Thinking of starting weight loss injections

how much weight have you lost

how long did it take to notice a huge difference

Also what type of injections are you currently taking?

4.5 stone however have gained 3 lb over Christmas 🙈
Anyway, that's from April, absolutely life changing, but hasn't been easy as I have suffered with side effects on MJ, they are manageable though!

What kind of side effects If you don’t mind me asking?

I'm starting at the end of the month,

I have 5at to lose currently I'm 14st 12 and size 18-20. I was never this heavy at 9 months pregnant!

I want to get back to where I was 10 years ago. I look terrible in photos, my stomach, arms and face look huge. I can't wait to lose it all.

Calorie counting I'm hoping I can get a hold on.

That’s amazing! After you have got to your weight you’re happy with are you coming off it?

Thank you. It’s going to take me a long time as still stones to lose. I’ve not thought that far ahead but it might be a because I clearly struggle maintaining after previously losing over 7 stone and regaining it all a few years later. Hoping that this time is the last yo-yoing weight. 🤞

FlappyFish · 08/01/2025 20:40

I’ve lost 5 stone. 14.3 to 9.3.

I am 5’7. Size 16 to 8.

On a maintenance dose. Started exercising in August. I swim, do weights and Pilates each week.

Finally feel free.

I have stage 4 Endometriosis, 27cm cyst attached to my ovaries plus endometriosis inside my C-section scar.

That shouldn’t stop you using it, you’re advised against when you have things like gall bladder issues, or on drugs that are contradictory. If they think it will benefit you by losing weight they should be fine with it,

Lovethesparklylights · 08/01/2025 20:55

Mounjaro started July, was size 22 and have lost 31kg so far and size 16 now. I'm 5 foot 9.
My blood sugar is back in normal range, T2 diabetic. I have more energy, more sleep, feel freezing all the time, still on 10mg dose as its still working on that dose, I do an office job and no exercise.
It's totally stopped all craving for food, treats. If I do eat something like crisps I feel nausea.
I'm rarely hungry except the evening before I am due to take the next dose which I do in my belly. It doesn't hurt, can't even feel it.
Can't recommend Mounjaro highly enough. My GP wasn't informed but I told them.

TheSillyGoose · 08/01/2025 21:06

@Glasgow1996 I have endometriosis similar to yourself, I spoke to my GP regarding mounjaro and she was really positive about it, she wished she was able to prescribe it on the NHS.

If your GP is upto date on current research you might be surprised.

I've lost 5 stone 5 pounds in 6 months, I was alot larger than most on here though and I'm also very tall, and have only dropped 2 dress sizes.

Hope so because the cyst causes huge bloating looks like I’m 7 month pregnant when I’m taking a period.

Fabulous! Sounds great wouldn’t know where to start from the process of using the pen going up dosages etc but I’m sure it will be fine! I will be starting next month.

7 months into Mounjaro I've lost 2.5 stone. My losses aren't massive compared to some, I believe that's because I'm short.
However, I'm down 3 dress sizes, now a size 10. My shape has massively changed, I've still got my boobs (just smaller), but the belly has gone, my things are slimming and my energy has massively increased.

Very similar, I've lost 2.5 stone then effectively plateau for months but in that time my shape and figure has definitely changed and slimmed down even if scales haven't moved. I am now trying to kickstart loss again as otherwise I've got to seriously look at reducing dose or stopping altogether otherwise I'm paying for maintenance at a bmi that is still too high.

I was always in it for the long game rather than sudden crash loss so hopefully whilst a lot slower than others maybe it will help me with keeping it off longer term, I hope so

newyearnewme25 · 08/01/2025 21:38

I also have stage 4 endo, haven't had any issues on Mounjaro and ive disclosed it each time when ordering. Was on saxenda the year before and no issues with that either

TwirlyPineapple · 08/01/2025 22:00

I've lost 80lbs since May using Mounjaro, and I'd say I only really started noticing the difference in the past month or two. I still have a lot to lose but I can now shop on the high street again rather than plus size shops or online which is great. It's been life changing for me.

Glasgow1996 · 08/01/2025 22:41

Where is the cheapest to buy it? Boots are £219 just checked Asda there £179 😐 for 2.5

Have a look at monj.co.uk for a comparison list including any available discounts. There are plenty of providers that are cheaper than those prices.

Moier · 08/01/2025 22:54

I have had.
4 X 2.5mg
4X 5mg
4X 7.5mg
4 x 10mg
1 x 12.5 mg
So 17 weeks and lost 3 stone exactly .

113lbs

Frightenedbunny · 08/01/2025 23:06

Nothing on my NHS record from zava. However, my GP is aware and congratulated me on my weight loss at my last check up and commented on how I’d reduced the risk of cancer because of change to BMI.

I’ve gone from 15 stone 11 to 11 stone in 7 months. Dropped from size 20 to size 12 -14.

I feel like a new person! So much more confidence in myself.

SilenceInside · 08/01/2025 23:08

To answer your original question I've lost about 90 pounds since the start of July, using Mounjaro.

I'm not sure when I noticed a huge difference for the first time. Each half stone I lost helped me feel so much better, at each step. It's easy to see the difference now, especially when I look at photos. I'm needing to replace a lot of my clothes now as they are just too baggy to get away with anymore.

Still got a decent way to go to get to a healthy weight though.

Glasgow1996 · 08/01/2025 23:19

Has anyone ever used pharmacy 2 u
they seem really cheap giving £60 discount code is this normal sorry im new to this

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 08/01/2025 23:24

Pharmacy2U supply my repeat NHS prescription for other medication and I've had no issue with them for that. Not used them for Mounjaro, but I would if the price was good. Discount codes for new customers are very common.

Snozzlemaid · 08/01/2025 23:57

I've been on MJ since June and have ordered from various pharmacies to get the best price each time.
I placed my first order with Pharmacy2U yesterday (using the £60 discount code) and I'm waiting for it to be approved now.

I've lost 5 stone 2lbs since the start of June.

Started Mounjaro 5th September weighing 15st 7lb, as of this morning I weigh 12st 7lb so 3 stone in 4 months.

Gone from a size 22 to a size 16, went into Tesco for some exercise clothes yesterday and started with XL leggings and had to keep working down till I realised I needed a size M 😮

Good differences

  • I feel less tired
  • my resting heart rate, respiration rate, sleep quality and exercise heart rate have all improved according to my Apple Health reports
  • I feel more 'upright' like I'm hunching less as I walk and hiding myself less.
  • I can buy clothes in any shop, I am no longer in the 'additional range only sold online because we don't want fat folk darkening our doors'

Bad differences

  • I am absolutely fucking freezing constantly
  • my backside feels like it made up of all bone and razor blades, sitting at my office chair for 9 hrs a day is actually uncomfortable and I find myself longingly thinking about cushions and extra padded seats.
  • I'm saggy everywhere, saggy thighs, saggy belly, saggy thighs. I'm hopeful it will improve somewhat over time but not sure how realistic that is. I've started doing some strength exercises to build muscle.

Your post made me smile, as we have similar starting points and around the same point now. I share all the con's, sitting in my office chair or any chair is different. I have been adding cushions. I am also freezing Grin
