Morning,

Happy Saturday everyone.

I've lost 3lbs this week! 11st 11lbs! Surprised! Especially after I kept bitching about how useless the 15mg is 🤣 still don't think it's been great for suppression, but must be doing something!

Thought I would add my stats. Look how green and amber that all is! BMI officially 25 on the dot.

Also thought I would show my body age. Currently I am 42 and it's showing as 43. It started as 48 in March of the year. It's gone down by a year each month since June. So hopefully in October I should hit my real age!

Great news!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Okay savvy shoppers… I can get 12.5 & 15mg for £185 each- does that sounds reasonable? It’s £10 more than e surgery but I won’t get cut off for going < 30 BMI etc. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I very much do not want to be tied into a subscription plan each month.

ObsidianTree · 30/09/2024 13:58

@AgathaMystery that does sound reasonable. Oushk charge £210 and £220 for their 12.5 and 15mg pens. Even with 15% off and free delivery it's not much less than what you've been quoted. Not sure about other pescribers that offer maintenance

I agree with @ObsidianTree
Oushk work out £178.50 for 12.5mg and £187 for 15mg and have free delivery. They are also definitely very supportive of maintenance

AgathaMystery · 30/09/2024 20:58

Okay. I will give them a go. I don’t need it for a month or so but am tempted to buy now as I have the funds. Does anyone else do this?

You can order and actually select a later delivery date with them too (this allows you to change strength etc if needed closer to dispatch)

Sorry I meant the private prescriber - not Oushk. I don’t want to pay a subscription fee you see. In my experience they very quickly add up!

imnottoofussed · 30/09/2024 22:31

I think I read that family chemist does maintenance with no fee if you wanted to look into their prices

There isn’t a subscription fee. You are only paying for the pens you actually order with Oushk.

Hope everything works out with the private prescriber though.

Oh! Sorry I thought they did a subscription where you paid each month to remain on their books. Where did I get that info from then? I don’t think I invented it 😂

I’m a ways off actually needing to buy anymore… med express made a a mistake back in May/June and sent me four pens 😮

There are three plans. One where you pay £20 a month to stay on the books but get no pens. Another plan to stay on the same dose and last plan where you titrate down.

As I have some spare pens, I am going to sign up to the £20 plan so I can use my pens then swap to the plan where you stay on a same dose. You get 15% off and free delivery on their maintenance plans. So better value. But mainly for the smaller dose pens. The higher dose ones are quite expensive.

Has anybody used e surgery?
Got a great price, then they said that supplier let them down and won't get it in until today. That was ok. I have pens in hand .

I phoned today, to be told the pens won't be in until 11am and they are only getting 5 of the 15mg.

Said I had to phone after 11 and they would expedite it for me?

What does that even mean?

I ordered last week, they said dispatch by today .
Why do I need to phone?
Do I have to plead for it?
Will I have to arm wrestle other people to get one of the 15mgs?🤷

Choux · 01/10/2024 11:00

@Smallsalt it would halve to be a really great price to compensate for having to call up multiple times at specific times to get into a lottery to get one of the 5 pens they will have available. Other places you just place an order and it turns up 24-48 hours later.

Choux · 01/10/2024 11:06

It's not even cheap! 12.5mg is £195 which is more than some other suppliers.

@Choux The only positive is that you do get somebody on the phone and an immediate response!

Smallsalt · 01/10/2024 11:13

@Choux I got 15mg for £165 with a discount code which is very cheap.

MoreThanJustANumber · 01/10/2024 11:29

I'm switching to Care Pharmacy, price for 15mg is £179.99 and free postage. I sent an enquiry asking what they needed for me to switch and one of the pharmacists rang me to chat and was really helpful. (I didn't ask for a call or anything) I don't need to order for a month as I had a pen delivered last week but I was really impressed with the service.

I recommended a friend to them who started last week and she was processed quickly and did her first jab on Saturday. £119.99 for 2.5mg.

I didn't ask about maintenance though as I've still got five or six stone to go.

Smallsalt · 01/10/2024 16:15

E Surgery have dispatched my 15mg and phoned to tell me.
£165 so I am happy with that.
Now to see if it can arrive cooler than the surface of the sun🙄. . .... .

Scalessayeek · 02/10/2024 09:16

@MoreThanJustANumber I'm with care pharmacy and find them great. I have had a few missed calls from them but not able to return during their opening times. They've still despatched on time.

Has anyone ordered 12.5mg recently and can confirm the dates? I've a few 10mg pens to use first and won't need to use it until the end of the year Confused

Choux · 02/10/2024 11:26

Early indications are that it's going to be a cold, cold winter.

That's not a weather forecast but an evaluation of my personal ability to cope with cold temperatures now I have taken off my 35lb fat blanket! It's the 2nd October and I have already broken out the heated throw for a day working at home. Maybe I just need to get smarter about layering up and thermals etc but I am pretty sure I am going to be colder this winter.

Oh well, a body trying to keep warm burns more calories than one in an ambient temperature...

CiderJabs · 02/10/2024 11:28

@Choux I've just washed my oodie and have it ready! I wfh every day and can't bear feeling cold! I've also got a weighted blanket in case of emergencies 🤣
I'm sure I'll feel super cold even though I'm on a low dose now. I'm also worried I'll want to drink hot chocolate all the time!

Wonkypictureframe · 02/10/2024 11:33

I have been freezing all summer. My home office area is chilly anyway but I’m currently in a jumper, under a blanket, with the electric fire on, and trying to warm my hands on a hot drink in between typing. We’ve just bought thermal curtains and are getting our living room carpeted to try to warm up the house as I am unbearably cold!

ObsidianTree · 02/10/2024 12:10

Oh gosh I have been meaning to post on here how freezing I am! My heated mattress cover is already on my bed and on for a good while before I feel warm enough to sleep the last week or so. My hands and feet are freezing. During the day I'm not so bad but at night it's bad. But during the day I am definitely feeling the cold. I might need to take in a blanket to work as the building is freezing even in summer. Don't think I can wear my oodie into work 🤣

I wonder if we are in ketosis as that makes you feel colder. But feeling cold is probably something we are going to have to get used to. At least we no longer sweat in the summer!

KrankyKumquat · 02/10/2024 12:16

@Choux etc
I'm another worker at home and I'm bloody freezing and it's only 2nd Oct. I'm already in my fake oodie, fake ugg slipper booties and I've got a blanket over my knees (I'm looking super attractive!) and wondering if I can type in gloves. Last year, I was sweating with hot flushes and sneaking the thermostat down a notch but MJ has cured them so here I am, moaning 😂

Smallsalt · 02/10/2024 12:37

@Choux I've been in my heated throw and oodie all summer😂
