! Out of interest, how is your skin faring with the loss? DH has annoyingly firm skin with his modest losses (he’s losing a steady 1-2lbs per week via diet and exercise and has about 2.stones to go). I, however look like a candle left out in the sun..😩

Weekly update from me…

1.2lb loss this week (in fact since yesterday) annoyingly it was after a fancy London boozy lunch with a friend yesterday (tbf I did do my Pvolve and treadmill walk before going and achieved 17,000 steps for the day) She hasn’t seen me since I started this and REALLY noticed the weight loss 💪. She’s big into tweakments and so was interesting to chat to about all of that.

Today’s research is into HIFU. And that was because I saw an offer for discounted session with a non-doctor led clinic which I wouldn’t go to.

I am 2.1lbs away from the next stone bracket…🤞🤞🤞🤞

Once you start to respond to a thread, that’s your user name throughout that thread, but I will return to lovealongbath, in next thread.

Talking of baths, it is so much easier to get out of bath now.

@MounjNewb your post made me laugh.

KentishMama · 20/03/2025 07:42

I'm just trying to psych myself up to step on the scales... But I've stalled big time, so I am feeling the urge to procrastinate to avoid seeing the same number yet again.

I'm currently on 3.75 mg every six days, as 5 mg gave me such bad side effects. But suppression isn't very strong on this dose, so it's all hard work. I'm tempted to go up again, but I know it's a big risk, and Prof Endocrinologist told me to go down.... What to do, what to do... I'm jealous of anyone who can hack the higher doses! 😂

You can only manage what you know… so off to the scales you go. I’m also in a period of static weight that feels like the month of January itself ….looooong. You’ve got this. 💪🏻

Love the bath update 😂 its amazing how the losses make day to day tasks easier! Effectively we’ve been lugging our weight around with us, it’s like putting down a dumbbell 😂
good to hear positive things about collagen - I was definitely late to that party!
@MounjNewb glad the potion chat hasn’t scared you away
@KentishMama good luck with the scales, you’ve got this 💪 sorry you can’t tolerate more. For me I felt awful post jab for 8 weeks then it magically stopped. Hope you become more tolerant to it, but even small doses do help so keep going x

I had 11 weeks at 2.5mg, 3 weeks at 3mg, 2 weeks at 3.25mg, talking 3.25mg today.
In the past 5 weeks since increasing to 3 -3.25, I have lost 5.5lbs, approx 1lb a week, with no side effects at all, reasonable suppression but also using a degree of will power as this has to be sustainable in the long term for me.
Everytime I am tempted to eat something I know I shouldn’t, I stand and physically question myself, What’s more important, wasted calories on chocolate or a drop in the scales. If I choose chocolate, then I question, a whole 200 g big bar of chocolate or 1 after eight . An after eight satisfies my chocolate craving and the mint cleans the palate as I am so aware of my mounjaro dog breath.

You can do this 💪

I took 6.66mg last week and have lost 1.1kg

SW 90
CW 72.1
total loss 17.9kg

my original goal weight was 70 but I’m going to go a bit lower. I think I have about 6kg to go but will see how I get on with my next pen. I’ve got a 7.5mg pen so who knows it might get me to target!

I’ve been good on the exercise front this last week and I’m feeling good for it! The lovely weather has definitely helped me up my steps! I’ve been averaging 16.6k a day for the last week

also I think that rain makes me crave comfort food like buttery crumpets and lots of carbs. When it’s sunny I am ok with fruit and salads 😂

am still mindful that the week before was stressful and busy and that led to snaccidents, this last week has been better which has been reflected in my lifestyle choices. Maybe I need to live on a zen island and not work 🤔

Great losses @Della82 and @Mounjaropenthose post drinks whooshes are annoying but lovely too. Hope you’re not too dehydrated today.

Wednesday is usually my bad side effects day, yesterday wasn’t so bad, had fatigue and burps but not the full body painful ones. Don’t know if I’m adjusting to 7.5 or if moving the injection site worked but I’m a lot happier than last week.

Spring in the air really does help with the food and walking and seasonal depression

Della82 · 20/03/2025 08:48

@KentishMama I always look back at my total loss over the last 4 weeks as that helps me see progress if I’ve had a sticky scales week!

keep at it, you’ve got this!

RayonSunrise · 20/03/2025 09:23

Morning all! I’ve not been around as we’ve had a lot of family stuff on and my MNing has been heavily impacted. So pleased to see all the milestones, and also chuckling to see I’m not the only person suddenly worrying about Ozempic face! I was going to ask how the LED masks were doing, but now I’m looking at marine collagen at H&B…

I’d stalled on 5mg for a month and Lloyd’s Pharamcy suggested I go up to 7.5 for this last pen, which has really moved things on. I’m finally back to a healthy BMI (!), albeit at the top of the range. So I am keeping on keeping on, but very, very happy to no longer be overweight.

Height: 5 ft 10”
SW: 93kg (14 stone 6)
CW: 78kg (12 stone 2)
GW: 65kg (10 stone 2)

Am keeping an eye on that goal weight. It was my steady pre-pregnancy weight in my 20s/30s, but I am mindful that I may no longer look good that slim without getting into expensive tweakments, which is a route I’d really rather not go down. Exercise & a maintenance dose is my goal, though the former has been rubbish, as between a bereavement and getting plantar fasciitis my running has been set back considerably. I’m building up walking again with the help of some good orthopedic insoles, and stretching my feet & calves daily. Thinking about water aerobics as a low impact alternative, but all the classes seem to be during the work day and VERY in demand. I’ll have to sharpen my elbows to get into a class one lunchtime.

That’s a decent result cut 🙌 I think some months feel way longer than others. I have a folder on my phone for weight loss selfies. I take them to see how I look and yesterday I compared myself in a particular gym set to a photo I took in January and I was surprised to see that there was more than one stone difference in the pictures which it doesn’t really feel like!

Well done on those losses! I used to suffer from plantar fasciitis but I have found that the incline walk has resulted in me not suffering from it at all. I have done a couple of fast starts this week to the incline walk (I have run oh .5 miles at 6miles an hour followed by a day of .75 miles at 6mph) and have noticed that the feeling of it starting again in my feet has returned. So I guess I’m not ideally suited to running anymore! that said, my fitness levels are way better than whenever I did run and I’d rather be able to exercise consistently with a lower impact activity than being able to run. Intermittently. I do have a set of firm massage balls in my pvolve set which seemed to alleviate the symptoms the past couple of days. Hope you tried rolling your foot over a tennis ball?
