Congratulations on 10% Hippo!

@StanleyCup yes, I treated myself to some Fittrack scales for my birthday (though it's not until the end of the month!!)
I like to see all the numbers. I've gone from a BMI of 39 to 36.5 and body fat is reducing. It keeps me motivated while I am struggling with the hunger!

Brilliant thanks! Perhaps its a good way to measure overall, if you’re not losing pounds could mean your putting on muscle and losing body fat etc. i might invest in one.

InfoSecInTheCity · 18/10/2024 13:17

Congrats on 10% @HippoPortlyMouse , that's a great milestone!

I'm slogging on, 3rd 5mg done this week, no real loss but it's the week before period is due so not really expecting much this week to be honest.

Stats at the moment

SW - 218lb
CW - 197lb

Total loss - 21 lb, 9.4% bodyweight

Gone into the Overweight category now at 29.9 BMI

I don’t smoke - but my husband does (and he likes a drink!) but I was just wondering if any of you smoke and drink? And if so, has the injection reduced your need for nicotine or alcohol?

Oops! We're almost at the end of the thread. Well done everyone! OP, @doodleschnoodle Hope we get a 'Mounjaro September Starters - Thread 3' before this one runs out? x

@MetabolismLost I vape and it hasn't reduced my need for nicotine unfortunately. Don't drink though so can't say on that one

@MetabolismLost I find my desire for alcohol (or rather the lack of desire) is one of the biggest surprises and the biggest benefit of MJ. Far too often I would start a diet with great enthusiasm only to find that a few glasses of wine would undo the good, and make it worse. Not only is alcohol full of empty calories but drinking also had me reaching for fatty carby snacks, and the morning after looking for sugar and carbs and caffeine to make me feel better.

Now I am so less tempted to even open a bottle. Sometimes I have half a glass and simply don't enjoy it and do not want any more. And when I have had a couple of glasses I've founded is easier to stop, walk away, and choose a glass of water, rather than insisting the more bottles are opened. What a difference! And hopefully a big improvement for my health.

OvaHere · 18/10/2024 14:29

I'm on week 2 of 5mg and agree with the other posters that suppression feels slightly too much for a couple of days. Took the dose on Tue eve so Wed/Thu I've not found very pleasant - a real struggle to eat and the thought of food slightly nauseating. I managed on bananas, babybels and ryevita for a couple of days.

Today is better and I can feel it lessening to a more comfortable level so I've managed a milky coffee, banana and half an omelette today. By Monday/Tuesday next week the suppression will have relaxed too much and I have to watch what I eat then. If I could find a way to be at today's level all the time it would be great.

Choux · 18/10/2024 15:03

That cycle of feeling it wearing off towards the end of the week won't change no matter what dose you are on. It's why some people decide to do two half doses each week.

Personally I just check I am eating enough over each 7 day injection period and know it will be weighted more towards days 5-7. I inject when I won't need to see anyone socially for days 1-3 so they don't seem me struggle to eat (friends don't know about the mounjaro) and I can be at home in case I am feeling tired etc.
