Does anyone use the shotsy app? It's quite interesting watching the levels of mounjaro rise and fall in your body.

No way - I need to get this!

Truetoself · 27/02/2025 10:28

My Mounjaro is currently in the fridge. I don't siffer from food noise. Exercise at least 4 times a week. I am still overweight likely due to peri menopause. I am wondering if Mounjaro will work for me. I know I can use to find out but am worried about the nausea and fatigue

sweetpickle2 · 27/02/2025 11:06

Today is a big test for me- I normally WFH as does my partner, but he's gone to the office today (which he rarely does, maybe once every 2-3 months). Not only am I a binge eater, but I am a secret one, and historically with a day alone in the house I would have eaten hugely excessively- biscuits, crisps, bread upon bread upon bread, frozen food, maybe even ordered a takeaway for lunch.

I don't want to do any of those things today, but the situation has made me think about it. Not in a "I want to eat/I'm thinking of crisps" way more in a "this situation is normally when I would do this" way, which has subsequently made me think of crisps etc. It's the ritual/habit I think- and even without the food noise I think it will take a while to shake some of those. I will be strong though!

Currently on 2.5mg about to start week 3.
Need to order the 5mg and as with Med Express worried about the delays. Noticed cost had gone to £149.

Anyone getting the 5mg cheaper elsewhere?

Weight loss after 2 weeks 8lbs.

IQDoctor second pen for £114.29 including shipping, if you check https://monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/ they have the monthly discount code. Really easy to move from MedExpress

hilbil21 · 27/02/2025 11:34

Hi everyone - took my first dose on Tuesday. Still not sure I'm suffering from much suppression and I'm still thinking about what I'm eating and at what time. But will persevere! Prescription provided from Oushk as I suffer from lipodema. BMI is 28.8 so I am overweight - hopefully it helps me lose a bit of weight too.

hilbil21 · 27/02/2025 11:38

flipflop76 · 27/02/2025 09:41

So since my first jab yesterday at 4pm, I've had some light nausea and woke frequently in the night but otherwise feel normal. Still ravenous and craving chocolate and crisps! Will see what happens....

I'm glad to read this in a way - because I'm surviving on willpower at this point (day 2)

WLINewbie · 27/02/2025 11:42

Week2, Day6

TOTM started today, usually the week leading up to it I can't eat enough sugary stuff. I could eat a packet of biscuits as a snack then loads more later so its been lovely not feeling that.

Over the years I've seen the words 'you have to retrain your way if eating' again and again and again. I've always thought how the f do you do that???? If I could do that I would!!!! I'd go to bed asking myself why did I let myself eat all that??? Why have I put chocolate and cakes above my own health and wellbeing? Mounjaro is making me think I'm maybe not the greedy monster I've always thought I was.

Suppression has been higher this week, still eating decent calories and having my sweet treats but not to excess and I'm properly enjoying them.

Feeling good although (and this is meant lighthearted) there's nothing more humbling than looking in the full length mirror when you feel good and you still look like a potato 😂😂😂.

The only downside so far is I've noticed a new type of anxiety/dread, heightened at work and whilst driving. I've been quite nervy driving recently. I have always suffered from a bit on anxiety but not this specific and nothing uncontrollable. I've read some other posts about this.

Hey everyone! Just had my first dose this morning

How much of a calorie deficit is best and does anyone have slimfast shakes alongside? Just a note to say it’s for breakfast as I’m not a fan of breakfast

how much exercise is everyone doing?

Thank you 😊

Hersetta427 · 27/02/2025 12:07

3 weeks in here (or will be at the weekend) and 9lbs down. haven't seen the huge numbers I see bandied around but I guess that's OK too - show and steady wins the race. Am meticulously tracking everything and I weigh everything that goes onto my plate so I know I am sticking to around 1100 calories a day- some days less than 1000. Food noise still gone and suppression mostly good. Not sure whether to keep on 2.5 or buy the 5mg and do 3.75 doses as a stepping stone.

Took my son to a premier league game last night and its normally our pre-game routine to go for chicken and chips at a fried chicken shop opposite the ground . We still went, he had his and instead I took with me and ate a protein bagel thin with tuna and sweetcorn during the game. I did nick a couple of chips though (which I then recorded in my nutracheck app).

Question:
I do the jab as per the leaflet, keeping my finger on the button for 5 seconds at the end. Then I remove the needle. There is always a drop of the MJ at the tip of the needle. Is that normal?
The drop looked quite big to me this am

I get this! Apparently it is normal. I had a fair bit come out last time so am going to press a bit harder next time!

Work out your calorie deficit on the James Smith Academy free calculator. It will give a protein target too. It’s a good and accurate tool.

I wouldn’t do shakes and would just eat breakfast later and make sure it’s protein rich

Mounjaroday · 27/02/2025 12:15

@FlutteryButtery2 I’m not doing much additional exercise yet, apart from a couple of 2 mile walks. Some people on here are doing amazingly with the exercise though.

Keep meaning to do some body weight stuff but just haven’t yet. Tsk tsk. Must try harder!

If you google TDEE calculator, you can pop in some very basic info and it will give you your maintenance calories and also your cutting calories, as well as protein, fat, carb goal.

I’ve been re-doing mine at each weigh in to make sure I’m not eating more than my cutting calories.

OntheTrainX · 27/02/2025 14:27

On the exercise question - I do quite a lot. Four gym/weights sessions weekly and at least 12k steps daily. I’ve been doing this for years. It’s the reason why my starting BMI was 32 and not 42 tbh.

I now eat around 1900 calories a day. I lost 8lbs (I guess mostly water!) in week one and a further 3lbs in week 2. Hopeful for 1-2lbs per week from now on. Current BMI is 30.5.

I need to eat more protein but otherwise I think I’m doing ok.

Sarahyorks · 27/02/2025 14:33

I'm currently on week 3 and so far have lost 13.6lb, I started off needing to lose 3 stone.
Iv just ordered some syringes for the '5th' dose I'm just wanting to know is it easy to do, guess I'm kinda of apprehensive of injecting myself with a proper needle 😀

Laughing at the "looking like a potato" that’s often how I describe myself lol.

I watched Oprah’s show about the weight loss injections last night on Disney plus. I could have cried, it’s so true I’ve spent my whole life feeling like my lack of willpower around food makes me a weak person and beating myself up wondering why I can’t just stick to healthy eating, it’s nice knowing it’s a biological issue, a chronic health condition, and not my fault.

Had my 3rd dose on monday. Not feeling any side effects other than constipation and occasional diarrhea but equally not felt many benefits yet.

Second pen 5mg in the fridge already and will go up as soon as I can.

Have still somehow lost a couple of kgs even with having a few bad food days.

Thanks for this. I couldn't find the info. I have messaged med express hoping to price match.

If migrating to a different supplier, will they just prescribe the higher dose as in I need 5mg in a week or so or do I have to go through the application again?

HappyPie82 · 27/02/2025 15:22

@IzzieadoraDuncan they had a questionnaire to fill in and then i had to upload pictures again and a copy of prescription or the box with my name and the injection details. Approved in 2hrs so easy and they seem to have a discount every month

Thanks so much. I didn't get a prescription as such, did it all online and threw packaging away. I wonder if sufficient I share with them that med express emailed me, suggesting I apply for my next month's worth?

My weigh day is monday but I usually have a bit of movement in the week as I weigh every day. I have started doing weights so I know inflammation can skew the scales as they've stayed the same since Monday.
Not sure I'm eating enough. Went on the James Smith calculator and it said 2064 cals which seems too much, I'm hitting about 1200-1500. Some days less. But surely I'd lose more???

Yes, it's great isn't it! Good to keep track of injections and injection site, weight etc.
