@HeBeaverandSheBeaver is it worth just dropping into conversation "not for me, I'm on a diet" to biscuits or something just to prompt an observation?

Wishthiswasntmypost · 06/09/2024 18:45

No one has noticed mine at work 🤷‍♀️

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 06/09/2024 18:50

@Wishthiswasntmypost

That's it though they know I've been cutting back tho I've not mentioned the inj so it's not a secret.

Oh well. Seeing a different bunch tonight so they may say something x

Wishthiswasntmypost · 06/09/2024 19:13

It is a bit weird but as I say I've not had it noted either. In a way I'm glad...maybe they didn't note the increase either 😄

DamnItBetsy · 06/09/2024 19:22

Finally some weight loss that isn’t less than half a pound! 3lbs this week.

SW 169.8lbs
CW 161.4lb
GW 149 lb

total loss in 7 weeks - 8.4lbs
still to lose - 12.4lbs

MyPearlMentor · 06/09/2024 23:54

@ChaChaChooey & @Marmalade100 I also feel like a “maintenance” dose might be helpful for me, especially as I have lost weight before & then put it all back on. Be interested to hear what they have to say to you - I still have 8kg / 18lbs to hit the top end of a healthy BMI & was hoping to go down another 2kg / 5lbs as “insurance”.

Well done everyone who has continued to lose weight this week, @Ilovethewild 2 stone in 2 months is fab! :-)

All very good points @Xiaoxiong and I agree completely. I used to weigh myself every day and really keep an eye on my weight, mainly because I was trying to increase my muscle weight and reduce body fat. As Covid hit and it became harder to exercise (gym was closed etc), I easily drifted into bad habits and stopped weighing myself. And exercising. And started to wear more loose, comfy clothes (mainly due to wfh etc) and the weight crept on and I didn't realise at first. Until suddenly there was a lot of weight to lose and I was too demoralised (and angry with myself), and it just continued spiralling. Getting on the scales to start MJ was horrific. And the photos aargh! I almost didn't start because I refused to take photos of myself.

However, glad that I made myself do it as almost 8 weeks later I'm 20 pounds lighter. And it seems to have helped me reset my emotional eating, or at least find some self-discipline. Still a long way to go but if things carry on like this, I'll be back to my 'fighting weight' in time for Christmas.

Same here - I need to get back into the habit of weekly weighing & tackling any gains before they get out of control! Also targeting mid Dec for the end results… although maybe staying on the medication until Jan if possible might work!

I’m going to contact them tomorrow re switching (don’t expect them to respond until
Monday/Tuesday but DD is out with her dad on Sunday so I will have space to compose an email!)

Will let you all know what happens - I hope to find a provider who will let me go to BMI 23 and then wean off slowly, who will let me restart if I regain 10-14lb (rather than go all the way back up to BMI 27-30). Just hoping to find medium to long term back up to maintain a middlingly healthy BMI, basically.

Wishthiswasntmypost · 08/09/2024 08:46

I've got my bonus dose tomorrow...not surenhow much that is. I need to brose and find a calculator for it. Maybe skip it if it's below 5mg?

Alternative is just bin it in favour of moving to pen with guaranteed 5mg

I thought the bonus dose was always just a wee bit extra? On my fourth (so last dose) of my 2.5mg pen, I injected the 2.5mg then clicked again until it stopped. I worked out (from click charts on another thread) it was an extra 0.8mg so injected that too. That meant month 1 was wk1 2.5mg, wk2 2.5mg, wk3 2.5mg, wk4 3.3mg.

Is there more than that? Did I miss some?

ToriMJ · 08/09/2024 11:26

Morning all Grin

I'm back from my break.
I did 4 weeks of mj from Mid July. Then I've been off it for nearly 5 weeks in total.
I've put on 2lb in that time, including 2 weeks abroad eating whatever I like. I still feel much less urge to eat huge amounts and have barely touched alcohol, have started drinking coffee again which I totally went off on mj.

Planning to restart my new 2.5mg pen this week and hopefully see some big losses again Star

I've done my bonus dose today but no idea how much I've taken. I used a syringe and there was 0.62 in there rather than 0.6.

How do I work out what (if any) I need to take to get up to a full 5mg dose?

Wishthiswasntmypost · 08/09/2024 12:30

Welcome back @ToriMJ

I saw details of calculating the bonus dose the other day but can't find it now

Wishthiswasntmypost · 08/09/2024 12:35

Found it!

@ToriMJ welcome back and well done on more or less maintaining. Sounds like you managed the holiday well, hope you had some fun too.

@poppym12 and @Wishthiswasntmypost I just tried mine and I could only get 5 clicks from it. There was a bit left but too cowardly to try a syringe.

I am going up to 7.5mg today… not 100% sure that’s wise as I have a brutal travel week at work with 4 flights starting at 4am tomorrow but hey….

SW 85kg
CW 75kg - TEN KILOS LOST, omg!!!
GE 68-64kg (BMI 25 or 24)

I also went through my wardrobe yesterday & took some of my XL/size 16 & 18 dresses to the local 2nd hand shop. To be comfortably back in a size 14 is exactly where I was pre-Covid lockdown and I feel ELATED!

poppym12 · 08/09/2024 13:33

Thank you @Wishthiswasntmypost and @MyPearlMentor. I'll see how I go and do a small top up if I feel I need to.

MyPearlMentor · 08/09/2024 14:10

@ChaChaChooey just seen on another thread Oushk Pharmacy - they have 3 really clear plans for maintenance which look ideal. Check it out!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 08/09/2024 14:16

Hi all
Well done on your goals this week.

So far kept weight stable over
Weekend. Dh is now travelling for work till Thursday so I gave 3 clear days and 4 nights to stay under 1000cals.

Have 5 doses in fridge plus the
Bonus doses so I may switch to maintaining if I can get the last few pounds off.

MzHz · 08/09/2024 18:27

Checking in again. Day 1 of 7.5mg

so far so good. I felt that there was very little suppression the last couple of days

im really struggling to keep on top of food and water vs exercise

I’ve not lost much in the last couple of weeks and wonder if I’m stalling the loss by burning too much in exercise

have contacted my juniper health coach and sent her my food and energy diary so will see what she says

im advised to have 1400 Calories a day, and mostly I can get close to this, but not much more tbh so if I swim or work out I’ve burnt a 1000

coach said initially 1800 calories a day, which (a) seems a lot anyway but I don’t think I can actually consume that much food

anyone got any ideas?

im trying to up protein by adding shakes and clear whey to my day and trying to aim for 3l a day of water

at least the constipation seems to have lessened but I’m stalled. I know that this happens to everyone at some time or another so will keep on doing what I’m doing and wait for the whoosh 🤣 I’ve lost 1kg in the last couple of weeks

could that be the exercise and muscle?

oh btw, my ds asked if I’d ever used ChatGPT for anything and I hadn’t. So downloaded it and asked it for a weeks food plan for a mounjaro diet of 1400 cal per day

what came back wasn’t perfect but did give some great suggestions (and calorie content!) was well impressed 🙂

MzHz · 08/09/2024 18:33

Total weight lost 9.5kg

start date 16/7/24
SW 101 kg
cw 92 kg
GW 60kg

i bought some skorts for a holiday like 7 years ago. Never wore them, they were way too tight and I cba to take them back. I tried them on yesterday they fit! They looked great actually!

im back in jeans and work trousers which fit better than they did even when I bought them back in 2019.

ive got a gala dinner to attend at the end of the year. The size 20 dress I’ve bought isn’t going to be any use at all now huh?

I can probably go to an actual shop and try things - many things - on, not just from meagre pickings in frumpy plus size either.

trouble is… I don’t know what size I’ll be then. No point in buying anything now! I’ll have to wait. 😀

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 08/09/2024 18:41

@MzHz

Wow that's impressive!

Wishthiswasntmypost · 08/09/2024 18:49

No new clothes but my trousers waistband is bunched under a tight belt. No need to undo button or zip as they just slide down. Lots of tops I couldn't wear because my tum was too big now fit. I weigh what did 3 yrs ago. 13 yrs ago I was 12kg less

Wishthiswasntmypost · 08/09/2024 21:03

Tonight has felt like MJ doesn't exist. Hungry, snacky, fancy a drink.... jab tomorrow so obviously has worn off. I've resisted. Cup of tea and a rice cake but I could listbwhat I've fantasised about 🤐

I’ve very much felt like that on 5mg. Today was 7.5 so let’s see if that changes things

Xiaoxiong · 09/09/2024 09:46

I'm the same today and due my jab tomorrow so it's certainly the tail-end of effectiveness when I start thinking too much about food and snacking out of boredom/habit. I'm trying to treat the last 2 days of the week as practice for maintaining these lifestyle changes without the help of the mounjaro.

I've lost weight from places I didn't even realise I needed to - I wore a silk shirt yesterday that I hadn't been able to wear for at least a year and it's not just looser around the tum, it's also across my back, upper arms, and my boobs have reduced as well - hurrah!!
