Had my second 7.5mg dose tonight because I forgot yesterday, doh. Need to sacrifice something to the gods for no side effects during the school run tomorrow.

Had put the pasta weight on this morning and have probably eaten over my calorie limit today too however it was mostly lean protein that I've eaten today so I don't feel terrible. DDog is still having a hard time, so have been quite busy.

I did think I'd have to fight this lady for the last extra tasty cooked chicken from ASDA earlier though. She was walking fastly towards it, I was walking fastly towards it, she got to the counter first and my heart was thudding because it's what I've been looking forward to all week and I started envisioning throwing hands in the ASDA mentally preparing myself for war.

Thankfully she picked up a bag of cooked drumsticks because after the weekend I've had it might just have been the thing that sent me.

After tea I felt a lot less fraught.

How did it go? Well I hope.😊

I had to really psych myself up, but I did it in the end.

Utterly ridiculous, I have 6 tattoos!

SnacklessWonder · 08/09/2024 17:24

Okay, help. I have just syringed out the last of my 2.5mg pen and there is '80' is that 0.8ml and what does that equate too? Maths is not my strong point 😂

I'm glad I saw this cause I got 0.77ml today out of my 2.5mg pen. Despite Google & all the tables etc I just couldn't work out what my dose was. Seeing you say 0.8 was 3.33, I'm guessing I had just over 3mg. Hopefully it'll help the jump to 5mg not feel as harsh.

LucyBnotG · 08/09/2024 23:32

@JuvenileBigfoot I had to chuckle when you mentioned the tattoos! Sorry! I have to psych myself up each week to do mine and I did my 8th injection yesterday. Was it as bad as you thought it was going to be?

So sorry to hear it, Bella. @Pinkyp22 and I are both suffering from our first 7.5mgs at the moment. I’ve just had a packet of king prawns (great for the protein, @GoodLuckBabe ) and that’s it, that’s lunch. I would never have thought I could feel that 180g of food was a bit too much…!

@MaiAamWaliHun sorry if you already know, but if you have a runny tummy Imodium will put you right. I was up four times in the night thinking it would never stop. Two tablets once Tesco opened (thank God for Sunday opening!) and I’m right as rain. Amazing stuff.

Oh I am also suffering with side effects from my first 7.5mg. I’m glad it’s not just me, and it’s also nice that there are some others at the same point in the journey as me. I’m feeling so nauseous, and I’m visiting my OH’s family at the moment so trying to keep it to myself to avoid awkward questions.

@BellaCriesAndThatsAlright you and I seem to be in the same boat with MedExpress too. I hope you’ve got your parcel now, mine was delivered to a neighbour who was away for a night so I got a warm soggy box the following day. Still cold ish though, and faster dispatch than yours seems to have been. I’m sorry you’re feeling grim. Solidarity hugs!

Has any one found anything that has particularly worked for their constipation?

I've tried psyllium husk and I'm definitely getting my fluid intake in.

Dried apricots used to help but I've been trying to steer clear of them because of the sugar content in them.

@QueenOfHiraeth I wouldn't both go up a dose AND bring my injection forward. If you are concerned you will get side effects do it on Thursday night instead this week and then go back to Weds next week.

Thanks @Choux that makes sense and I know what you are saying is logical. The problem is that I don't know if I might get side effects or not, that's why I was hoping someone may have a clue about timescales of when they hit if they are going to.

I stayed on 7.5 for a second month as I had some nausea in weeks 3/4 of my first one but, with hindsight, I think it was more due to stress and irregular eating (that situation is now resolved). I've struggled on the second lot of 7.5 for most of it and haven't lost weight for 2 weeks so I'm just desperate to move on...

Lastchancefatty · 09/09/2024 05:58

It was my mums birthday yesterday and we went for a meal. Luckily I am not having great suppression at the moment so I was able to mask what I'm doing. Afterwards whem we went to her place she wheeled out a huge cake and I had a piece. It was nice but a bit much. I would usually have more and she sent us home with a great chunk which I've already given to my kids to share out over the next couple of days. Usually it wouldn't be safe around me and my youngest was definitely nervous that his share would be eaten while he was at school 😳 I've confidently reassured them that it's just for them to share and no one else will eat oy. After the theme park on Saturday I'm a bit worried I have eaten really poorly this weekend and will gain. Also I didn't drink nearly enough and I have a cystitis feeling down below. Queue gallons of water today! I'm not sure why I'm sharing all this to be honest but I hope everyone has a great week ahead x

Swissrollover · 09/09/2024 06:30

QueenOfHiraeth · 08/09/2024 22:48

@Choux @Swissrollover @EricCatman reading about your reactions at injection sites. I may have said this before but there are more reactions caused by alcohol swabs than by most injections. A lot of people think you need to swab the skin but it is really not needed for subcut use so, if you are swabbing the skin I'd suggest stopping and see if it improves

Can I please ask anyone who gets side effects, is there usually a specific time after injection they hit? I haven't had any adverse effects so far other than a vague nausea here and there without a pattern.
I am about to go up to 10mg and planned to move my injection day forward from Wed to Mon so will be injecting after 5 days rather than 7 but have a busy week coming up with motorway journeys of about 1hr each way on Wed and Thurs. Does that sound risky? In my head Monday sounded less risky than Tuesday but I just don't know

Like @Choux, I don't swab my skin, just the red seal, but thanks for the suggestion. I can see 3 currently on my stomach.

It's weird, but when the new one starts itching a day after the injection, the previous one on the opposite side starts itching a little again too.

Prune juice is pretty effective (I reckon 100-150ml) but it might not meet your sugar requirements.

The worst of my side effects are usually the day after injecting.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 09/09/2024 07:15

I did not sleep a wink last night, it felt like I was being cooked alive.

I'm going to get up, grab a drink, get DS to school and then get back in bed and ride it out.

Also got a little bit of heartburn this morning but nothing I can't handle.

If these are the side effects though they're still milder than last week where it felt like I'd entered all 9 circles of hell on a spit roast.

SecondFavouriteDinosaur · 09/09/2024 07:32

Speaking of side effects, I’m on my 6th week of 7.5. I injected yesterday, couldn’t sleep last night due to nausea and I’ve just been sick multiple times. I don’t think it’s a bug as I don’t feel ‘ill’, just extremely nauseous.

SnacklessWonder · 09/09/2024 08:00

Officially I've lost 1.8lb in the past week, however I lost that on Tuesday and my scales have even the same ever since. No change to fat v muscle either so it's not that. I need to drink more water so will focus on that this week but it's frustrating to be tracking everything, and not see any progress for a week. Fingers crossed for a drop during this week.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 09/09/2024 08:23

@Peggy148 I got it after a week. I complained and they responded just after it was delivered offering me a free pen. It was still cold which was a surprise.

Just have to share a small victory. I've lost 0.2lbs this morning and now weight 12st 18.8. I'm in the 12s!!

NippyCrab · 09/09/2024 09:20

Good morning, weirdly I've started having a reaction at my injection sites with dose 5 and 6. Dose 6 today is raised, hard and itchy and has also come with a super dodgy scooty bum 😂 absolutely horrific. I had to cancel my bloods appointment this morning because I was still indisposed in the loo. For anyone that has had reactions like dodgy tummies I'm so sympathetic right now.

KrankyKumquat · 09/09/2024 09:40

@NippyCrab
when i had a skin reaction (extremely itchy across my whole midriff), pharmacist recommended moving injection to thighs. Skin on belly is very thin, sensitive and soft compared to legs which makes sense. Did this (was surprised how easy injecting into top of thighs was), and this gave tummy skin some time to calm down and heal (I scratched it quite badly in my sleep).

I've always injected on my thighs alternating legs and sites each jag. Isn't it weird how different injection sites give varied reactions. Maybe my skin is thinner on my legs but I'm feart to inject on my tummy.x

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 09/09/2024 10:29

I had a horrible itchy reaction to my first 7.5. I don't seem to be getting one with my second though.

In the 12s is amazing, something I can only dream of at present!

There's only 14lbs in a stone though, did you mean 12st 13.8? 😉

Oops, yes!

Choux · 09/09/2024 11:04

This is my reaction from the injection I did last Weds evening so almost 5 days ago now. Finger included for scale. You can also see a darker mark further up the photo which is the injection site from almost three weeks ago.

They do fade eventually but it's the size of them that fascinates me. No idea what the physiological reason for them is.

Choux · 09/09/2024 11:06

Well done @BellaCriesAndThatsAlright. It feels great to pass those stone markers.

I hope you do the stone conversions into pounds too as you are close to dropping under 180lbs. Another achievement when you get there in the next week or two!

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 09/09/2024 11:08

Thanks @Choux I can't wait to get under 180lbs!

Your marks are different to mine. Mine is almost perfectly circular and the size of a penny. The itching kept me awake last week.

MabelSpan · 09/09/2024 12:00

@Jimmyneutronsforehead Prunes are great for constipation. I try to remember to eat 4/5 each day. If I forget, I have 7 and that always guarantees a full movement the next day! Figs also work, though I havent personally tried them.
