Where are all the Wegovy folks?

It seems to be very Mounjuro heavy on this board?

Would love to hear from those on Wegovy. How have you found it? How much have you lost?

I'm starting on Monday (getting my first month's supply Monday afternoon!)

That's some great losses already 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

As I've been unwell this week I've no idea what's the wegovy and what's tonsillitis 😅 but I've had terrible reflux!

I'm going to delay today's injection until tomorrow evening - I should take my last dose of antibiotics first thing tomorrow morning. I know they don't interact, but my body is feeling crap from the antibiotics.

Crunchymum · 08/02/2025 11:48

Hope the AB have done the trick @FedUpandEatingChocolate and hopefully next week you can focus on good wholesome food if you start to feel hungry.

I've had no appetite suppression yet. But only a few days. I had a family takeaway party yesterday and was wondering if I would feel nauseous eating pizza and chips and cake and ice cream... I didn't 😭

I know its hailed as a "wonder drug" but I am most disappointed it didn't immediately stop my hunger and chop a stone off the scales 😂

On a serious note, I've had to be very mindful about food this week as I've had no hunger suppression at all.

I wonder how long is does take for the suppression to kick in though? 🤔

Crunchymum · 15/02/2025 07:40

1 measly lb this week. Urgh I'm so disappointed.

I've had no hunger suppression but I've been really mindful of my food choices this week.

2 weeks and 4lbs is crap considering how much I'm paying. I'd expect 4lbs if I was going it alone.

My period is due and I am in the 12st bracket (just!) instead of 13st but I'm not a happy bunny.

Wondering whether to cut my losses after the first pen and just try Mounjaro?

Im on month five of Wegovy at 1.7mg. Over the 5 months I have lost 10kg and am now looking to taper off/go cold turkey. It was a slow start weight loss wise but now on the higher doses it’s dropping off a bit too quickly! The side effects at 1.7mg have also been the worst with lots of stomach troubles and sulphur burbs.

my weight loss has been amazing over the last few weeks and I'm only in 0.5 I'm terrified already of coming off it!

Tbh if I were you I really would. I found MJ much better all round really and it would be a quick switch.

Loads of people sharing their codes for MedExpress £40 off too and then you'll get one to share which will hopefully get used a lot and you'll end up getting them free like I did.

Good luck either way.

I could have written this! I’m only on day 10 but my appetite hasn’t been even the slightest bit suppressed. I wasn’t expecting miracles but I thought I’d notice some change.

I’ll stick with it for now and increase the dosage to 0.5 next month to see if that helps.

Fingers crossed it picks up for you @Crunchymum

thornbury · 15/02/2025 13:26

I've done 4 weeks on 0.5mg and have lost 8.6lbs. I've started another 0.5mg pen then I am going up to 1mg when that is finished. Given that I have finally managed to get back to the weight I was last summer, after months of tiny losses and bigger gains, I am ok with the rate of loss (yes, more would be nice, but this is such an easy way to do it!)

FedUpandEatingChocolate · 15/02/2025 17:22

I'm almost back at my starting weight 🙈

Oh no! What happened?

FedUpandEatingChocolate · 16/02/2025 12:44

@thornbury I lost a lot in the first week as I had tonsillitis as well! So I think this past week has been a bit of a bounce back, I'm trying to be a bit more mindful now.

CagneyNYPD1 · 20/02/2025 13:13

An update from me. Week 21 and finally up to the 2.4 pen. Has been a slow journey thus far but today I finally pushed through the 2 stone loss.

And then a minor miracle happened. I have a pair of jeans that have been in the wardrobe since 2019 that just about fit back then. But in recent years wouldn't even do up...

I tried them on to see how close I am to doing them up. They fit. They flipping fit me. No breathing in. No muffin top. I had to double check that I had got the right pair. They bloody fit.

The scales may not be showing the numbers that I would like to see but by goodness this was the encouragement I needed.

The only person in rl who knows that I am taking Wegovy is my DH. So I had to come on here to share. They bloody fit!!!

Crunchymum · 20/02/2025 16:46

@CagneyNYPD1

Oh wow, an excellent "non scale victory" for you there. Wear your jeans with pride 🙌

21 weeks and 28lbs isn't bad at all. I'd be happy with that. Slow and steady and consistent. I hope your 2.4mg pen is the magic one but it sounds like you're well on your way?

OP posts:
CagneyNYPD1 · 20/02/2025 21:24

Thank you @Crunchymum. I think I'm just having to get my head round the fact that slow but consistent weight loss is the right way to do
It.

How's it going for you? Has the appetite suppression started to kick in?

Crunchymum · 21/02/2025 09:35

Not having the best week.

Appetite wise I suppose I'm less hungry? Definitely snacking less but when I do eat I still inhale my food like I've not eaten in a week.

My arthritis has flared horribly this week and I'm barely able to walk at the moment. I've been well / medicated for years but came off my meds in January as they'd been making me nauseous.

I will get moved to a new medication but it will be 'starting from from scratch' so baseline blood tests / several appointments etc and to top it off my pain relief medication isn't on repeat so my GP won't prescribe it. So I need to get an appointment (which if course there aren't any left today) to get it prescribed.

Add to this middle DC and DP came down with a tummy bug on Wednesday its been a shit week.

Scared to even weigh myself tomorrow 😫

OP posts:
Crunchymum · 21/02/2025 09:49

Sorry for my tales of woe @CagneyNYPD1 😂

I flit between thinking slow and steady is the best way to wanting some big losses. I know I still need to put in the hard work (and I'm not sure I have this week? I have been using MFP and still hitting 1500 cals but there has been no exercise at all. I usually walk a fair bit!)

It's also been time of the month so I think I'll just write this week off.

One more week on 0.25 and I have my 0.5 pen already.

OP posts:
Dky4 · 21/02/2025 10:39

I'm on week 3 and no appetite suppression. I was super strict week 1, almost killed me but I lost weight. Week 2 fed up and ate. Gained weight back to ground zero. Hey ho. Roll on week 5 plus

FedUpandEatingChocolate · 21/02/2025 12:11

Slow and steady is definitely the way to go.

I don't think it helps that those on mounjaro are losing weight so quickly! But I remind myself that this is much better than fast weight loss, and much much easier than dieting without wegovy.

My appetite has definitely reduced, but I've also felt sick with it. I've lost interest in food and cooking. I have to work hard to eat protein and veg, it's too easy to eat carbs.

I've got another 0.25 pen, which at the moment feels like the right choice, but I'm sure I went feel that way in 4 weeks!

Crunchymum · 22/02/2025 07:55

No loss this week and I'm so dejected and disappointed. Not least as I've already purchased my next pen.

4lbs in 3 weeks. I have lost more than this on my own.

Totally fucked off at this point.

I have definitely eaten less this week. I got my period early on in the week so last weekend should have been my "bad" weekend.

I can't really understand it. I've been totting up my food in MFP and have ranged between 1500 - 1200 cals. Definitely closer to 1200 cals the past 3 days. No carbs yesterday. What the fuck is going on?

I actually want to scream!!

Very frustrating but the higher doses will have more effect. 0.25 doesn’t do much for many people. Keep the faith.

Thank you.

I've decided I'll move to MJ if I've not seen a difference by week 3 of the 0.5mg pen.

I know I need to put in the work but I can't help to be disappointed.

Well done on your jeans @CagneyNYPD1 that's amazing.

Last Sat was end of week 4, I weighed myself and had lost 10.4lbs and lost 23cm. This Sat I am 0.3lbs heavier so now sitting at 10.1lbs in 5 weeks (with 1.8lbs lost before starting this - I am counting from 1 Jan). I am on 0.5 but will go to 1mg after finishing this pen.

Those of you saying MJ is faster, I watched a YouTube video by a couple who have called their channel Downsized. They are both on MJ, she has lost about 50lbs and he has just reached 100 (he had more to lose) and they averaged their loss and it was 1 point something pounds a week each. So, not significantly more.

Crunchymum · 22/02/2025 16:01

10lbs in 5 weeks is amazing.

4lbs in 3 weeks is rubbish. And I'm still pouting about it.

Will try harder next week.

OP posts:
Crunchymum · 08/03/2025 12:13

How is everyone getting on?

I've had some health issues (autoimmune condition has flared, I had suspected DVT and spent 4 days last week in Urgent care / at my GP's!!). I'm still mid flare and quite frankly not feeling it at all.

I lost a measly 4lbs in 3 weeks and had such a crap week food wise I've not even weighed in today.

I did however start my 0.5mg pen a few days ago but only as I'd already paid for it before I got poorly.

If no joy in the next 3 weeks I'm going to stop and move to MJ.
