Well done @KeepingUndercover. It's great to set sight on your final goal. Half your weight is an incredible achievement!

BlackFriYay · 14/05/2025 07:01

I too have been hammering vinted 😁

I've sold every size 12, 14 and 16 item of clothing I owned and now have a very extensive bordering ridiculous great collection of beautiful garments in sizes 6 and 8.

I'm getting lots of compliments from other mums (and the head of year yesterday) when I do the school run. It's a wonderful feeling.

I've got just under half a 10mg pen left (counting clicks to 6mg which is my fortnightly maintenance dose) and one final unopened 10mg pen in the fridge for when this one runs out (which I'll then be counting clicks on to give me 5mg a fortnight)

This is what maintenance looks like for me and its going well, I just need to remind myself to make better choices now the hunger has crept back in with lower doses spread out.

I see Oushk consultations have a long wait atm which is a bummer as I was planning on joining them for longer term maintenance, true to form (bloody ADHD) I kept putting it off and off.

I'm at a bit of a crossroads now because I don't want to go cold turkey once I've used up my pens but at the same time know its unlikely I'll be accepted by other pharmacies at my current BMI (22 I think!)

KeepUndercover · 14/05/2025 10:30

I've done a bit of Vinted shopping but I struggle to get the app to show me stuff I like so I've not hit it too hard. I did have a stack of stuff I was going to sell but I lost enthusiasm so ended up taking it to the charity shop.

Wonkypictureframe · 14/05/2025 10:52

.I tend to search on stuff in brands I like in my size. I've had some big successes and some stuff that is quite hmm but none of it has cost a lot so it's not too bad. I've got a cardigan that is a totally different colour to what I thought, and it's clear from the listing so not sure what I was thinking, and I may just resell that, but out of everything I've bought, one outright reject isn't too bad.

Flapearedknave · 14/05/2025 11:11

I haven't bought much, as I still had my old clothing, most of it never worn (I would always buy the size I wanted to be, rather than was, it was stupid). Pretty collectif pencil dresses and trousers being a main staple in my wardrobe now!

And not being a fashion follower as such, I have a style, (think tan wide leg trousers, oversized white dress dress shirt and tan suspenders, that's today's outfit, and had a lot of compliments)😂 I think I look cool 👀

But I'm on vinted selling some stuff.

It's shoes I'm struggling with! Not size or anything, just what shoes I like and fit my look. I've always loved a heeled pump and have one style (Aldo Atlantic I think they were called) in many colours! But with my wobbly legs it's not always a great idea. But I mostly sit anyway, so maybe I should just do it 😂 and I can blame the MS instead of the wine!

ThirdStorm · 14/05/2025 12:15

@KeepUndercover I'd be persistent as I find the "recommended for you" section brilliant now, as it really uses all my searches very well.

KeepUndercover · 14/05/2025 12:27

I think one of my issues is I'm not sure what brands I actually like as when I was a size 24 most of them weren't available to me. So it was "find what you can from Yours/Next/Simply Be". Also it seems determined to keep throwing Lucy & Yak at me when I searched once for dungarees that were not even for me.

I'm not sure what I want to wear or where I want to shop! Currently I have a lot of Uniqlo stuff just because they do good basics. But their colours are a bit meh and I'd like some nice summery trousers in interesting colours/patterns.

Wonkypictureframe · 14/05/2025 12:36

And there's the fact that you can afford more exciting brands on Vinted than you might consider normally, so the choice feels endless!

Thebaldprimadonna · 15/05/2025 17:19

I am back in the MJ room!

MJ hadn't been working for me despite being at 15mg, so I agreed with Oushk that I would take a break. I managed about six weeks and then recently begged them to take me back.

The bad news: I lost 3 stone 4 between the end of Feb and early Dec (mostly in the first four months) and put back on 1st 3 of that (over 50% of that in the seven week break, so MJ was helping even when I thought it wasn't).

The good news: I restarted at 2.5mg on Tuesday and I can already feel the difference. It feels almost like it did when I started but minus the nausea

I have learned my lesson. No more breaks and I will just have to keep paying for this wonder drug. I think it's fair to say that I need to be on this for life!

ThirdStorm · 15/05/2025 19:25

At least you tried @Thebaldprimadonna we really are the trailblazers figuring this out. I thinks it’s very insightful what you said about it helping even when you thought it wasn’t.

Yes, I think that the food noise suppression had gone, but MJ was still helping my body to cope with glucose better. The weight seems to have piled on my stomach!

Everdecreasingcircumferences · 15/05/2025 20:28

Evening All

Another 2 weeks of gaining and losing the same ounces, but am sure 8 weeks from now I'll have lost more weight.
Am still hitting the gym (which costs more than MJ 🫣😬) and my face is looking thinner. According to the body scan I have gained over 1kg in muscle mass since the start of April and reduced my visceral fat significantly, and best of all my metabolic age is younger than I am (only just!). I am so, so close to a normal percentage of body fat, it's really motivated me to keep pushing on.
Not made any more Vinted purchases yet, I don't want to wear the same stuff I used to as now it looks frumpy on me, and with a large bust and plenty of junk in the trunk it's still hard to know what size I am. Matalan generally puts me at a size 12, but the bikini bottoms I ordered are too snug so hoping the 14 fits better (still can't get over how I look in a bikini, and being able to buy a Matalan bikini set for under £15 rather than over £50 for Bravissimo or Pour Moi is just brilliant). I probably am still mainly a 14 as I find Matalan (apart from the bikini briefs) run a bit large. I reckon I'll be a size 10 by the time I finally reached sub 25 BMI.
I do want to keep buying clothes though, hard to stop when I've a whole wardrobe to replace and it's so lovely to see how things fit now. Some of my old tops still look good, they're just oversized now rather than a snug fit.
Peri has got worse this week, with my first experience of horrific flooding (apologies for TMI). If it wasn't for MJ I would have curled up with a bar if chocolate for the 3 days of feeling very faint, instead I just had more herbal teas and the one hot chocolate. Definitely still helping me stick to sensible food decisions, not just managing portion size.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/05/2025 10:11

It’s all gone a bit tits up for me since my wedding at Easter. I’d been on around 5-6mg until a couple of weeks before the wedding when I went back up to 10mg. I’ve gone back down to the smaller dose and I’ve put on over half a stone. This morning I was just short of 10st which is bmi 24.2 ie not far off overweight 😧
I’ve been eating the same meals but had relaxed the strictness with treats and had some shortbread, chocolate etc.

Although it hasn’t changed the fit of clothing much, I can tell my thighs are bigger and my stomach looks huge.

Despite all this I’m having issues finding clothing. What’s with the awful oversized fit to clothes now 😭. They just don’t suit me and although I’m around a size 10, size 6 Next dresses are too big for me due to the oversized style. I’m also fed up of the shit people pass off on vinted as new/nearly new. I’ve even had clothing that’s been washed with the tags on so they can say it’s new with tags 😂.

I promised a photo of my wedding dress a while back so am adding it here. It was a bit too big as the corset couldn’t pull it in any further. I looked much slimmer without the lace top but I couldn’t bear having my bingo wings on display. Also adding a truly awful photo pre-MJ when I was size 20 for comparison.

I am back on the wagon too, but for maintenance rather than weightloss. I had a pen left from last year expiring and had put on almost half a stone since starting ADs, but to be honest I expected worse after a seven month break, winter maliase and starting ADs. I used the pen up and lost about 9lbs, but managed to get a maintenance plan so I can manage to maintain.

I'm being really good still with food choices and exercise, and feel like I've gained some muscle back I lost last year. I am on the tired side though, but hope this will be a bit better after eating for maintenance again. I haven't really had any decent time off work which is busy at the minute too, so don't think that is helping.

Bit gutted to be needing maintenance due to cost. I hope Eli Lily manage to bring out a cheaper tablet version soon. I'm definitely peri now as my cycles are changing, and I really need my health since I'm a carer at home as well as needing it for my work and mental wellbeing.

Overall I lost nearly 3 stone. I don't think I've given myself much credit for that because of using MJ.

FlappyFish · 16/05/2025 12:21

So so much I want to post and I’m between work calls. Instead I will tag the wonderful @PissedOffNeighbour22 and tell you that you look bloody lovely. I’m so glad we got to see the dress.

A lot of comments on maintenance and clothes will be coming. I may even log in on my laptop to write a proper bloody essay!!

Moanranger · 16/05/2025 15:51

I am now 3 weeks post shoulder op. I am slightly above my initial goal. As the op means I cannot drive, I can’t get to gym ( though I couldn’t do much anyway ATM) am bored, reading, TV. The op also took it out of me, I think (2+hrs GA). Official goal weight is 66kg, but I prefer a bit lower, 63.5 and I got down there before op. It’s mostly lack of exercise & a bit of boredom eating that’s caused some weight gain.
I am with Oushk, and have been maintaining on 5, but I plan to go up to 7.5 for my next pen, & drop the 2.5kg, then perhaps resume maintaining on 5. My plan is to start driving this weekend & get back to gym by the end of the month. I am sure I can do enough exercise to get my condition back. I was exercising like mad before op, so I should rebound to previous condition quickish.
All dressings off ( surgeon used steri-strips -amazing!) not needing a sling, but shoulder is a bit achy and not much strength. I am starting to push it a bit more, think I a ready. (I had a reverse shoulder replacement, 3D printed joint, ‘nother story)

Welcome back @Thebaldprimadonna !

You look gorgeous @PissedOffNeighbour22 like two completely different people!

KrankyKumquat · 16/05/2025 17:22

Well, nice to see some updates from other old timers! Must say I'm pretty much off MJ related SM now; too much drama, unpleasantness, jockeying for status, and a bit boring if I'm honest but this place still feels like my people 🥰.

My news isn't particularly exciting. Maintaining well at 4mg from 10mg at highest, sticking with 9st7lb after losing an extra stone at the start of maintenance, bmi just in 20. I'm afraid I'm spending a fortune on clothes, and not from vinted! I'm enjoying clothes shopping too much to go cheap...For the first time in my life I'm a comfortable size 10 - I moved from children's clothes into Evans and men's stuff back in the olden days so never got the dopamine hit of trying on normal, nice clothes and them fitting. It's fab.

I'm finding maintaining weight ok, 4mg seems to be my sweet spot. Good appetite suppression but able to eat more when i do eat. I am still having to be very careful to resist dropping further though - this is probably the hardest part. But I feel really well in myself. I paid to have my bloods tested as I was concerned i might be a bit malnourished but everything came back great, so that's a relief. Just battling constipation which is odd as not something I had when losing weight.

Other than this, I've no news but always enjoy reading everyone else's when there's a burst of activity on here.

ps. It's a year today since I had my first jab - i never imagined I'd be here, 6st lighter and nearly 40% of my body gone.

xx

AgathaMystery · 16/05/2025 17:33

Hello all - nice to see some familiar names! God when I think about all we went through together this time last year!!

I am on my last couple of doses of my 15mg pen and need to re-order. I’ve got 3 codes from Oushk which don’t work & no one answers my emails. I don’t suppose anyone has a friends & family code for med express they’d like to DM to me? Agh. £200 for a pen feels way too much!! Wish I’d ordered more back in December.

I'm off on holiday next week. My 3rd since I hit a near normal BMI (am BMI 27 now) but I just think back to how I felt:m/ looked last year on this same holiday. Shocking.

KrankyKumquat · 16/05/2025 17:43

Hi @AgathaMystery
I don't know what's happening with Oushk at the moment - so many people reporting issues with getting a response when things go wrong. Grown too big, too fast I suspect. I've been really lucky up to yet but I'm slightly nervous given I'm a lifer. I've heard WhatsApp is better for getting assistance, maybe try that? I'm feeling the maintenance plan is not quite what we were sold (support as needed, regular video consults, etc) so hope things improve soon.

AgathaMystery · 16/05/2025 18:22

Actually kind of reassuring to know I’m not alone!!

Wonkypictureframe · 16/05/2025 19:48

Yes, I’ve always WhatsApped Oushk and got a response. I do find them pretty chaotic though - the admin is pretty ad hoc and doesn’t always make sense. I’d try somewhere else but pharmulous? had a bad website and I can’t sign up for a consultation and I’m not sure where else.

@PissedOffNeighbour22 you look incredible!

I’m finding the crowing threads on here about how inevitable weight regain is very depressing. So staying away from the rest of the site.

Soukmyfalafel · 16/05/2025 20:05

I have ordered through Pharmulous and got approved quickly. I put in a BMI below 25 too as it is for maintenance. I just needed to send a picture of my prescription and a picture of myself and driving license/passport. Didn't need a phone consultation. I think they thought I was dropping down from 7.5 (I am in a way as i was on just above 5mg with a pen I got last summer and was using up before expiry) and they approved 5mg, which I think will be about right for me to maintain. It was £140. Not bad, but I haven't go it yet! Will report back.

ThirdStorm · 16/05/2025 20:17

@Wonkypictureframe there was been a steep increase in regain posts. I’ve maintained since January but since then I’m 5lb heavier. It’s gone on and off a few times but currently on! Worried I’m creeping already. Holiday in 2 weeks too!
