This morning I have hit the 16s for the first time since 2012.
I only know this from my NHS app. (The lowest record of my weight is 15st from 2008. ) I spent years on and off with WW and slimming world but I've clearly blocked out the trauma as i can't remember my weights! I was brilliant at losing weight and even better at regaining plus extra.
I do remember my gp telling me back then that most people who try to lose weight fail. I was upset with him (as it was clearly true) and determined I would prove him wrong. Well, it's only taken me 16 yrs. 😄
Anyway, 13 weeks since first jab, and I'm 38lbs down.
Still 4.5 stone to go but 3 more lbs and I'll have lost 3 stone.
I really didn't think it was possible until now......

I thought no one was posting -turns out my notifications stopped working. I'm an idiot.

Feeling very deflated today. I finally saw 15 stone 0 on the scales & got so excited that I'd finally see 14 something the next day. Instead I've gained 1lb every day for the last 3 days. Nothing has changed! I'm so annoyed that every time I've tried a diet I can get some weight off then my weight either stalls or starts to increase again. My body is rubbish!
I'm now struggling to drink anything, I can't eat, my back has gone again & my bad knee has swollen so I'm feeling really miserable.
Common sense tells me I need to drink, eat & pull myself together. Just feeling very low in myself but there's problems going on in my life that I think have just dragged my mood down.

Just needed somewhere to vent where people understand the struggles of weight loss. I don't want to be fat till I die. I can't exercise due to my stupid broken body.
Sorry to be a wee rain cloud today.

Look, see how far you've come. You have a few things going on right now and are clearly not well. Give yourself a break. You are doing well. Try to be kind to yourself. It will even out and those lbs will disappear.
Our bodies are weird.
All week my weight has being going up and down 2lbs so thought I'd stay the same. And tomorriw I might be back jnto the 17s but I'll take it as I can see from my clothes and my face. ( my triple chin has gone!!)
Go simple with food. Protein of some kind and a few veg that you can tolerate. And maybe add in a probiotic. I take yakult but one of my friends swears by Symprove. Cleared up her gastric issues. (Mind you she's not on MJ)
big hug

I've had another week of no losses but no gains.

Tried to move away from daily weighing, so I'm at least pleasantly surprised that I've not put anything back on as I feel it's just been a week of carbs carbs carbs.

Going to split my 7.5mg into 5mg Sunday-Thursday and 2.5mg Thursday-Sunday, but I'm worried suppression won't be as good.

Haven't posted for a while, had a horrible dose of food poisoning that hospitalised me and my partner, he ended up with emergency surgery to remove a perforated and badly infected gallbladder, triggered by the food bacteria. it's been quite a week. We were due to go on holiday today but that's had to be cancelled.
Feeling a bit fed up but grateful my partner is on the mend, it could have been fatal.

About to order a 7.5, any hints on best price ?.currently with Med Express.

Started Jun 22nd
SW 86kg
CW 74kg
GW 65kg.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 15/09/2024 09:51

Argh! 1lb up for this weigh in. I have eaten more carbs this week too @Jimmyneutronsforehead so I'm putting it down to that and not worrying too much. Back over 13 stone but only a tiny bit.

@butterfly0404 that sounds awful, you poor thing! Glad to hear both you and your partner are getting better. Do you know what caused it? Sorry to hear about your holiday too.

butterfly0404 · 15/09/2024 09:59

@BellaCriesAndThatsAlright yes it was chicken, he was much more badly affected than me. Thank God we got to hospital when we did, he had sepsis as well.

My eating has been a bit all over the place since, looking to get back on track amd going up to 7.5 after 2 months on 5

Choux · 15/09/2024 10:25

Goodness @BellaCriesAndThatsAlright that sounds awful. Glad you are feeling better now and yes it sounds like you sought help just in time.

Was it something you are out or prepared at home? Undercooked or off? Presumably it was something pretty rare but I am asking so, if needed I can change my own cooking practices. As I'm eating less on Mounjaro I have more leftovers and it takes longer for me to cook and eat the chicken I buy. I don't want to push the limits of my food too far and make myself ill.

Hi Choux, it was me rather than Bella. It was a prepared ready meal for 2 from Tesco, in date, stored and cooked properly and we have no idea if the packaging was breached or the actual chicken was infected, we really don't know.

Choux · 15/09/2024 11:23

@butterfly0404 sorry for the misname. I knew it started with a B and that popped up first.

An in date ready meal properly stored and prepared? That's scary that it could have been fatal but no one knows how the illness really occurred. Glad you are both recovering.

KrankyKumquat · 15/09/2024 12:11

@butterfly0404
Sounds bloody awful, don't think I've ever heard anyone describe being so dangerously ill like that...You just imagine you have lots of S&D, dehydration, etc and are basically ok in a little while unless very young or old. I hope the source is being properly investigated by Public Health or whoever?

Swissrollover · 15/09/2024 13:51

I was curious if anyone has ordered a 12.5mg recently with a later expiry than October 24? Thanks.

The problem is unless there is a large ish outbreak Public health won't be Interested, they dont have resources for an isolated Incident and we have none of the meal left to test. The hospital confirmed it was bacterial gastroenteritis, we both had it and both ate the same meal and became symptomatic at the same time. It's likely he had a tetchy gallbladder but didn't know, had no symptoms at all. There was a large stone blocking the bile duct as well as the abcess and perforation. It could have erupted at any time really, it sounds like the food bacteria set it off. Just thankful it didn't happen whilst we were abroad.

He was 5 hours in surgery, usually its a 45 min to an hour op and a lovely 8inch scar to match the colon cancer scar from 6 years ago ! The main thing is he is alive, but it was a bit touch and go xx

Timetofindme · 15/09/2024 18:22

Slightly random but has anyone else found MJ has messed with their cycle at all? My periods have become more erratic over the last few years, but I'm currently really late (for me - and definitely not pregnant) so assuming it's the MJ. I've had 3 jabs so far so still on a low dose but it's the only thing I can think of!

TerfTalking · 15/09/2024 19:29

Not updated for sometime, although I had good intentions to leave a weekly update, for myself as much as anyone else.

Started 15th June at 13 stone 3lbs
92 days later I’m 10 stone 10lbs

total lost 2.5 stone.

there is nothing in my wardrobe (except for a pair of 15 year old bootleg Levi’s) that I can’t get into.

I just upped to 7.5 last Friday, most of my loss has been on 5mg, and I feel absolutely awful, wiped out today, nauseous, exhausted, zero appetite.

Uggh. Next week I’m going to split the dose, 5mg on Friday and 2.5 on a Tuesday. See if that helps with the sickness.

good luck everyone you’re doing great.

Thank you. I made myself eat 3 times today & drink fluids to reset myself. I've a probiotic powder to take as it's allergen free but haven't taken it in a few weeks so must restart.

Ah ok does seem likely to be the MJ then. Thanks! Hoping it doesn't last longer than usual as I'm currently on holiday and had been hoping it would be early so as to not be a pain. Sods law eh!

Pinkyp22 · 15/09/2024 20:26

@MamaBearH @Timetofindme
Since being on mounjaro, my periods are becoming more regular - I do have PCOS, so this probably points to me being insulin resistant I guess.

Pinkbendyman · 15/09/2024 20:35

For those of us with Zava, you might remember I messaged them enquiring about their maintenance plan (to see if they’d be changing from their current stance to stop prescribing once a healthy BMI is reached) also mentioning Oushk’s choice of 3 maintenance plans.

No, basically Zava haven’t changed their maintenance plan and will stop prescribing MJ to customer’s who are within their healthy BMI range.

This is the full reply (which took almost 4 weeks to reach me?!?!)

Interesting new report on the lack of support for those with obesity across much of the country.

I’m really not surprised our local area is 2-3 years waiting list just for access to weight management I’ve given up and saved to pay myself shocking service for something that’s cost the NHS so much

4 bloody weeks to reply! I need to check when I messaged them with the same question. I haven't got a response yet. Good to know their stance finally!

I already plan to leave them, but this seals it for me for sure!

Bloody ridiculous them saying it's not necessary to reduce dose gradually. They really are clueless and haven't kept up with the research at all.

30not13 · 15/09/2024 21:38

Shocking response from zava.

I am planning on switching to oushk for my next order as I like their plans for maintaining
