November ‘24 Starters Thread 7 - The one where we might need smaller smalls 😉

1000 replies

Mounjaropen · 06/02/2025 08:15

Welcome to thread 7 to MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we move beyond the looooongest month and into February. Love is in the air for our new smaller selves and discovering clothes we use to wear ❤️

I’m on W14 D4 and on my third 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 9.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 29.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I know a lot of people have said about feeling the cold more, but is anyone suffering from Raynauds-like symptoms? I keep getting numb and very pale tips of my fingers and toes, not something I’ve had regularly before, am assuming it’s to do with the jabs somehow as it’s only started in the past month or so. Its really annoying!!

Research herbal therapy Ginkgo Biloba for Raynards, it might help your circulation
However don’t take if you are on blood thinners .

Thanks for this - will have a look at that now! No blood thinners to complicate matters

I had my first ever experience of this just this last weekend - horrible. My DW has suffered with this for a long time (not MJ related), but I've never had it before.

The cold thing is the one MJ side-effect that persists - the insomnia bit has faded, but I am still relentlessly cold!

W14 D1 for me also - weighed yesterday and back on to my 1.5-2lbs and 0.5" off the waste loss trend. Phew!

At my mid-week weight low point last Weds (after 3 days of decent suppression), I was only 0.5lbs off seeing a 10 at the front of the scales. I expect it may appear this week (and will definitely whoop at that!), but it will be fleeting as away with friends for 3 nights this coming weekend and there will be indulgence.....

Really enjoying seeing the new me shape in the mirror and am starting to get comments. Have now started exercising, particularly to build muscle back - hoping that this, with continued 5-7mg dose will drop me to target over the next month (4-5lbs to go).

Going to start looking at switch away from Simple Online Pharmacy - they have no sustained maintenance option at the moment and basically say you have to stop taking MJ once at target weight. How have people found the transfer over to Oushk?

well done on the losses! Awesome!

I've found a hot water bottle in the bed keeps me warm and encourages sleep.

@random223, the targeted ads on my phone showed me these earlier on Notino and I thought of you: https://www.notino.co.uk/beauty/?f=1-1-44128-77223 There are a few perfume ones in there.

I’ve just gone to order my third 5mg pen from MedExpress and they have come back to me requiring confirmation of my current weight as there is a ‘notable change’ since my last check in. I haven’t ordered since before Christmas as I did an early order to ensure there wasn’t any problems with delivery over the festive period so there probably has been a big loss but over a decent period of time. They have also asked for further details re my injection schedule, protein intake, any side effects/dehydration… this actually feels quite reassuring, and that they aren’t just auto-prescribing repeat customers.

lovealongbath · 10/02/2025 14:52

I’m with MedEpress at the moment and I agree with you, I’m reassured that they are taking a bit more interest.

jay55 · 10/02/2025 15:32

How do you answer about protein intake? I try but fail to reach my target most days on protein.

I said that I focus all my meals around protein, which is true. I try to hit my target but sometimes fall short - I think that’s pretty normal though.

lovealongbath · 10/02/2025 16:27

a guide for protein intake is ….

Between 0.8 to 1g per kg body weight. If exercising then more.

I am 103kg so aim to eat about 103g of protein

I take this almost daily in 1 form or another
yoghurt 6g
100g pistachio nuts 20g
2 boiled eggs approx 10g
grilled chicken breast 54g
U fit protein milkshake 20g

total 110g

murraymcgill · 10/02/2025 16:40

Hi has anyone an idea where and what I need for the 5th dose like what size need I need ? Thanks

StarShapedWindow · 10/02/2025 17:09

@MounjNewb Welk done on the amazing weigh loss!

I’m With Simple Online Pharmacy and tried to move to Cloud because they had a maintenance plan but couldn’t understand how to access it. I emailed them and said I wanted to join for the maintenance plan and they sent me a generic email explaining how the maintenance plan worked 😣. So I’m non the wiser and as I get further towards my goal weight I’m getting more concerned I’ve left it too late.

Ill try Oushk and see if it’s more user friendly

murraymcgill · 10/02/2025 19:29

Got appointment to see my surgeon in April I'm so chuffed

Cantbesure · 10/02/2025 19:36

That's great news @murraymcgill
Did you mean what needle to buy or how much to take? I get these ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk
A full dose is 0.6mls

lovealongbath · 10/02/2025 19:57

Today, I had an appointment with a chiropractor. My initial consultation was 90 mins long and involved X-rays of my spine.

Because I have been overweight/obese, for 20 years plus, carrying the extra weight has caused the midsection of my spine to shift my pelvis forward and cause the spine to curve inward at the midsection but outward at the top which is giving me a stoop and makes me carry my head too far forward. My back muscles have been forced to bear the excess weight so lots of tension and area that are very tight.
The next 7 weeks I have an intensive treatment course planned. Some of the damage can’t be fixed, However, with treatment , an exercise programme and further weight loss, I will hopefully become slightly straighter than I currently am.

StarShapedWindow · 10/02/2025 20:02

@lovealongbath that sounds incredibly painful and uncomfortable. I hope your intensive treatment course makes a massive difference - let us know how you get on.

Pumpkinforever · 10/02/2025 20:04

That sounds positive @lovealongbath

i guess anything we lose going forward must have some benefits in the long run. My dentist said she has a surprisingly number of patients are on WLI and thinks that we are going to save NHS quite a bit in the future.

Arglefraster · 10/02/2025 20:05

I've just done a re-order with oushk & the form been updated & got me quite confused 🤦🏻‍♀️
Plus the monj.co.uk list seems to be wrong & there's only a £10 discount (rather than £15 that they list) 🫠 only on 5 & it's getting expensive!

You're going to be taller soon @lovealongbath !! That'll bring your bmi down 😃

murraymcgill · 10/02/2025 20:34

@Cantbesure hi thanks for the info so I've got a 7.5 pen any idea what I do I haven't a clue

Cantbesure · 10/02/2025 20:37

There will be videos on YouTube but essentially you use a sterile syringe. Remove the own lid and clean as usual. Stick the needle thru the red seal and withdraw the last dose. 0.6ml of your pen is a full dose. It's like taking calpol out with a syringe. Make sure there are no air bubbles and prime like you do the pen. Good luck.

Cantbesure · 10/02/2025 20:38

*pen lid not own lid

Cantbesure · 10/02/2025 20:53

@Arglefraster I'm thinking of moving to oushk for maintenance, the FB page still has oushk15 as a £15 off code for February. I'm also tempted by medicine marketplace as the prices are very good but want to be with someone with flexible policies as I'm getting closer to a healthy BMI.
