Week 2
Day 3

SW 12st 6
CW 11.8
GW 9.6

Strongly considering counting clicks and going down to 1.25 dose. I don't want to lose weight this quickly and struggling 3 days out of each week with side effects. It's nothing terrible like D&V but got heartburn and feeling even more lethargic than usual.

I really want to get into healthy habits and interestingly I've managed a lot of "safe" but high sugar foods this week and yet not managed to finish a chicken sandwich for example.

Hello!

I've bitten the bullet today and just ordered my first supply. Got a BlueLightCard discount too!

I've mulled it over for a while and I just thought that I've struggled with weight for so long, I'm tired and if this tool helps, why would I not do it?

I also saw a friend last week who has lost a stone in 6 weeks.

So I'm 5ft 5 and 15stone exactly. I want to be 13 stone by Christmas. Is this doable?

I'm excited. Any tips for a first-time ever user?

SecondDesk · 22/09/2024 17:06

@theluckiest if you lose 2lbs a week, every week, it is doable.

Only on the start of week 3, my weight loss is slower than I would have liked. I feel it in my body more than I see it on the scales.

I have kept a note of my waist measurement. I have a few pairs of trousers that I would like to get back into. Hopefully this will help me to keep track as a non weight related progress.

My advice would be plenty of protein and fluids. Don't rush up the doses if you are still loosing weight on the lower dose. Be very careful when eating rich foods or alcohol as for a lot of people myself included it upsets the stomach. Digestive enzymes and electrolytes are useful. Track calories. Administer the jab on your days off as fatigue and indigestion can happen the day after the jab. Don't be surprised if you feel the cold more when on the medication. Extra needles and wipes are available online and aren't that expensive. Royal Mail seem to want a signature when delivering so plan your deliveries of new pens for either when you know you will be home or arrange to collect it from your local collection point, this avoids it sitting in a depot somewhere getting warm. Good luck.

I had a Krispy Kreme donut today and I thought I was going to be sick afterwards! I struggled to finish it. This has never happened to me before.

Can I ask a stupid question. Just done 1st Injection and the pen looks empty after. Is this right? Really worried overdosed despite dialling to 1!

Can you post a photo of it?

From what I’ve been reading it would be best to inject in stomach.
What time of day is best? Morning or evening?

Doing mine in stomach in the morning on Sunday. That way, I know I'm not going anywhere and ready for any side effects for the whole day.

AutumnJ0y · 22/09/2024 18:21

Day 10 and second jab of 2.5mg done on Friday. I've lost 7.5lbs in total. Approx 5.5lbs in week 1 and the rest since Friday. The problem for me is I've barely managed to eat much. The suppression is high for me. I have not eaten anything other than a few crackers over the last 2 days as that's literally all I can manage and I know that's not good. I can't have protein shakes as I reacted so badly to it. I think I will have to try meal replacement shakes to get some nutrients in. I've not had any other side effects apart from struggling to eat anything. Is anyone else struggling as much?

Oooo..where does the bluelight discount please?

Purplehearts757 · 22/09/2024 18:29

Week 4 day 3 i made a mistake priming week 3 so my pen would not click to one so i tried forcing it now think i may have injected more than 2.5 as feeling strong suppression and nausua today after feeling very hungry thursday and friday! Thinking of trying 3.75 this week 🤔i have a 5 pen in the fridge

caffelattetogo · 22/09/2024 18:47

Thanks so much. I need this today. So hungry! Appetite suppression has worn off. Next 2.5ml tomorrow.

theluckiest · 22/09/2024 18:51

Thanks for the fantastic advice. I'm really excited to get going.

BlueLightCard discount was for MedExpress - 30% off! But think it's only for the first order.

I planned around the Royal Mail by arranging delivery to my workplace where there's also a fridge.

just be aware that Medexpress send out the orders very quickly - i ordered my 2nd pen on a Friday eve about 7pm and it was dispatched that evening or early Saturday - but won't be delivered until monday when i expect the freezer packs to have melted..

theluckiest · 22/09/2024 19:10

Ah. Thanks for that @wohmum. Good to know

I only ordered it today so if it turns up tomorrow or Tuesday, that'd be great! I want to get started asap...

Celia24 · 22/09/2024 19:16

Hi all. I took my first last week and had horrific side effects: projectile vomiting, diarrhea, neck pain, etc

I took the second on Friday and I've had no reaction at all. I'd say my appetite is slightly suppressed but hardly at all compared to last week

Is it normal for effects to wear off so fast?

Just entering my 4th week tomorrow, started early September :

SW 12s9 5ft4 Size 14
CW: 12s2 still size 14

7 lbs in 3 weeks so far!

Interim goal; 11s7 for Christmas size12
GW: 10s7 size 10
Dream GW: 9s9- 10stone size 8/10

I go on holiday in 2 weeks and I'd love to be 11s10 (6 more lbs off) but it may be a stretch!

Richtea67 · 22/09/2024 20:38

This is probably a stupid question...but I'm out of the house a lot and if you order for a delivery service will they leave the parcel in a safe space? Or not because of the need to be refrigerated. It looks like I could save a bit of money going for medexpress and the like, but I'm worried about missing deliveries.

I use medexpress. They use Royal Mail. They don’t require a signature and my postie leaves it in my porch ( nominated safe space.)

85reasons · 22/09/2024 20:55

@Sadteacher I've just swapped to Oushk for my second pen order because you can nominate which delivery day exactly you want, and choose either Royal Mail or DPD. I'm out all day for two days a week and didn't want to run the risk of it arriving on a day I'm out with RM and then having it be redelivered the next day. I find RM generally annoying in terms of tracking etc so this seems better for me.

85reasons · 22/09/2024 20:55

Sorry that was for @Richtea67 !

20bloodypounds · 22/09/2024 22:02

@Celia24 Sounds like you had some strong reactions in week 1, not surpriisng that your appetitie was suppressed with all that going on. This week are you still hungry between meals? Do you feel full earlier when you are eating a meal?

2.5mg is a dose to get our bodies used to the drug, some people have little effect until 5mg or even 7.5mg. But some are overwhelmed at 2.5mg and feel the need to cut back. We are all so different!

I think this topic is so interesting in a broader sense. Because so many people are paying for this privately (rather than following an NHS prescription) I think we are making more individual judgements about the dose we take to balance side effects, appetite suppression, and also how quickly we ramp up the doses or stick with something we find acceptable.

I have found with all other medications that NHS prescriptions and simply more prescriptive. For example, I was on a medication for high blood pressure. If I take zero, my BP fluctuates wildly and generally rises. If I take the full minimum clinical dose I experience side effects. So I decided (for myself) to take half a tablet. Result was stable BP, no side effects, but Dr said that I couldn't take that amount as it was a sub-clinical dose and had no proven efficacy. Except it worked for me!

Darkbutstarrynight · 22/09/2024 22:11

Someone please convince me just to order! Got code and researched just can't bring myself to actually do it.....

mimosa1 · 22/09/2024 22:30

@Celia24 I was the same week one so have taken half a dose this week. Very encouraged that you didn't have side effects week 2 though. Fingers crossed I won't either.

Really interesting discussion about calibrating one's dose in fact!

20bloodypounds · 22/09/2024 22:30

@Darkbutstarrynight what's holding you back? Are you worried about side effects? Are you worried about the cost? Do you think it's 'cheating'? (it isn't)

Also what are you motivations for doing it? Tell us your weight/height, if you want to. Tell us your dieting history, and other metabolic history - diabetes, blood pressure, family history of obesity/cardiac problems.
