I need some positive stories. I'm really considering stopping MJ. I'm on week 6 of 2.5mg and suppression has gone completely, I'm so hungry. I've gained 2lbs this week.
But I'm too scared to go up, having read the stories on here. I just don't know if I can do it. I'm so scared of being sick, severe emetophobia.

I was feeling like you - I did 5 weeks of 2.5mg and had completely lost suppression. I did 3.75mg this week (counting clicks), and suppression is back with no side effects. Maybe even try just going up to 3? I'm finding the suppression really high on 3.75

suze12 · 17/10/2024 08:30

Grrrr week 5 and I’ve only lost 1lb again. I used the bonus dose from the pen last week and in hindsight probably shouldn’t have done as I was definitely ready to move up as suppression had really waned.

I still don’t feel that I’m eating enough to warrant such small losses. 10lbs in 5 weeks really isn’t as much as I was hoping for seeing as I’m eating so much less than I was before I started.

I’m trying to concentrate on the positives though.. no impact on my social life, don’t feel like I’m dieting/having to try and am still on track to meet my Halloween goal of 12st7.

I had to take my dose a day early as nosey relative arrived yesterday and I didn’t want her discovering the pen in my fridge. I did 45 clicks of a 5mg pen to get 3.75 as I was worried about side effects. I was very tired last night but ok apart from that. Really really hoping for a whoosh this week.

SW- 13st5
week one- 13st1
week two- 13st1
week three- 12st11
week four- 12st10
week five- 12st9

GW- 10st7 or thereabouts

My weight loss has been similar to yours
SW - 13st 2lb (when I ordered my pen)
1st dose - 13st exactly
2nd dose - 12st 10lb, -4lb
3rd dose - 12st 7lb, -3lb
4th dose - 12st 6.5lb, -0.5lb
5th dose - 12st 5.5lb, -1lb
6th dose - 12st 3.5lb, -2lb

I don’t feel like I’ve lost that much, considering how much less I’m eating. But I have lost nearly a stone. I’m hoping I can continue to lose 1-2lb a week and lose another 8-10lb from my second pen.

violetsunrise · 17/10/2024 14:27

@Whereisthewine hope you’re feeling better now. The nausea seems to have gone today thankfully but yesterday was the worst day - really forced my self to eat enough calories.

Whereisthewine · 17/10/2024 14:55

@violetsunrise a little bit thanks but it's been a struggle since Sunday if I'm honest. Def a noticeable shift in going up by 1.25! Glad you're feeling better ☺️

85reasons · 17/10/2024 12:11

@sylv165 just wanted to add that I've found myself slipping into that camp too - not eating enough and chasing bigger losses. My losses had slowed down. I haven't even weighed the last few days and almost "gave up" trying so hard and just eating what I felt like.. and it's been really good for me mentally. I'm wondering whether it's normal after a few weeks in to start trying to act a bit less like we're on constant alert for what we want to eat and how much we're losing and try to relax about it.

Oh absolutely! I have also fallen into that trap but keep reminding myself that the goal is to be healthy, not thin!

Orangesandlemons77 · 17/10/2024 16:38

I'm just kind of following intuitive eating, so eating when hungry, stopping while full..today I have had lots of coffees and half a panini with cheese, pesto and tomato for lunch in a cafe with an elderly relative. Haven't wanted anything more yet. Finding 5mg making me less hungry. I'll have one of my all plants ready meals later they are nice and pretty healthy.

A bottle of wine is quite a lot… I'd feel pretty rough the day after, mounjaro or not! Might be you just need to have less, like with eating, and stick to a small glass or two? Hope you feel better soon.

LucyBnotG · 17/10/2024 20:06

@Rm2018 I'm not a big drinker in general but I've always tolerated it well. I've found on MJ that alcohol hits me quicker. I wasn't sure if it was due to the weightloss, the reduction in general alcohol consumption, or having less food in my stomach to slow down the effects of the alcohol. I don't think my experiences help you with your question I'm afraid. I think we all experience the medication in our own way.

Yeah hit me quicker. I very rarely drink so may be that as well lol! Thanks

SpiderMother · 17/10/2024 23:30

Injection 7 for me today, so 6 weeks done. Small loss for me this week, but still a loss. And I'm down a stone and a half in total so that's amanzing.

Height.- 5 ft 2
heaviest - 12 stone 3.7 (1.9.24)
starting MJ - 11 stone 11.7
end of week 6 - 10 stone 10.6
Week 5 loss - 1.1 lbs
Total MJ weight loss - 1 stone 1.1
Loss to date (including dieting before jabs) - 1 stone 7.1 llbs
Goal - 9 stone 7

Last week was my second week on 5mls and I found it the hardest. I had a couple of days with zero appetite, an awful headache for a day, and all types of stomach issues. I had none of these issues with the first dose and was wondering if going up to 5 had made any difference was a bit nervous about taking the next dose, but hopefully it won't be all that difference.

The weirdest thing for me is that I've been busy at work and had two days where I forgot to eat lunch. I've never been that person, I've always been the one to eat crap and gain weight when I'm busy so that's been a revelation.

SwiftiesVSLestat · 18/10/2024 05:35

Morning all.

Just weight in. I am on week 2 of 5mg. So 7 injections all together. 3lb down this week. So 24lb down. My BMI is 0.9 of getting under 40. And I need to lose a pound to be in the next stone bracket so that’s the aim for next week.

@SpiderMother I am week 2 of 5mg too. And I did the same. Yesterday I was off work so did the food shop, came back and rearranged the room I use as my office because my walking pad comes tomorrow. It got to 4pm and I was thinking about making DS dinner and all of a sudden I realised I hadn’t eaten. That’s definitely not me.

I need to watch it though. I had scrambled egg on toast. I made 3 eggs and one large slice of dark rye sour dough and it took me ages to eat it. I made myself eat it because I hadn’t eaten anything else. I don’t want to be in that position again. Though it was a revelation. Hasn’t happened in years.

Cocoaone · 18/10/2024 07:02

Checking in, although I've lost track of when I should be weighing in as I've changed my jab day twice now.
But I'm due jab 4 tomorrow and currently 9.8lbs down in total. Biggest chuck in first 2 weeks. 'Only' 1.4lbs this week.

I only had 1.25mg for jab 3 as the effects had been so strong in the first couple of weeks and I've slightly regretted going that low this week. Whilst I've felt much more normal and eaten much closer to ideal calories, the food noise and hunger is much stronger, and yesterday I ate a whole dr oetker pizza for dinner after a rubbish day at work. And I nearly went to the shop to get chocolate. First time in 3 weeks that I've had/wanted something non nutritious and eaten such a big amount volume-wise.

So I'm not sure whether or not to go back up to 2.5mg tomorrow, or still keep it a bit lower at 1.75 or maybe 2. And I need to order the new pen and not sure whether to stay on 2.5 or go up to 5 in case the lower dose starts wearing off quicker - hard to know when that happens isn't it?!

skiptrip · 18/10/2024 07:53

After gaining 2lb last week, I've lost it again this week, thankfully - 2.5lb down.
SW: 13st 5
CW: 12st 11.5
GW: 10st

So I've lost 7.5lb on 4 weeks of 2.5 - a pretty modest loss and nearly all in the first week. I took my first 5mg last night. Usual queasiness this morning. Hopefully the higher dose will get things moving.

EBoo80 · 18/10/2024 07:54

@Cocoaone was it that your side effects were rough or your suppression too high? Sounds like maybe you’ve acclimatised and ready to move up a bit?

I’m on way home from holiday today so haven’t weighed in over a week, plus a few evenings with 2-3 glasses of wine and some crisps. It’s also been fairly active (thanks to the kids) so hoping it won’t be a gain. We’ll see. I felt happier than usual in my swimming costume at the pool at least, and found some quite strenuous hikes easier than usual as I’m carrying less weight.

Cocoaone · 18/10/2024 07:59

@EBoo80 - the suppression and fullness were so high that I was barely managing to force in 800 calories most of the week, which meant I felt very tired and obviously worried about loosing too fast/too much muscle etc.

I'm off for half term next week so might try 2.5 again and at least I can rest if I'm tired

20bloodypounds · 18/10/2024 09:41

I've survived a family week away (some big birthday celebrations) which included lots of unhealthy party food, and wine. I did my best avoiding cakes and puddings and ended up half a pound heavier which I've lost again now. So effectively stayed the same.

I'm pretty pleased with that as I'm on my second pen of 2.5mg and suppression is definitely much less. There was a bit of will power involved over the celebrations but it was possible because of MJ. I guess that's where I'm hoping to get to long term, that I can feel a bit tempted but can resist when I want to.

I'm going to take my next injection a couple of days early. Partly because suppression is reducing but also I've got a couple of days with friends next week and I do want to eat relatively normally. I'm planning to use my bonus dose through more frequent dosing and will definitely increase to 5mg for my next pen.

EBoo80 · 18/10/2024 09:50

@20bloodypounds that’s a great achievement. Totally what I’m after too - being able to be the person who enjoys ‘treats’ in moderation when in company (ie not scoffing in the kitchen on my own before bed) but is able to stop. I’m particularly noticing craving sweet things so much less - have been sitting next to a box of miniature heroes all week and eaten 2 in all that time.

KittyGetSmall · 18/10/2024 09:57

4th weigh in and -6lbs this week! Am in utter shock!!

Week 1, 5lbs
Week2, 2 lbs
Week 3 1lb
Week 4 6lbs

So a stone in a month!

Am now 10st9lbs and my BMI IS HEALTHY

Which is huge for me because I've not had a healthy BMI for 20 years

SpottyBumPony · 18/10/2024 10:03

For the people who feel they aren’t losing why not share what you have eaten and the hive mind might be able to suggest changes?

Cocoaone · 18/10/2024 10:17

@KittyGetSmall that's amazing! Bloody well done

alwaysscared · 18/10/2024 11:13

Despite a disappointing mid week gain, I have managed to lose just over half a pound this week. I'm so surprised as suppression has been non existent, so have relied on willpower. The better news is that my muscle mass has increased and my visceral fat has reduced! So I'm getting healthier! And I can finally see the 16 stone on the scales!
Going up to 3.5mg today. Please keep all your fingers and toes crossed that I'll be ok, I feel sick with nerves!!

HippoPortlyMouse · 18/10/2024 11:45

Today was a good day on the scales.

I have lost 10% of my body weight since starting Mounjaro!
Going to see if I can become overweight by December (as I am still obese).

@KittyGetSmall brilliant result, well done!
@alwaysscared good luck - you're doing really well challenging your fears - and seeing results on the scales!
@20bloodypounds really well done to you, that sounds like a test of willpower (and mounjaro). Makes me look towards Christmas and wonder how that will be, a big test for sure - not just the eating, but the social aspect and how to deal with the remarks and questions and comments.

Well done, a loss is a loss. Im going up to 3.75 this weekend too, hoping it will keep my suppression at a good level.

Can i ask how you check your muscle mass/visceral fat etc. Do you have a fancy scale to do this?

85reasons · 18/10/2024 11:51

Well done everyone for these great results!

I've not lost anything this week - and have taken the plunge and gone to 5mg from 3.5mg last week and 4.15mg the week before. Got my nausea tablets standing by...!

I’ve still lost 18lb since 8th September so am feeling (weirdly, for me) quite relaxed about the slow down.
