Anyone else have what feels like cystitis? I had a few days where I didn't drink enough due to travelling a very long distance and availability of fluids. I have been drinking gallons since but I can't seem to kick it. It's low level at the moment but still unpleasant.

InspectorGidget · 09/09/2024 16:08

Is there an up to date tracker with all the current prices please?

I do have a 15% off ZAVA code as someone kindly used my code so just need to work out the best place to buy my next pen. If I use the ZAVA I'll do a double order but as I've stayed on 5mg with a higher dose pen I need to work out what's the best way to order!

I'm going to be on this train for a long time yet so I do need the best deals!

Pinkyp22 · 09/09/2024 16:43

I know there was some talk of mounjaro raising the heart beat a while ago but didn't pay too much attention at the time.
Has anyone experienced this?
Since taking my first dose of 7.5mg on Friday my blood pressure has been on the low side and my heart rate today has consistently been between 105-115!
I have no idea what my heart rate is usually as I have not monitored it in years but my bp is not usually on the low side

@Choux @Swissrollover @EricCatman reading about your reactions at injection sites. I may have said this before but there are more reactions caused by alcohol swabs than by most injections. A lot of people think you need to swab the skin but it is really not needed for subcut use so, if you are swabbing the skin I'd suggest stopping and see if it improves

Can I please ask anyone who gets side effects, is there usually a specific time after injection they hit? I haven't had any adverse effects so far other than a vague nausea here and there without a pattern.
I am about to go up to 10mg and planned to move my injection day forward from Wed to Mon so will be injecting after 5 days rather than 7 but have a busy week coming up with motorway journeys of about 1hr each way on Wed and Thurs. Does that sound risky? In my head Monday sounded less risky than Tuesday but I just don't know

@QueenOfHiraeth so good to see you! And may I say I just love the way you encourage the hive mind! Fwiw I’ve only just started getting the dreaded side effects. It was after my first 7.5mg dose which I took on Thursday night. I trotted around perfectly happily on the Friday, thinking bloody marvellous, appetite suppression for the first time and no other side effects. Then the burps started on Saturday morning. Then the diarrhoea on Saturday night. I thought it would never end. Imodium on the Sunday morning stopped it immediately and it hasn’t come back 😮‍💨. So the worst of the effects, for me, were 48 hours after injection. I haven’t read the rest of the thread yet and I’m interested to see if there are patterns in people’s answers!

@Pinkyp22 hello! Yes, both my resting heart rate and pulse rate have gone up a lot. Resting heart rate from 55 to 67 over the 11 weeks I’ve been dosing, and my pulse rate is ridiculous on the slightest exertion (although it doesn’t feel it; if it weren’t for my Fitbit telling me I’m clocking up active minutes when all I’ve done is stroll to the loo, I wouldn’t be aware of it). Despite this my blood pressure is significantly lower than it was. Go figure…

Ifyounevergiveup · 09/09/2024 17:03

@Jimmyneutronsforehead thank you for your two most recent posts , they both made me laugh out loud, particularly the near miss ruck in Asda…!

@EricCatman I can see where my last three or four injections were but they are fading slowly I think. The most recent injection site is red and a bit itchy - the mark is about 3 inches by 1 inch so the drug must have spread after being injected.

I’ve felt mine spread to the left. 😂

I noticed on my pillow app that my heart rate has risen a bit.

NippyCrab · 09/09/2024 18:35

I've sent Oushk an email asking about low absorption on medications. I've to call tomorrow after 12pm, I thought I was okay and mood was stable but last week I've felt particularly low and also a tad irrational. I was speaking to my Husband today, he works away, and he said he had noticed a difference in the last two weeks bless him. So I was wondering that now this is week 6, that it could be affecting the absorption of my Sertraline and Quetiapine 🙄

QueenOfHiraeth · 09/09/2024 20:26

@NippyCrab This professional factsheet says:
"Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) delays gastric emptying and therefore has the potential to affect the rate of absorption of concomitantly administered oral medicines. This should be considered for oral medicines for which a rapid onset of effect is of importance. No dose adjustments are expected to be required for most concomitantly administered oral medicines. However, it is recommended to monitor patients on oral medicines with a narrow therapeutic index (e.g. warfarin, digoxin), especially during initiation of tirzepatide and following any dose increases."

I don't think either sertraline or quetiapine have a narrow therapeutic index but it would sound likely they may be affected. You may need to ask GP to adjust dose.
Interestingly this document also suggests changes to contraception which I haven't seen before that may interest some.

NippyCrab · 09/09/2024 20:48

@QueenOfHiraeth I had read about the contraception but I didn't think anything else would be affected. I hope it's not, I'm happy on 2.5mg anyway so there's no plan to increase my dose. I'll see what they say tomorrow and report back. Thank you for replying and I will go and click the link xx

Hi! Have been on the June starter thread and posted about getting my first proper bout of side effects for the last 24 hours.

Just to add to the anecdotal evidence, I did my fourth 7.5mg jab on Friday morning, and started to feel rough yesterday evening - so about 52/54 hours? Hoping someone will be able to reassure me its likely to settle down soon!

greenmillions · 09/09/2024 21:30

I'm fed up again.

I missed 1 dose and delayed the next by 3 days whilst I was on holiday because the constipation was bad and I wasted an entire morning sitting in my cabin waiting for the lactose to work and I wasn't prepared to keep doing it.

I put on 6lbs but 4 had gone by the day after I got back so I'm now 2lbs up from the day before I left. That's fine but there's been no movement at all since then. Over a week now. It's frustrating.

I'm on 3.75 but think I might go to 5 on Thursday. I've been drinking enough. Im eating 1200-1400 calories a day. I need to up my steps a bit but it's just frustrating that nothings going on.

I'm just having a moan

AnnieMcFanny · 09/09/2024 22:06

@NippyCrab i have a son who’s on antipsychotic's and various medicines affect how they work. One particular medicine reduced the efficiency of another one by about 40 percent and he ended up in a sky high off list dose of the latter in order to get the correct dose of medication into him.

I think what you're describing is quite normal. I had my birthday towards the end of August, I literally had a pizza in a restaurant and half a chocolate chip cookie and my weight has stayed the same for two weeks, today is the first time the scales have moved and only by just over half a pound down 🙄. It's annoying but not unexpected. If it were me I would move up to 4.25mg this week rather than bumping it right up to 5mg out of frustration.

Tireduk · 10/09/2024 07:01

TempusFuckit I also started in June and have been lucky, I’ve not had any real side effects at all. Constipation like others and weight loss up and down but a good loss, but since moving up to 7.5 I’m now waking up in the night, cannot sleep, stomach distended, bloated and feeling really weird. I haven’t over eaten, I had fish and salad last night, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Stomach feels dreadful, feel unwell. I might actually eat more today and think about lining my stomach in some way as I don’t feel good. So you’re not alone! I’m hoping I feel much better soon and have a full nights sleep. Others have also mentioned not sleeping, I’m determined to carry on although want to get back to normal.

I'm hoping that I'm having a dip for other reasons but I can't think of anything else that's affected me. I've been stable for months and felt great on MJ. When I look back on the last few weeks I have been reactive and irrational to trivial situations 😂 I shouldn't laugh because it's horrible, distressing for everyone. My husband says the situations haven't been trivial as such but I've been great at dealing with things and now I'm not. Thank you for telling me about your son, I hope I don't have to adjust my meds xxz

Urgh sounds horrid - and yep, very similar to what I had. But - I've woken up this morning and feeling loads better. So hang on in there! The worst lasted 36 hours for me

InspectorGidget · 10/09/2024 10:11

Just 0.5lb off this week (it was showing as 1.5 on Saturday but I've had a couple of bad* days so that tells me it was time to go up - I've added a few more clicks and gone from 5mg to 6.25mg so will see how I get on.

18 weeks and I'm 25lbs down - chasing that elusive 2 stone.

Still such a long way to go and I've just used my last Zava Code so I'll pop to the promo boards and hope someone is kind enough to help out for next time!

@JuvenileBigfoot I had to chuckle when you mentioned the tattoos! Sorry! I have to psych myself up each week to do mine and I did my 8th injection yesterday. Was it as bad as you thought it was going to be?

Not at all, I barely felt it!

What a wimp!

MamaBearH · 10/09/2024 13:46

Hello
Last week on 2.5 I was a bit constipated for a few days & this week on the 5th leftover dose (approx 3mg) I've gone several times a day every day. I just hope stepping up to 5 doesn't give me the runs. I've a headache this week again too but thankfully food noise and suppression is good. I actually went to a lovely coffee shop yesterday that I usually get a gluten free scone or tray bake from but all I had was peppermint tea while my friend had a panini with side salad, a bun and a large cappuccino. Felt good to not want the bad stuff. Normally my stomach would be upset after going there as they still use dairy in their gluten free bakes so I didn't want to risk harsh effects from MJ. It was just nice to enjoy meeting a friend without all the extra stuff going on in my head\body.
Anyone else have wee moments along the way that just help to spur you on and make you thankful for finding MJ?
