@Femeia
When you need new codes, just drop them an email with a little update on how things are. They send them out very quickly. No need for another video consultation unless you feel you need one.

Femeia · 04/05/2025 13:30

@KrankyKumquatbrilliant, thanks so much. I know the appointments aren’t easy to come by so it helps not to have to keep booking them.

Femeia · 04/05/2025 14:54

Something else I’ve realised in the better weather is that my beloved Fitflops no longer fit - the straps of the flip flop part are far too big and there’s nothing I can do! More for the charity shop.

FlappyFish · 04/05/2025 18:32

@Femeia I’ve also gone down a shoe size. My espadrilles from last summer in a six are flapping. Now a size 5. Boots are fine with socks, but any flats I have needed new.

imnottoofussed · 04/05/2025 19:18

Can someone explain to me how oushk works as I do probably need to move to them. I have just started a 15mg pen I already had and have a 12.5 and a 10 to use up before I would want to see what sort of dose I need for maintenance. Will they let me order without evidence of a recent prescription if I wait until I’ve used those ones? Or do I sign up with them now without getting a pen and let them know that I’m using some pens up?

Flapearedknave · 04/05/2025 20:09

Thanks all! Went well telling the kids.

Having a glass of wine tonight, in celebration of that and the bank holiday ❤️

KrankyKumquat · 04/05/2025 20:33

@imnottoofussed
If i was you, I'd get a maintenance appt booked as you won't get one for a couple of months as they're so busy. Hold on to the boxes for your stashed pens and make a note of the dates you start each one - this will suffice in terms of proving your past medication (or print off orders from emails from your prescriber). Then, between now and your appt, if you're titrating down, you'll have a good idea about what you need for the next 3 months. But don't stress too much about doses after then - you'll get 3 discount codes which you can use for the same dose or drop down - as long as you're not getting dangerously near to bmi 19, you're OK to experiment with dose and calories. They expect people to carry on losing for the first month or two on maintenance or put a bit on so it's very flexible. If things change in that first 3 months, you can order via the online consult but put an explanation on it - I've never had an order questioned and never really committed to maintaining on the first dose or titrating down, it just sort of happened as I learned how to balance things (it's taken nearly 6 months!)

imnottoofussed · 04/05/2025 22:04

@KrankyKumquatthank you for the explanation. I’ll book an appointment with them and see how I get on between now and then

ObsidianTree · 05/05/2025 08:19

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis @Flapearedknave. I have been seeing information about how MJ can help those with MS. So being on it already might be helping and could help long term.

Glad telling the family went ok

Just dropping in here as I know everyone on here knows the situation with maintenance well. I was on the March starters thread last year.

I maintained quite well until I started antidepressants at the beginning of the year. I didn't get back to being overweight, but it was creeping up and felt more hungry. I've been using up an old stashed pen that was due to expire (was refridgerated), and lost the 7lbs I gained again, but it has made me realise that I need this long term if my weight is going to maintain. I'm eating decent food and exercising, iIt is just that it makes me hungry and my portion sizes are creeping up. I don't want to give up on exercise to keep my hunger in check. I just want a low dose to maintain.

Is it possible to go to a provider for maintenance after a break? My last prescription was June last year. My BMI is healthy at the moment, especially after losing the 7lbs, but I'm wondering if I'm a year after my last prescription I won't be able to access maintenance. It seems a bit unfair that I don't get it as an option simply because I was one of the first users.

Wonkypictureframe · 05/05/2025 18:02

I’d talk to Oushk. They say they recognise this medication is for life, essentially, and seem understanding about different situations. They’d need to see your prescribing history I’m sure but it’s worth a shot. Their own flexi plan lets you go up to 12 months off meds before they discharge you if you’re not being prescribed.

Ok, I know it has been said before, somewhere on the other threads, but why did nobody warn me about how hard it is to shave my armpits? I used to have flat armpits, and I thought that was normal. I now have to try and get those hairs, through the fear of cutting myself. The only saving grace is that I am so cold all the time, so I sweat much less than I used to. Seriously, any tips would be very welcome.

Notsuchafattynow · 10/05/2025 17:25

@spamm laser hair removal is what you need.

I had my legs, under arms and bikini done. Game changer.

Notsuchafattynow · 10/05/2025 17:27

The weather is so lovely 😍

I had to do an emergency shop at Sainsbury's to get some shorts and vest tops. Sat here feeling very smug in my size 8's.

ThirdStorm · 10/05/2025 20:58

MedExpress have changed their price match policy. You can only request a price match (against a very short list of competitors) up to 7 days after an order. The last few months I’d been doing it ahead of an order so I didn’t have to go elsewhere to get it cheaper. I guess it’s all part of them tightening discounts up. Interestingly after 12 months I’ve been asked for an ID and BMI check, BMI was just full length photo no scale picture. Let’s hope I look BMI 24!

Vinted has been my savour, replaced all my shorts ready for holiday. And I was able to give my too big but perfectly good condition shorts to my grateful friend! 🥰

only problem is Vinted has ruined me, I can’t go into a shop now as I’m all like “I’m not paying £30 for that, I’ll look on Vinted”! 🤣🤣

Wonkypictureframe · 10/05/2025 21:05

Haha! Me too.

Choux · 11/05/2025 00:33

Haha! Me three. Tonight I have replaced my two pairs of summer chinos with three pairs of the same style same brand but two sizes smaller. I lucked out and found a seller on Vinted with three pairs in my size and short length which cost about the same as one brand new pair would be. I hope I am still as happy when they arrive!

ThirdStorm · 11/05/2025 07:26

I’m glad it’s not just me! I’ve got quite good at sourcing exactly replacements of the same item just in a smaller size. And absolutely at a fraction of what the original item cost me!

guestusername · 11/05/2025 12:42

Some of you may remember a long while ago that I posted about having bought a Ted Baker dress off Vinted that was my aim to fit into…

i have been trying on a load of stuff for my upcoming holiday and it fits! It’s going in my case!

Love that ❤️

Wonkypictureframe · 11/05/2025 15:38

Amazing! Have a wonderful holiday.

DH is cross with me, and I am probably cross at me, for having an ‘I’m so fat’ moment today. I just look at myself in the mirror at the moment and see loads of bulges.

FlappyFish · 11/05/2025 20:04

Me four on Vinted. It’s so much easier buying clothes now.

@guestusername great news on the dress!

@Notsuchafattynow yep, I feel smug too.

did just eat a magnum though. Was lush. I don’t care, it’s within calories and I was in the gym for 8am!

Defunctlyric · 12/05/2025 12:46

I am going mad with Vinted..........initially I was saving money but now its costing me a bloody fortune as I just cant stop clicking!

I also keep buying size 8 because thats my idea of very slim. Actually everything Size 8 have bought is various degrees of too big! Still wearable but too lose.
Realistically I should be buying Size 6 or even Size 4 but I cant bring myself too as it seems so wierdly unlikely!
A year ago, getting to a size 12 was my idea of slim heaven, now 12s literally fall off me ..

Despite that, I just cannot get my head round ordering Size6!
Forced myself today (any excuse) with a pair of jeans and its given me anxiety!

In other news, I work in the same school as my daughters. I dont see them much but pass in corridors etc. My youngest tells me that her friends say " Your Mum is slaying her outfits", which apparently is a good thing! I am a young teen fashion icon😂. Thank you Vinted!

I've finally broken my most recent goal of 65kg, 64.3kg now. I've been dancing around 66kg for ages so it was a relief. I have set my final goal now of 60kg and then I aim to maintain. That'll be half my starting body weight gone which is insane.

It's definitely harder now, lots more willpower and actively making healthy choices required. I don't mind that too much as it's nice to feel a bit more normal. And there's still plenty of effect from the medication, it's just not so much of a sledge hammer.
