Medexpress definitely wrote to my gp and I have a copy of the letter in my nhs app

weaseleyes · 21/09/2024 12:36

They wrote to mine too. They give you a code so you can get a £40 discount if someone uses your code.

Pinkyp22 · 21/09/2024 13:24

KittyGetSmall · 21/09/2024 11:39

That's optional, if you selected to do that they will.
I declined.

I allowed it, i didn't think it was an option, the last company I used wouldn't approve your order without accepting it. Im pretty sure there was a warning about not ticking it with my latest order from curate too.

There are letters on the nhs app from independent pharmacy where I bought my first 2 pens, but not medexpress!

The problem with the medexpress referal codes thing is literally everyone is using medexpress, so there's 100s of people pushing thier codes 😂, its quite irritating on Instagram tbh every other post is.......... Use my medexpress code

imnottoofussed · 21/09/2024 13:26

I don't recall it being optional on MedExpress to be honest. It's definitely optional on cloud pharmacy

BakingNana · 21/09/2024 13:45

This has been a good week, 3 pound loss, over half way to ultimate goal, of 10stone, new clothes all size 14, really had to get some new work stuff, and nausea much better after my 4th 7.5. Going to stay on that dose for another month as it's working.

Lastchancefatty · 21/09/2024 14:47

Warning to everyone re cloud pharmacy. Pen was room temp. They'd clearly packaged on Tuesday when I first got the notice they had shipped it, and left in box until picked up Friday! Shocking. Now looking on trust pilot I see they're going downhill. They're not even that cheap. Be warned guys. Oh and they don't answer messages or emails and don't answer the phone either.

NippyCrab · 21/09/2024 14:58

NSV - we pottered around Asda earlier for a couple of things and they had this long lounge jumper, Disney MM. DH said I'm going to buy that for you to chill in, is it a 16? I said yes, as we plootered on I thought NO! I'm going to change it for a 14! And it fits! I know it's a roomy lounge thing but it still is an item of clothing I thought I'd never see that number on again. 💃
I'm going to make an effort to go swimming next week, if I go with DH once I know I will have the confidence to go myself when he's back at work. The soft flab needs a workout! 💪

Jpeg24 · 21/09/2024 21:07

Happy Saturday everyone 😌
Haven't been on in ages and only had a quick skim couldn't see anything to help.
I'm down just over 4stone to 85kg in 5 months, but at 6ft I'm happy enough at this. Don't wanna just stop MJ tho. I went to 6.5 for last 3 wks.
How should I move forward with injections??

Any help appreciated xx

NewLifter · 21/09/2024 21:29

Thanks for the replies!!! Re Zava and Oushk, very helpful!!

Wingingit11 · 22/09/2024 04:49

@Jpeg24 oushk has some useful info re maintenance options on its website. Congrats on your loss !

Lastchancefatty · 22/09/2024 07:45

So I was looking at the register for pharmacies and med express has been pulled up in the past but publishes it's report. It's just standards met, nothing outstanding. Cloud has the report published also. Standards met. Oushk and zava choose not to show their inspection reports. I don't think this should be optional but also think what do they have to hide?

Addictedtobeauty · 22/09/2024 08:00

Presumably if standards were not met they wouldn’t still be practising, though?

NippyCrab · 22/09/2024 09:34

Email from Oushk this morning re 10mg supply.

I am trying to formulate a plan...I don't want to be on MJ for Christmas/December. No way, it's my fav time of year and I want to be able to eat and drink normally. Food is a big part of it for me. So talking to DH...

My current 5mg pen will take me to October 13th - when I can do bonus dose. I am thinking of dropping to 2.5mg then to take me to end of November and not taking any in December.

Then going back on 2.5mg in January. 2.5mg was quite successful for me, I lost a stone really on 2.5mg + 3.33mg bonus dose and I have about 16-18 lbs more to lose.

Does that sound like madness? Or should I just stay on in December. I have pretty strong suppression so I am worried it really will ruin the enjoyment for me!

KrankyKumquat · 22/09/2024 11:51

@Lastchancefatty
I can't speak for Zava but I moved from Medexpress to Oushk and am very confident in their practices. Almost without exception, if someone raises an issue on their FB page, they respond very quickly and in a way I'd consider very responsibly. They encourage customers to call and discuss any worries, ask questions, don't condone going 'off script', etc. I'd be very, very surprised if something dodgy was going on behind the scenes, especially as Hira (and her husband and other staff) are so visible - I don't know any other companies where the head pharmacist is front and centre of the company like she is.

You can’t “not show” your inspection reports. Oushk is very new so probably haven't had an inspection yet and with Zava, I’m assuming they are part of Asda?

MounjaroMunchie · 22/09/2024 12:10

@SnacklessWonder I wouldn't say it was madness, but I would question if it was a good thing for you, potentially undoing your hard work. For me, absolutely not - I couldn't do it. I desperately need to change my eating habits and maintain healthy eating so that I can maintain this loss (hopefully) for life. And that includes managing what I eat, and how I feel about food and drink, during the festive season. Dealing with (what would be for me) a significant gain in January would have me spiralling, and I'd be angry with myself that I'd wasted money when I'm cutting back on other luxuries to be able to afford the jabs.

Having said all that, I TOTALLY understand why you want to do this! Would dropping down to 2.5mg instead of stopping altogether work for you, maybe? Still some suppression so you can't eat huge volumes, but maybe enough that you could enjoy smaller tastes of your favourite things?

SilenceInside · 22/09/2024 12:12

Zava have not yet been inspected by the GPhC.

Heads up for anyone doing the medexpress price match, Ashcroft pharmacy have now increased thier prices!

doingitthistime · 22/09/2024 12:32

Hello lovely helpful people. My £190 pen has been sat at my local mail centre since Thursday without moving, so there's very little chance that when it does arrive it will still be chilled. I intend to reject the pen but in anticipation of a fight with Zava, can anyone advise me of how to find that helpful statement someone posted from Eli Lilly re prescribers not being allowed to use any of the 30 days out of fridge limit? Thanks, Happy Sunday.

Pinkyp22 · 22/09/2024 12:40

@SnacklessWonder
I know you said you want to enjoy Christmas and all its food related yummness, like everyone does, but I would say being on mounjaro is about learning to enjoy food with limits, building healthy habits so that long term the weight loss can be maintained. If you stop mounjaro change no eating habits, the weight will likely go back on.
I personally wouldn't want all my hard work undone.
Maybe drop to 2.5mg and do an injection every 10 days?

SnacklessWonder · 22/09/2024 12:46

@Pinkyp22 @MounjaroMunchie I get what you are saying, however I intend to stop completely within 3 months anyway. I never intend to go on a maintenance dose so will only ever be using willpower and lifestyle changes to maintain weight.

Saying that - life happens...Christmas, all inclusive holidays and I one hundred percent accept that weight gain will happy. I've already decided in my head that 9stone is my target but maintaining I'll be happy with a fluctuation up to 9.5 stone. I've only ever put 2-3lbs on after Christmas or a holiday and I think that's perfectly acceptable, I'm not worried about that all.

I don't have any food issues - I literally just overate for 3 years and didn't move. I'm doing a lot more exercise now and changed how I eat too (low fat, high protein, low carb and more vegetarian).

Problem with being on MJ, I don't even fancy a singular glass of wine. I was at a work event this week and had one glass of wine that lasted me all evening and even then I felt I was forcing it in. I struggle to eat more than 800 calories a day a lot of the time.

That isn't realistic or sustainable in life so I do want to completely come off and use willpower and common sense moving forward! And accept that sometimes I am going to put a few lbs on - the price to pay for having a good time - and then need to spend a few weeks in working to get it back down.

I dont mean this sound mean but given all of what you've just said I wonder if taking Mounjaro was really the right thing for you in the first place?
If you have relatively little to lose, have a healthy relationship with food already, and are nit worried about gains., in the nicest possible way id say you dont really need to take mounjaro.
I am sure I could lose weight on my own, even with 4/5 stone to lose but my relationship with food is not ok and unlike you any gain would likely be detrimental to my health.

That’s annoying for you.

BUT, it’s not been very warm the last few days, and assuming you receive it on Monday, the efficacy of your pen should be totally fine. Just pop it in the fridge, and start using it when you need to start it.

I got a warm pen in the heat of summer (I think it was near 30C) and my pen was sat in a depot Fri through to Monday. I reached out to Eli Lilly for assessment and they confirmed it was good to use.
