What a year! Brilliant that your markers are all so down.

KrankyKumquat · 11/03/2025 13:00

You'd be surprised @Wonkypictureframe . It really started to shift when I hit healthy BMI, it started at 34% so it's not a long range.

My BMI is 21! I doubt I’ll ever get thin enough to have acceptable SC fat. I just hold fat sadly.

KrankyKumquat · 14/03/2025 09:58

@Smallsalt
Fantastic. Happy anniversary!
Sorry, I can't remember but are you maintaining on the meds? Any issues with getting prescribed now you're under BMI 19? I'm struggling to stop losing (still), despite halving dose and a bit concerned about how prescriber might respond (I added a few lb when I got my last pen!). Absolutely relate to what you say about the mental side - it's hard.

Sorry @Wonkypictureframe , I'm hopeless at remembering where different people are at! That's really annoying though when you're at such a good BMI. I'm betting you look fab though - you'll have kept some curves, whereas I'm a bit 'boxy'!

No, I have no curves (in the right place). All the weight still sits on my middle and I lack a waist or boobs. I mean I am way thinner and not at all unhappy with my overall look - in clothes - but my stomach fat has been with me all my life and doesn’t appear to be shiftable.

Smallsalt · 14/03/2025 10:33

I am still on it for maintainance. I over stated my weight a tad right from the start anticipating the cutting you off issue so gave been consistent. I also have a bit of a stockpile.
Its scary how little you need to eat just maintain. I don't think I could do it on my own😳

ThirdStorm · 14/03/2025 10:39

That’s an interesting take on reducing inflammation, I agree I don’t have half the pains I normally have, although that might be down to eating less sugar?

@Smallsalt i worry about doing it myself too, I’m coming up to a year, I’ve maintained for 3 months and have a small stockpile. I plan to keep going until at least Christmas.

KrankyKumquat · 14/03/2025 12:25

@Smallsalt Its scary how little you need to eat just maintain.

Yes it is. My BMR is now nearly 300 calories less than when I started, at 1300 so I know I've got to at least cut that amount down which I think is quite a lot in a day to lose. It also seems like a very fine line between gaining and losing over a day, I'm still not finding the balance very well, hence still dropping. I'm amazed how much impact a very small dose still has.

Notsuchafattynow · 15/03/2025 09:24

@KrankyKumquat

How did you drop down? I am still on 10 since start of Jan and have maintained easily on this.

I am barely eating much more to maintain, so worry dropping lower will make it harder to maintain.

I don't know whether to just accept a life on 10 and keep the other benefits I get from mj. (Skin, joints, clarity of thought etc)

Wonkypictureframe · 15/03/2025 09:47

My PT has made the excellent point that my SC fat percentage is exactly that, a percentage, so to get it lower the solution is not to lose more weight but to gain muscle.

KrankyKumquat · 15/03/2025 15:51

@Notsuchafattynow
I took it really slowly so counted clicks to reduce by 1mg every couple of weeks, then spent 4 weeks at 5mg (all out of 10 and 7.5mg pens), then down to 4mg with 5mg pen. Tbh, it's not been hard - still got good appetite suppression, no temptation to overeat, just noticed I can eat a bigger portion at evening meal. I've been doing OMAD every other day and that seems to be easier than it was pre-MJ.

@Wonkypictureframe yes, that makes sense. I've definitely lost a ton of muscle

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/03/2025 09:22

@KrankyKumquat bloody hell, all green! Well done.

I haven't noticed any weight loss since increasing to 7.5mg a month or so ago. I've been craving more though and yesterday I would have killed for a large bar of peppermint aero.

It's a month to my wedding now and I've had to replace my dress. I altered the original by two sizes but it's just not right so I now have a corset back size 12. At the bottom it's too loose as my bum and hips are so small but it is really tight round the chest. The first thing my DP said when he saw it on was 'you look really thin'.

ineedmoresleepnow · 17/03/2025 12:21

I'm still here too but just had a mega catch up. Nice to hear everyone is still getting on well.
I have completely reduced dose down to nothing now and managed to maintain around my lowest weight plus a couple of pounds for the last month. Its a bit daunting thinking of no more mj if I am honest but I was ready to stop taking it.
It's a full year since I started last week and never did I think I would do this well, 55 pounds lost in total.

FlappyFish · 19/03/2025 08:27

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I am not surprised you had to replace the dress! How far you have come.

I am still gym bunnying away and have Pilates this morning. Progress is also happening on the boob job. I just need to kick my last vice of smoking. :(

And I need to address my shopping addiction. Just because it all fits doesn’t mean I need it!!

KeepUndercover · 19/03/2025 08:37

I am struggling with motivation a little bit. I missed last week's dose because I was trying to time it out around some things I had on and didn't want to have side effects for (not social eating stuff, just work stuff). Some weeks I'm absolutely fine and some weeks I still get a bit of sickness that feels just like when I was pregnant.

I'm so close to being a healthy BMI but part of me is just bored! I definitely I don't think I'm going to end up chasing the numbers lower and lower. I want to lose another half to a stone and then I am done.

ThirdStorm · 19/03/2025 08:49

I've been struggling too! I was sick last week and I definitely didn't lose my appetite! I snacked on a range of foods I don't normally eat and was not very healthy. I think MJ stopped me to some degree so whilst I ate things I shouldn't, I didn't eat as much as I would have pre-MJ. I've nipped it in the bud this week and eaten fairly healthily/calorie counted and I'm back into my goal weight range. It felt a bit out of control. I do wonder if it is also boredom, my meal plan is fairly similar each week. Maybe I need to mix things up!

KeepUndercover · 19/03/2025 08:58

I quite like doing something like Gousto if you're stuck in a meal plan rut. Chance to try new recipes without thinking too much about it.

I'm quite interested in my own psychology at the moment. I have always been overweight and now so close to the goal I'm losing the desire to keep going. There's some stuff going on there I'm sure.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 19/03/2025 09:07

@FlappyFishglad you're still doing well with the exercise. I still haven’t managed to get on with it.

I’m buying too much too and really need to stop. I won’t even wear half the stuff I’ve bought and I’d promised myself I wouldn’t overbuy when I reached goal weight. Massive fail 🫣

KeepUndercover · 19/03/2025 09:57

I need to do some more shopping. All my trousers are falling off me again. I was delighted to have a pair of size 12 White Stuff jeans I ordered fall off me, even though I can recognise that they were definitely generously cut. I went and bought a pair of size 12 jeans in H&M instead. I was a size 24 this time last year.

KrankyKumquat · 19/03/2025 10:15

@KeepUndercover
Yep, me too. I've just done my 3rd wardrobe clear out and it was very sad to have to let go of 3 pairs of Columbia and Berghaus shorts and some size 14 Mantaray cargos which have been too small for years. Over winter, I've missed the short window of time when they would have actually fitted 😪. My new size 12 knickers are also a bit baggy. My top size didn't really change much at first so I was persevering with lots of my old shirts but even those look a bit ridiculous now. So I reckon I'm now size 10, down from a size 22 this time last year.

snoopymcsnooperson · 19/03/2025 10:19

I just injected my first dose! Mixture of excitement and nerves now waiting for any side-effects or results 😊

snoopymcsnooperson · 19/03/2025 10:21

Oh I’m sorry, I just realised this is for starters from 2024 not 2025 😂

Wonkypictureframe · 19/03/2025 10:43

I hit my lowest ever weight yesterday (only by a pound but dipped to 8.13 which felt a bit momentous - back up to 9 today!). I still think weirdly that I'm bigger than when I first finished MJ but that isn't actually true. I think it's probably part of my own inability to really see myself as thinner.

KeepUndercover · 19/03/2025 14:07

Hopefully with time you'll start changing that image of yourself @Wonkypictureframe. It's hard to shift though. Especially I think when people around you are used to you a different size. If we all moved and got new jobs I wonder how different our view of ourselves would be?

Femeia · 19/03/2025 18:59

I’m struggling to be as good with food as I’ve been in the past - I wonder if I’ve started to get used to the medication and it’s becoming less effective? That said, I had such a busy couple of days that I didn’t really get to eat and I’ve dropped a couple of pounds. I’m all green on Renpho apart from subcutaneous fat which is 27.9%. I don’t know what it needs to be to be green. My BMI is 21.4.

i am still loving the thin feeling but am getting quite fed up of being cold all the time. Does anyone know if this is likely to go away once my body adjusts? I wouldn’t want to be back at my old weight again for anything but would love not to need multiple layers and heated blankets all the time.

ThirdStorm · 19/03/2025 20:26

@Femeia I’ve not had any issues feeling cold these past few months at goal weight (BMI 23.5). But I’ve been on the very low dose of 2.5mg the whole time?
