Speaking of arm jabbing, has anyone done it with a syringe for a bonus dose? Doing mine tomorrow and feeling rather uncertain about the length of the needle 😬

I think it might be simpler with a syringe as it would be easier to depress than the pen. Just remember to go at 45 degrees rather than straight in

Oh why 45 degrees? I put it straight in as only 1mm longer than my pen needles -did I do it wrong?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/09/2024 17:12

@MamaBearH It's to ensure the jab stays subcutaneous rather than going too deep.

Ok so that won't matter with mine as they are only 1mm longer

SnacklessWonder · 24/09/2024 17:16

I've had diarrhoea all day today. Is that normal? It's now got to the point where it was just clear liquid but now my body is evacuating last night's undigested salad in that. Sorry to be graphic! I am away with work and could really do without it!

WorriedRelative · 24/09/2024 17:37

I seem to have a slightly odd side effect. Not awful but a bit weird and I wondered if anyone has similar or knows what causes it or how best to deal with it.

My tongue feels weird. Not numb or tingly or anything but a bit like I've eaten too many strong salt and vinegar crisps. It isn't actually sore or burned though.

A pint of water hasn't made a difference.

Any ideas?

I had this the first 3 days.

Not had it today though.

It feels like I've put bongela on or like the mildest pins and needles.

I got it on the roof of my mouth too

I have had it a couple of times since I started (I am on my second pen). Not all the time, just occasionally. I suspect it is an effect related to something else like blood sugar or dehydration or something but no idea what!

This sounds better than long needles do you have a link to the ones you buy :) I’m terrified of long needles!!

He's doing very well, just had some chicken and a small amount of pasta with some lemon juice salt and pepper.

He's physically doing well but he's going through the 5 stages of grief about all the foods he can't eat any more. He keeps cycling between there are lots of delicious foods he can eat, and then thinking life is not worth living without butter.

I agree with him on the butter….

So glad he’s doing better, and that sounds like a decent meal actually!

Look after yourself, these things take their toll on loved ones as well as the poorly person.

Sorry I've no idea how to share a link here but I've screenshot if that helps? I literally went through every listing to find the smallest needle as the one my neighbour gave me was terrifying & sore. These ones didn't feel different to the pen ones at all.

Morning all.

After a nearly four week total stall, I've decided I'm going to up my dose tonight, from 5 to 7.5.

Hopefully I'll start to see a loss again. I've only 7lbs to go to goal, but it's taking me forever to get there, I've only lost 3lbs in the last 2 months!

I thought I'd get to my target of 80lbs lost by Christmas, but at this rate I don't stand a chance!

Hope everyone has a great day.

SnacklessWonder · 25/09/2024 08:10

Argh I'm feeling so poorly. 24 hours of 💩 and it's not slowing down. I'm in a different country and a colleague is now bringing my some Imodium as I can't carry on like this. I'm assuming this is a side effect?

SnacklessWonder · 25/09/2024 08:11

Are you in a calorie deficit @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa? Because I would have thought even without MJ you'd lose more than that in 2 months?

It does get frustratingly slow to lose weight the closer you get to goal though.

@SnacklessWonder I think you are experiencing a side effect. I only experienced diarrhoea after eating too much fat. After that experience I tried to keep my meals lower fat and high protein, clean eating - meat and plain veg. Then after the first month I found I could eat a wider range of things without issue. Remember to drink lots of water.

This is definitely a side effect, I have found my insides are much more sensitive to raw veg (incl salad and tomatoes) since I've been on MJ. A bowl of leaves will go right through me. No problem with cooked veg or fruit.

Imodium is a lifesaver if you're out and about. Depending on what I'm up to I sometimes just concentrate on staying hydrated, and don't wander too far from a loo!

I don't think people have read properly what you've written, so I'm just gonna come out and say it - you have done amazing!!! You've lost SO MUCH already, the fact that you're only 7 lbs off your 80 lbs LOSS target is crazy! Well done you!!! Everywhere I have read, people say that the last 5-10 lbs are the hardest/slowest to shift. You have done incredibly well, your body has done incredibly well. You are without a doubt going to get to your target, and if your body just needs some extra time, then so be it!

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa
I'd definitely recommend going up a dose. I'm on my last stone and after 2 months on 7.5, weight loss had slowed to a crawl. Started 10mg on Saturday, and 2lbs down, with nothing else changed. I presume we build up some tolerance and increasing the dose jolts the system again.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 25/09/2024 11:51

Going up to 7.5 definitely accelerator my weight loss, at least for the first couple of doses.

I weighed in this morning at 179.4lbs and it's my first time in the 170s. So pleased.

Fromthesidelines · 25/09/2024 11:58

Haven't posted for a while as I've been a bit despondent as I have stalled for the last 4 weeks. I have always been a slow loser but now really starting to question the expense.
I have moved up for each pen so far (in my last week of 10) but have stuck to 10 for the next one as I go on my first solo holiday next week and didn't want additional suppression and the risk of side effects. I had hoped to be half a stone lighter before going but suspect I'm going to come back half a stone heavier and be back where I was in July!
I am sticking to a 500 calorie deficit based on current TDEE ( not counting exercise calories, although I walk and do pilates, strength or cardio every day). No UPFs, prioritise protein and fairly low carbs.
I am clinging on to the fact that I am eating very healthily and that has to be doing me good despite the scales staying stubbornly put. I'm also feeling fitter and stronger. So will carry on carrying on for now.
Solidarity to those also stalling!

We are twins! I can't offer anything but solidarity and reassurance that you are not alone.

I'm also sticking to my 500 calorie deficit and ignoring exercise allowance although I am much less active than you are (and much older no doubt!)
I have bumped along at the same weight for 2-3 weeks then regained 1.5kg this week but I had been away and am just hoping it will go soon
Onwards and downwards!
