November ‘24 Starters Thread 7 - The one where we might need smaller smalls 😉

1000 replies

Mounjaropen · 06/02/2025 08:15

Welcome to thread 7 to MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we move beyond the looooongest month and into February. Love is in the air for our new smaller selves and discovering clothes we use to wear ❤️

I’m on W14 D4 and on my third 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 9.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 29.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Took my first 10mg dose on Thursday. On the loo all morning today 😐 I hope this stops soon. Although might help with weight loss which is as ever incredibly slow.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Valentine’s day. I didn’t think my husband was doing presents so he got nothing but he bought me some chocolates.

I know I sounded ungrateful but it’s the last thing I wanted! I would rather have had some flowers!

Oh dear. Think some of the DH’s here need a spot of retraining too 🤔

Weigh in day tomorrow it's my worse nightmare 😫

15 courses and drinks 😂 I am imagining a cross between the Ab Fab scene of Eddie falling drunk out of a car and Kate Moss staggering into a hotel

Edited

Not gonna lie, I fell out of the Uber at the end of the night. With hindsight, stopping for gin slings at Raffles after lunch was not entirely necessary 😂

You’ll be relieved to hear that it was not 15 drinks with the 15 courses. The food was insane and I managed it all - beautifully constructed tiny plates of food with incredible taste. I think being on MJ has really retrained my brain to enjoy food rather than just shovel it in!

Has anyone else really plateaued? I’m stuck on 170lb pretty much since Christmas. I feel like that’s my new ‘set point’ and my body is really fighting back.

I’m eating very little. Unable to finish a full lunch portion.

I wonder if I should up my calories/ protein and also exercise a lot more than I do now and see what that does?

I didn’t eat/ live very badly before, my diet and lifestyle was quite healthy, so going into MJ hasn’t been a huge change for me in terms of a complete diet and exercise overhaul. The meds have just helped my efforts to actually have an effect, and make further improvements, eg drinking lots of water now that I’m thirstier

Lost 10% of my body weight in about 2 months, it just dropped off, but now I’m stuck.

Are you doing any weight bearing exercise? Are you tracking your body shape? You might not see a shift on the scales, but I doubt the tape measure has stayed the same?

Weigh day here too! Down 0.6lb. Not bad considering I ate out a lot this week and have been rubbish at exercising!

👏👏👏 a loss is a loss

Weighing in.

W14D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:17st 3lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 2st 6lb

Trudging towards the 16s still and really hoping to reach them by the end of the month.

I had my bloods taken earlier for glucose measuring, so those should be interesting results. She checked my blood pressure while I was there and all good and in the normal range, although it doesn't seem to have come down yet.

I'm out for Galentines tonight, with some filthy burgers and cocktails. 15 courses, @Mounjaropen , fucking hell!

Let us know what your bloods revealed (if you don’t mind?) I was thinking of asking my GP for a full blood screen. I’ve not had my thyroid checked ever and would like to be reassured about my liver function now I’m on MJ. Anyone asked this of their GP?

I went back to 3.75 mg after a rubbish week on 2.5 mg with zero suppression and zero weight loss. Fingers crossed my body can handle it - but I feel semi confident as I only hit intermittent side effects once I was on 5 mg.

In positive news: I'm currently on my way to the airport. Canary Island bound. I can't wait to see the sun...

Oh nooooo! I hope it stops soon. I had this two weeks ago. 5 days of diarrhoea. I dropped down a dose the following week, and I feel like it's taken my body this whole week to behave normally again.

I have had my thyroid tested before and was gutted that it was completely fine and I couldn't blame any of my weight gain on it!
Are you of an age where they do the sort of MOT testing? I had my 40+ blood tests a couple of years back, which were mostly fine, which is always reassuring, but flagged some vitamin deficiencies, which were good to know about. I don't know if that's a regularish thing they do post 40 though.

Saturday weigh in and a stall week. Hit my first goal of 10 stone last week and I think I’ve mentally struggled to go past that as 10 stone is what I’ve managed to get to before. For the last 5 years I’ve gone between 10 and 12 stone multiple times.

so here I am still at exactly 10 stone and I’ve eaten a few sweets and struggled to not self sabotage this week.

Time to get into a good headspace for food and exercise this week as half term.

New lemonade dolls smalls I ordered last week were lovely, however the smaller boobs still didn’t fit into the GG/H cup. I need to decide whether to return them or hold on in the hope they fit in a month or so.

40 was many years ago....😂I might just ask for a 50+ check up ;-)

Weigh in today a day early as I'm also jabbing a day early. Another kilo off. Have lost just over 18 kg since I started on Nov 2. Feel like I've been getting hungrier this week and haven't been able to resist treats at work. Also has a steak dinner out and a couple of glasses of wine ( bad week).
Off on a mini break tomorrow hopefully to see some blue sky (hence I jabbing a day early). Look pretty terrible as most of my summer holiday clothes are now too big. Have ordered a few smaller things but I don't like how they show my shape. I'm used to hiding under shapeless baggy things. I don't feel at all confident despite everyone saying look really well and amazing. I feel like not really me.

Does that sound stupid?

Congratulations on another amazing result! The last time I lost that amount of weight was when I was a teenager, and it took me many years to get used to being slimmer and to see myself without judgemental eyes. I look back now and wish I had realised how lovely I looked. It will take time to find your new style in your new body, but please don't wait years like I did, to start enjoying this incredible achievement. Your friends are telling you that you look amazing, believe them. You can build up your new wardrobe over time, but your happiness and confidence will shine through if you let it. Enjoy your holiday!

My neck is all turkeyish 😢

5 stone down but my neck is gross.

jay55 · 15/02/2025 20:46

My neck is rubbish too, and my upper arms. Hardly any wrinkles on my face, all on my neck.

MsRumpole · 15/02/2025 20:59

Trinny London has a product called Elevator for tightening the skin on the neck (haven't tried it but worth a look?)
