Aww you're all welcome @FarriersGirl :)

I just want to have a special and indulgent and enjoyable time over the holidays, without feeling deprived or like I'm missing out and without undoing all of my wonderful progress and hard work.

There is sooo much inspo out there, I'm sure my list will grow over the next 2 months. Happy to share updated menu ideas as we get closer to the time if anyone else is interested!

KrankyKumquat · 23/09/2024 15:28

@3wDavid
Wow, actually this is a fabulously useful post, thank you! If I can figure out how, I'm gonna screenshot...
I had decided to spend a chunk of money on a lovely piece of beef and some smoked salmon but hadn't got much beyond that. It's the sides and special snacks, especially cheese, which I really struggle with and you've got to make it special for guests so it's flippin hard. I can resist Christmas pud but not Stilton 😅

3wDavid · 23/09/2024 15:36

Thanks @KrankyKumquat !

You're so right, everyone loves a cheeseboard, but if we are hosting this holiday season, I'm going to go all out on a wonderful crudité platter.
They are soooo beautiful, and can be so delicious. I'm thinking a mix of fresh veggies, lovely crackers (sourdough or seeded, there's all sorts of options), creamy hummus, some type of a delicious cottage cheese-based dip....yum yum yum. Cheese who??

And I've even bookmarked some pudding ideas - like a decadent chocolate chia pudding with caramelized pecans or black cherry jam. 😏

FarriersGirl · 23/09/2024 15:57

Really good idea to share Christmas foodie inspiration @3wDavid

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 23/09/2024 16:01

Have just started a thread for MJ Christmas ideas if anyone wants to join me 😁

Update for those of you that read my post re delayed pen, Zava have apologised for the delay, even though it wasn't their fault, and offered to send a replacement.
So 10/10 for customer service.

That's more than I have had from cloud. I strongly suspect my pen was packed Tuesday lunch time and left sitting around until picked up Friday for delivery Saturday. I've messaged them and they never respond to messages on the patient page or emails. Will never use them again.

DreamingofGinoclock · 23/09/2024 21:00

Ahhh had my first dose of 3rd 5mg pen yesterday... thought effects were wearing down ...happy to stay on 5 for this pen and have a 7.5 ready for when it's done

Just been getting some sulphur burps for the first time and now I'm worried I will get some of the other side effects that come along with those (GI and vomit) ...has anyone had sulphur burps without the other symptoms?

AutumnComing2 · 24/09/2024 06:54

@Bas16 I had the same issue but after two weeks of daily iron supplements I’ve had a marked reduction in the dizzy head on standing up so worth upping your iron intake.

doingitthistime · 24/09/2024 08:11

@Lastchancefatty
Thats awful service, this medicine isn't cheap, we deserve receive it in prime condition.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 24/09/2024 08:29

Morning all. I haven't posted in a while as I've got a bad shoulder and have been feeling sorry for myself. The weight loss has slowed down probably because I've barely moved for a couple of weeks. I did reach 180lbs this morning though which is fab and means I'm hopefully going to enter the 170s soon 😀

Can someone tell me where I find the excel sheet that’s regularly updated. Been lurking since august when I started and usually see a copy somewhere either here or Facebook but would like to know the source so it’s easier to find. Amazing that someone has done this and shared it!!

Reddit is so infuriating! When I try to see that it says "Mature content: View on App" so I go into the app and exactly the same thing happens again and again.
I did manage to get into the app on my phone and it then wanted me to click to allow mature content but then went back into the same loop 😡
Far easier to find the one on https://www.missmounjarouk.com/ website

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/09/2024 11:56

Apart from Reddit infuriating me, my weight is too!
I went up to 10mg two weeks ago because I had stalled on 7.5mg and, guess what, I'm still stalled in fact I'm a kilo heavier than I've been for the last 3 weeks I'm fuming!😤
I've just had a lovely long weekend away with friends though where I was not in control of the food and, despite being on MJ, I can still eat so I did, although not nearly as much as I would have without it.

I do not have appetite suppression as others seem to, it takes the edge off cravings and makes it easier to eat more healthily but that's about it for me.

I've always injected in my stomach apart from twice in my thigh, which I thought was less effective, and once in my arm, which was so difficult to do I lost part of the dose by being cack-handed! I'm debating a change of site to see if it helps break this stall.
I've seen a lot on TikTok say arm is better but the only clinical paper I've seen suggested the opposite. Do you reckon it's worth a try?

Thanks @Slimstar13 you are the voice of reason I need to hear!
It's just so frustrating. I'm guessing the gain is fluid retention after the eating over the weekend so, hopefully, will shift soon.
How do you manage to jab your arm as its supposed to go into the back isn't it? I might try that next week. I tried putting my arm on a cushion to push the bingo wing out but struggled to push the pen in and depress the plunger. I've seen some people say to put your arm up and get it from underneath. How do you do it? Especially if you have to do it with your non-dominant hand

I mean, you have nothing to lose. Try the other arm - I've seen the same TikToks and am tempted to try there myself next time. It doesn't seem too much of a faff, one person just put their arm up (elbow forward) and jabbed in front of the mirror, so it doesn't look too difficult.

Up your water, up your fiber, up your protein, and be patient. I know how infuriating these mini "stalls" can be, but 9 times out of 10 there is a sudden "whoosh" and BAM you're 3 kilos down in like a day. Just stay the course.

How's your partner doing @Jimmyneutronsforehead ?

He's doing very well, just had some chicken and a small amount of pasta with some lemon juice salt and pepper.

He's physically doing well but he's going through the 5 stages of grief about all the foods he can't eat any more. He keeps cycling between there are lots of delicious foods he can eat, and then thinking life is not worth living without butter.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/09/2024 13:54

@QueenOfHiraeth I have used my arms for the last 3 jabs and agree with slimstar that it seems to have a greater effect.

I stand in front of a long mirror (am short so can't see properly in the bathroom cabinet!) and flatten my arm against my side then reach around, insert the needle and push the plunger down.

I did try using my left hand to inject my right arm last week (am right handed) and found it really difficult so reckon I shall be sticking to my left for now!
