Ok, drum roll...Blimey, this is scary! Anyway, as it's you lot...
Have just bought my 501s. I told the lovely young woman in the store that I was 58, just lost 5st and wanted to buy my first ever pair and the two of us nearly had a little cry.
She asked me what size I wanted to try on, said I hadn't a clue so she bought one pair in, after another, each progressively smaller till we settled on a 28 waist, 32 length! Best clothes shopping experience ever 😅.
Photos attached - including the awful 1st prescription pic, a selfie in a grubby mirror out the loft as I was too ashamed to ask my OH to see me like that (as if he hadn't been looking at me everyday!)

You look gorgeous 👏

Amazing you look fab! that's a massive difference and the jeans look great

Moanranger · 14/12/2024 23:19

Latest up-dated WL tally is now 1824 lbs!

DesparatePragmatist · 14/12/2024 23:34

The jeans looks fantastic, Kranky. You're all legs. What a stupendous moment!

(And I really like your T-shirt)

FlappyFish · 14/12/2024 23:50

@KrankyKumquat brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

I get the jeans thing. Especially Levis. I never even tried when younger. I wasn’t going to embarrass myself when I knew I wouldn’t fit in the largest size. I would have cried too.

Wonkypictureframe · 15/12/2024 07:11

You look amazing!

ThirdStorm · 15/12/2024 07:32

I think I have painful memories of trying to fit in Levi’s from my youth! I’m happy in my soft and slightly stretchy M&S “Sophia” jeans in a 12. A size that’s never ever been in my wardrobe. I’ve replaced most of my trousers recent but luckily on top I’m still a 14 (and 16 in Phase eight, go figure!). It’s been such an incredible journey.

izzy2076 · 15/12/2024 07:57

@KrankyKumquat wow!!!!! You look fabulous dahhhling!!! So happy for everyone.

NCfor24 · 15/12/2024 08:03

@KrankyKumquat fabulous! And I have a witchy Spark t-shirt too...love yours!
@ThirdStorm I've replaced my trousers and jeans, well I have far less now but slowly increasing my wardrobe, but tops I'm still wearing so it looks like my style is a bit slouchy and grungy now. Husband loves it and says I'm very 90s 🤣

The best NSV yesterday... Was taking my 11yo to football and mentioned I was going out with friends last night. He said I will definitely see my progress when I'm dressed up because I'm a slim mum now, but he doesn't want me to get thin so I can stop. Then he said we can go for long walks again, just the 2 of us and talk. Like during covid. I had no idea he enjoyed those times as I had to drag him out, but I absolutely will have some active one to one times with my kids now that walking is easier.

NCfor24 · 15/12/2024 08:07

And here is my party dress picture comparing last year to this year. I had a great night at a hotel party night...3 course meal and lots of dancing with friends. And because some of them haven't seen me in ages lots of compliments. And a couple avidly following my maintenance journey to help them decide whether to go for it or not...the pressure!

You look amazing! Great legs!

ThirdStorm · 15/12/2024 08:25

@NCfor24 i think you look great in both pictures, but wow you can see your progress! I bet it felt good! ps. Vinted is your friend, I’ve been able to track down exact replacements for pieces that I love or match into a suit, etc. it’s been brilliant.

KrankyKumquat · 15/12/2024 08:39

@NCfor24
And the walk with your boy is so lovely. It's funny how children remember COVID and found the beauty in simple things. Our 6yr old grand daughter says it was the best Christmas ever when we went down to her house and we did Christmas presents in the garage, all wrapped up in coats and hats and scarves.
@FlappyFish yes I've never been a smart dresser, always grungy, so to finally get in some Levi's was quite the moment. Need some smaller t-shirts now as all my band ones are too big (and rather old).

KeepingUndercover · 15/12/2024 10:39

Loving the pics, you both look fantastic. The walks sound a great idea @NCfor24.

Donewiththisshit · 15/12/2024 10:53

Joining in having just found you all! I’m pretty much at goal and haven’t gone above 2.5mg, dosing every 7-14 days since July. I’ve lost 3 stone.
I’ve been lucky I am clearly a responder and have had no side effects other than tiredness but I have been tired for 25 years.
Has anyone actually stopped the meds for a decent period of time and got on ok? I need a plan for next steps.

Amazing work @KrankyKumquat. You look so slim. Don't know what a 28 waist is in size, but you look like a size 10.

Quick update from me. Still not made it into the 10s. Sitting at 11st. Have had a few weeks of plans that have involved meals out, drinks etc. So these always put me back a week or two. I'm hoping by the end of the week I can hit 10st13lbs!

I'm back down to 12.5mg and not feeling like there is much difference in potency from 15mg. I feel fine and leveled. Actually less side effects so that's actually better. Hoping I can get down to 10mg and feel that's working well enough too. I still want to lose a bit but happy to try and maintain around this for a while then see how I feel. Will maybe reconsider after I've used up my stash of 2 x 10mg pens.

Went to my aunt's on Friday and went for dinner with her and my cousin. My aunt got me to try on a load of size 12 clothes she was going to give to charity and they all fitted me. So now have some nice dresses she's never worn as they were too long for her. Nice to be able to get free clothes that fit me 😂 My cousin knows about MJ and has now started it. His BMI was just 30 so managed to qualify. It was pretty difficult for both of us at dinner trying to order as little as possible when my aunt was trying to insist we order big steaks etc! Plus both of us weren't drinking much either! Lol. A secret is harder to keep when others are also on MJ! Lol

If I were you I would titrate down to 2mg a week then, when maintaining on that, cut it to 1.5mg etc.

I got up to 15mg and you are having the same effects from 2.5mg. I wouldn't stop cold turkey from my highest dose so I don't think you should either.

Choux · 15/12/2024 14:56

Amazing photos @KrankyKumquat and @NCfor24! Glad you are enjoying dressing your new bodies.

I just got back from 2 weeks on holiday staying with family who have kids so snacks and treats available 24/7. I had plenty of snacks and treats plus carbs but somehow came back 2lbs lighter. I don't understand how. I was taking 12.5mg which was out of date for the second week but obviously still worked.

I am now dropping to 10mg to see if can maintain on that. I have set myself a new goal which is 2lb lighter than my current weight because that will give me a round 50lb weight loss. But if I don't make it to 50lbs it's no big deal.

Between Christmas and new year I plan to try on my entire wardrobe and get rid of the too big clothes and buy / rebuy some things to plug gaps. For instance, I am still wearing size 16 t shirts so will replace with the same T shirt in a 10. Plus I need new boots and shoes to go with the old dresses I can now fit into again as I got into the habit of only wearing trainers with my fat trousers!

Thanks @ObsidianTree
I've just checked the 28in and, yes, that's a size 10 which I'm having trouble believing especially as Levi's supposedly come small. To think I started at size 20!
Must be nice to know someone IRL on MJ. You'll be a good source of advice for him.
We've just got back from delivering some cards and I could see my friend giving me the once over and sure enough, wasn't long before the tutting about my weight loss started. I denied losing 5st as I was so embarrassed. Hate that, why couldn't she just say 'you look fab' and leave it at that?
Oh well, I guess people will get used to it and stop making an issue of it eventually. F**k 'em in the meantime.

Wonkypictureframe · 15/12/2024 16:34

F**k ‘em indeed.

Choux · 15/12/2024 18:20

Re people noticing my weight loss, I make sure I talk about how my BMI is in the healthy range now but I still have too much fat so am now focusing on losing fat and building muscle. I tell them my visceral fat is ok but my metabolic age is still 1 year higher than my real age and I hope losing a bit more fat will sort that.

I tell them my cholesterol has improved and the last dr I saw was really happy with my progress and I now have more energy. That I enjoy low carbing and think it suits me so will continue eating less carbs than before I started dieting. I say I can see my face looks thinner but I probably also look a bit older / more wrinkly now the fat has gone but that's ok as I am far healthier and that's what I need to be as a post menopausal woman.

Basically I stress all the health benefits, point out I have seen a dr and talk a lot so they can't get a word in to ask if I have used injections as I have just said I have been low carbing ie dieting. It usually stops any interrogation - probably as they just want to shut me up! 😂
