@Littlebitpsycho That's like me. I can eat 2000-2200 calories a day and still have a 1000 calorie deficit. A combination of being very large and having an active job and hobbies for me.

I am making the most of it! As I get lighter I will burn fewer calories and therefore my daily allowance will reduce. So rather than immediately dropping to the least amount of calories I am easing myself in to it.

debwillloseweight · 26/02/2025 10:59

Feeling torn as to what to do next.
Did week 4 jab of 2.5 on Monday. I've been doing every 6 days coz I want to jab on Saturdays.
Suppression has been great so far, no snacking sticking to my calories, decent losses.
SW 262.4
CW 252.2
Total loss 10.2lb

Debating whether to do the golden dose this Sunday and stick at 2.5 for another week then go up to 5mg the following Saturday.
Or
To miss the golden dose and do 5mg
Decisions decisions

Zibb · 26/02/2025 11:00

Also rapid weight loss is a surefire way to end up with lots of muscle loss, hair loss and, the worst of all, gall stones.

I once lost 3st in 8 weeks on a VLCD and ended up with gallstones and they are the most horrific pain I have ever felt, worse than toothache and childbirth combined.

tweetypi · 26/02/2025 11:08

@debwillloseweight I'm in a similar position to you and I'm going to do the golden dose- hoping to get more than a single dose out so maybe closer to 3.75

Ah yes good point. If I can get more than 0.6ml then it will be a decent step up!

Thank you to whoever shared and recommended the Oprah podcast, was really interesting and makes a lot of sense! Well worth a listen

Strudie · 26/02/2025 11:54

I’m on W3D2, it’s been a rocky few days. I managed to get a same day GP appointment yesterday because I have severe pain in my back and side and white chunks (sorry TMI!) in my urine. He said I could stay on the medication but I needed to drink a lot more water, and it’s likely I might have kidney stones but to wait and see😐I’ve been really really bloated on top of this so weight loss has slowed right down, but I am so close to onederland! 0.2lbs to go.

sc0ttishlass · 26/02/2025 11:57

@Zibb i had gallbladder removed in covid times - worst pain i have ever experienced and also had children and toothache - at points I thought I honestly couldnt go on - so would echo your comments - better to lose the weight slowly than risk these!

Romanswindowcleaner · 26/02/2025 12:34

I can lose weight (and am losing weight now) eating 1900 cals a day. I maintain my weight at 2200. Once I eat over 2500 I start to gain weight (so I have been eating a lot of food and wine to become overweight). I’m 5’7.

Itsbathtime · 26/02/2025 13:19

So - in case anyone wondering about keeping dosage low - thought I’d just update that I have been on 1.25 for last 2 weeks following pretty bad side effects in w1 at 2.5- I’ve now lost a total of 10 pounds on this very reduced dose. It definitely doesn’t block hunger and have found at various points I’m quite hungry - and probably could go astray - but I get full quickly and feel like I’ve got a willpower ‘boost’ so haven’t yet. I quite like how it doesn’t feel THAT different from normal - and as though it would make it easier to come off it eventually if I can lose the weight without the total suppression? Not sure whether the willpower is due to the drug or just feeling positive that I will lose. In the past I’ve often tried hard to lose with little result. I am still feeling side effects though - so I must be very sensitive to this drug. Tummy still grumbly most mornings - and often feel queasy. So don’t dare increase yet - will do 1.25 again for 4th dose - really hope side effects subside - not sure it’s worth it to feel yuck for months: though it clears by early afternoon and then I feel great and think it is definitely worth it!

Mounjaroday · 26/02/2025 13:38

Have actually been feeling a little nauseous today (day 1 on 5mg). Drinking water has helped (thank you to pp’s on here who have mentioned it can alleviate the side effects) and it’s not stopped me from going about my day - still rushing about.

I didn’t have this feeling on 2.5mg so will be interesting to see how I get on with slightly higher dose over next few days.

So close to being under 15 stone!! Absolutely determined to get there before Friday!!

@Mounjaroday I just messaged and then saw your updated post. I start 5mg on Saturday and I’m feeling pretty apprehensive about side effects.
Hope you feel on top form quickly

ExplodingCarrots · 26/02/2025 15:59

So it's a 1lb loss for me this week . I'm having my usual battle with the scales . I done a test and weighed everyday and I seem to lose weight Wednesday- Sunday and from Monday - Wednesday it gradually goes back up. I'm well within my calorie deficit and making sure my food is nutrient dense . I'm also hitting steps and exercising. So I'm a bit stumped . BUT it's a loss and I'm seeing the difference in the mirror and in my clothes .
I'm also noticing suppression starting to wear off quicker so I'm looking forward to starting 5mg next week.

SW - 190lbs
CW - 183lbs
Total loss - 7lbs

flipflop76 · 26/02/2025 16:14

OK first dose done! I was shaking! Didn't feel a thing but it really gave me IVF flashbacks! Now so nervous about any gastro side effects, praying it's not bad!

Umm this thread seems to have been moved into the 'Weight loss promo codes' topic?! Why? @Mounjaroday any ideas? I can't work out how to report it to MNHQ...

Edited

That was me and I've apologised. I can't delete it either. It won't happen again.
I'm new to Mumsnet really and usually just watch but I'm invested in this so have tried to join in. Please
Don't make me feel unable to make mistakes as I need the support, and if you can report the post to have it taken down that's great.

Hey @alwayshavebeenfemale do you mean you posted a promo code? Don't worry if so, lots of people have done! MN usually just delete the posts concerned, not sure why they've now moved the entire thread to a different topic but it won't be because of you!

alwayshavebeenfemale · 26/02/2025 17:26

Oh gosh! See what I mean? I've no idea what's going on around me! Sorry anyway and please forgive me in advance of my next mess!

Hi all, just checking in.

W1 D2 for me so only just started. Was so nervous about side effects but so far not much except for a really dry mouth, anyone else had that?

Ive definitely not felt as hungry and have pretty much halved my portions as I was full. My portions were pretty big so that’s definitely a good thing. So impressed about the lack of hunger pangs. Even though I feel like I could eat biscuits, I know im not hungry so I’m trying really hard to focus on that and make good choices. So far not so bad!

fortyfix · 26/02/2025 17:43

I am finding quite rumbly today even though I woke up with total suppression this morning! (W2D2)

I don't know if it's hunger or something else causing me to feel empty and rumbly?

Is it food noise?!?!?!?

Febnewbie · 26/02/2025 17:43

Non scale victory yesterday - without even thinking about it, I sat down and crossed my legs, something my thighs have been too chubby to do for a while

Yes. A really dry mouth. At first I thought it was the amount of plaster dust in the air, but I'm much better today and the house is still dusty ...
