Hello lovely ladies, hope you're all doing well. I haven't posted since getting back from holiday over a week ago, had a night out with work last Tuesday night and was so hungover. I've not lost any weight since before going on holiday, I'm 100% positive it was due to being on holiday, eating things I wouldn't normally eat and excess alcohol. I had really bad stomach pains, wind, indigestion etc, that's all gone now that I'm back to eating clean and not drinking, back on the wagon! Which I probably wouldn't have done without the MJ. Hopefully the weight loss will start back up now. I've lost 11.6kg since the 28th June, and have the same again to go to get me back to 60kg, although I'd be happy with 65kg I think.

@MamaBearH it is a nice feeling being able to ignore that. I go to a lot of horse competitions, the burger vans were always my downfall, but don't bother me in the slightest now. I took a banana with me on Sunday, and didn't even eat that!

I have just seen a post on Reddit that the General Phamaceutical Council are tightening the regulations that apply to online pharmacies who prescribe weight loss medications. This is obviously in response to some irresponsible use and some prescribers not being rigorous enough which we have debated on here before. I think we can all expect to be put through a more rigorous process to obtain our jabs in the future. There is a link below if you want to see more.

New GPhC weight loss regs: Online patient forms must be ‘supplemented’

The pharmacy regulator has announced plans to consult on a raft of “additional safeguards” that online pharmacies offering weight loss drugs must provide, including verifying information provided by patients.

Hello, finally plucked up the courage to order Mounjaro after reading these encouraging threads for several weeks, and injected my first 2.5g on Saturday night.
It is astonishing how the food noise just vanishes. I found it difficult to eat on Sunday, but I'm not sure if that was the placebo effect of knowing I'd taken it. I've definitely noticed my cravings for crisps and chocolate - my downfall - are significantly reduced.
For those asking about expiry dates, I had one of the extended expiry date notes with my first pen (dated Sept 2024) and queried this during my online consultation session yesterday after seeing someone comment on here they'd contacted the manufacturer (EL), who'd denied the extension of expiry dates, and been given an apology and £20 refund. My provider Voy said it's specific to certain batches and has been approved by the MHRA.
Voy were pretty strict with their approval process. I had to send two photos and they would not prescribe until I'd explained why the surname on my passport (married name) was different to the name I'd applied in.
Anyway, thank you for inspiring me to give it a go. I've only told my husband due to negative comments about weight loss jabs from others.

Hey guys,

I've taken 3 doses of 2.5mg so far but I'm unsure whether I've actually felt any difference.

The hunger pangs haven't gone away nor the feeling of full.

I can eat a meal, feel full then and hour and bit later feel hungry again.

Paranoid if it's because of an expired pen (where they extended the date) etc

I'm due my 4th dose on Friday.

SnacklessWonder · 10/09/2024 15:32

You're still meant to feel hungry. I feel hungry a lot of the time, but I am just able to control my eating better and I don't have cravings.

If the expiry date is September ‘24 then it doesn’t expire until the end of September. 2.5mg isn’t a therapeutic dose and lots of people won’t feel a difference, or it will be very minimal.

Anyone else feeling absolutely freezing now the weather has turned?

I'n usually on the warm side - but now feel like I've got cold in my bones!

LucyBnotG · 10/09/2024 16:54

@katinthehattt Oh my goodness, me too! So chilly. I've had to break out the thermals and winter blankets early as I work from home. I can't tell if the cold is a side effect or because it's actually bloody freezing.

Absolutely freezing
Had the fleece blanket and a hot water bottle on the bed last night 😶

katinthehattt · 10/09/2024 17:34

@LucyBnotG @Pinkyp22 I nearly cracked and went for a bath mid-afternoon just to warm up, but I've now got the oven on for tea so I'm clinging to that Wink

The fluffy pjs are out tonight

@FarriersGirl I've just been down the rabbit hole of the pharmacy articles on GLP1 regulation. I don't know if you can see them all (I think you may need to be registered to get beyond the front few) but, apparently, 3 pharmacists have been disciplined for unsafe online prescribing and Curate and Medexpress warned about use of discount codes and influencers.

A friend of mine has a pharmacy and was telling me this week that they are introducing consultations (video or F2F for online prescribing). Apparently the MHRA have said that discount codes must stop for use against medication although they can be used for discount on consultations. It will be interesting to see how long this takes and if it happens. My experience is that pharmacy regulators are fairly toothless though

SquigletChocolatePotato · 10/09/2024 20:01

First post in the MJ thread and just wanted to ask if my side effects are normal?! I know that the 2.5mg dose isn’t supposed to be therapeutic, so maybe it was a placebo effect, but I did notice a distinct loss of appetite and desire for late night snacks and chocolate. Had no side effects at 2.5mg. I’ve just taken my second dose of 5mg and I feel so ill. It’s now Tuesday evening and I took it Saturday morning. I’ve had awful awful stomach pain since Saturday afternoon. A griping pain that comes and goes in intensity but has been there constantly for almost 4 days. It hurts in my back as well. I’ve had bad diarrhoea, and can’t eat more than a couple of mouthfuls without feeling sick and the stomach pain intensifying. Because I’ve hardly eaten anything for days I also feel dizzy, tired and weak now, but that’s a result of not enough food I’m sure. Does this sound ‘normal’? If so, I don’t think I can continue. I have a toddler to look after and I just can’t move or function properly 😓

I don't want to be alarmist but severe abdominal pain which radiates to the back could be related to gallstones or the pancreas. It might be advisable to contact your provider or GP for advice.
It probably isn't, as it is quite rare, but my provider actually have a question on their reorder questionnaire "Have you had abdominal pain that goes through to your back" so it's worth checking

FarriersGirl · 11/09/2024 07:32

@QueenOfHiraeth thank you for the extra information on pharmacies. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I'm usually a socks off person, but I have actually bought 5 different pairs of thundathighs to put on over my leggings.

I'm wearing a pair now and they're so comfortable.

Sorry if I've missed this, did a quick scan but couldn't see anything recent. Does anyone know who's doing cheapest 7.5? Need to do a med express price match so hoping someone has it at hand before I do the big trawl tonight 😁

Time4changeagain · 11/09/2024 13:54

@mjdle
ashcroft pharmacy is £150 but think curate is slightly cheaper

A question for medexpress users. I need to order my 2nd pen. Do I ‘reorder’ and will it give me the chance to go up to the 5, or do I need to do a new order?
And how long between ordering and receiving at the moment? I am trying to time the delivery for a Friday or Saturday!
Thank you!

MelainesLaugh · 11/09/2024 18:24

Has anyone found any insulin syringes with a needle shorter than 8mm? The thought of having a needle double the size of the one for my pen fills me with dread.

It will be bonus dose next week if I do. Big IF! lol

You just reorder and once you've answered questions it should give you options for what pen you want to order.
