So today I feel like I have been hit with a bus! Day 4 of week 6 feels like day 2 of week 1! Strange - really do not understand this MJ at all. I have weighed and I am 1.5 down from last weigh so 12.5 all together. Could I have lost that within this same time without MJ? Yes. Would it have been x10 more difficult? Yes. So trying to justify it that way. I think after this pen I am done though I can't feel like I can't function it's also the low mood that gets me. Anyone else?????

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 29/08/2024 08:55

Teeny loss again

I'm fluctuating the same pound over and over. Away for one night this weekend and determined to get into the 67 kilos rather than 68 so must be good!!! Will be walking a lot so hope that helps.

Well done all that are still plodding on.

Week 6 and not much movement again this week. Only reasons I can think of for this is:

-not eating enough (average about 1000-1100 cals a day)

  • yesterday I went on a 17.5km training walk in the blistering heat, totally unprepared with little food and water
  • since having my hormonal coil changed to a copper coil in May I've been having intermittent spotting, so could be hormones

I'm just about getting 2l of water in a day, which is a massive change from before, so no way my body can handle anymore of the horrible stuff lol 🤢

I will keep ploughing on. Suppression isn't that strong anymore, but too many side effects to go up to 5mg. It's hard not to get discouraged when you're eating a lot better etc but not seeing the results. I feel like I need to see an improvement to justify the cost 😪

I might weigh myself midweek this week as well. It's hard waiting a whole week in anticipation and being disappointed 😂 I just need to be grateful that it's going in the right direction I suppose, but the price is a massive sting when I wouldn't say the jabs are making watching what I eat any easier at the moment as I can't move up to a higher strength due to side effects 🤯

I hear you 😏 I weighed this morning confident of a loss. Nope

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn · 29/08/2024 08:12

Erm, I really bloody hope not! 😅

🤣🤣🤣

Wishthiswasntmypost · 29/08/2024 18:23

@sjlounjaro no low mood here. Today I've had more energy and so I'm feeling more positive. No weight loss despite 2 days <1000 cals. So that's annoying. I'm still hopeful of losing more and I feel slimmer so don't understand the scales.

Last night I weighed 3kg less again and put on overnight HOW is that possible!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 29/08/2024 21:54

I swear all my blubber has
Moved positions over night and settled again round
My belly. It had got a little smaller but now seems big
Again No idea where the weight is going from as it's
Not my Belly yet.
Stubborn Apple shape

Oh dear how is that possible? It might all come off at once! Good regarding the energy hope mine arrives soon 😂

@SJLOUNJARO with regard to low mood, I would describe myself as emotionless since being on Mounjaro. I just feel a bit meh about everything. Even breaking into the 11 stones this week felt flat when usually that would have had me dancing round the bathroom. I’m still on 2.5mg and plan to stay on this dose as the suppression is good but definitely can’t see myself being able to take this long term due to it taking away my spark. Another 20lbs til I reach my target weight so hopefully another couple of months. Hope things improve for you, feeling low is awful.

Anyone else feeling like this?

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 29/08/2024 23:40

I've had a few bad mood days but not to the level you describe so I can't say it's the jab for me. Generally I've felt normal.

Maybe the lower sugars affecting you. Not getting those highs anymore? Maybe?

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 30/08/2024 07:44

Finally got into the 67 kilo bracket. Two weeks of fluctuations so the weight is coming off still. It's just a LOT slower.

ACEwards · 30/08/2024 07:48

@Lemonadeintheshade I'm feeling a little bit like you. My oomph has gone, but I think it's down to spending over half my week with horrid headaches and lightheadedness due to side effects. The other half of my week is spent anxious about carrying out all my daily tasks with side effects 🙄 It's all very exhausting x

Xiaoxiong · 30/08/2024 10:24

I went up to 5mg on Weds, and today broke my stall as the scales moved down for the first time since I went on holiday in early August. I do think my body was getting too comfortable on 2.5mg and the appetite surpression is back like it was in the first couple of weeks on 2.5mg so that's great.

I am not noticing any side effects though, so maybe my body is less sensitive/more resistant than many on here. I have made a special effort to stay hydrated, eat enough fibre (2Tbsp of chia seeds every morning!) and track food with My Fitness Pal to make sure I've hit my protein and calories every day.

In terms of mood I read a very interesting article & then listened to an interview with a journalist who lost weight with Ozempic - he also had low mood while on the jabs, and realised that the jab revealed that food for him was emotional and when he no longer wanted to eat, he lost that (unhealthy) coping mechanism for his emotions and needed to find healthier outlets and support to allow him to feel his feelings rather than distract himself from them by over-eating.

I've found these threads to be invaluable to compare experiences and I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences - though I hope those with the significant side effects feel better soon Flowers

Hi - I have only read your last two posts but you mentioned in the previous one possibly not eating enough and not liking water.

For me a headache usually means I am dehydrated. And a few times I have been lightheaded while on Mounjaro it seemed my blood sugar was a bit low and eating a piece of bread and drinking more water sorted it.

If you don't like water can you find other fluids you can increase? Teas including herbal teas or even cold tea infusions. I drink sugar free squash which is a bit frowned upon buy it means I get my fluids. I also have soup as a light meal 2-3 times a week.

Some of your side effects might be diet related rather than specifically caused by the injection.

Lemonadeintheshade · 30/08/2024 13:39

I’ve read several threads on Reddit today of people feeling a bit flat so I do think it’s the Mounjaro. For me, I wouldn’t say I feel down just flat and a bit meh.
@Xiaoxiong firstly well done on breaking your stall 👏🏻 I think food is definitely one of the things that gives me the biggest high in life. I’m not a drinker, don’t have any serious hobbies or interests. Apart from my children, food is the thing that gives my life the most enjoyment. I’ve struggled with my weight since my teens so I’m delighted I’ve found Mounjaro. If it means I lose my spark for a few months but I get down to a healthy weight I’m willing to sacrifice that.

Hope everyone is continuing the slow and steady downwards trend on the scales.

Wishthiswasntmypost · 30/08/2024 18:23

Today I ate a piece of toast for lunch. I love toast and have excluded it but today decided, without butter, it was ok. People eat toast without being obese ?? so one piece of bread was toasted and eaten with a smear of local honey.

I had the afternoon off. I had a nap which was consumed with dreams of binge eating and feeling so angry and sad with myself 😕

Bread is not bad! Carbs are not bad! Maybe you’d feel “safer” eating bread if you tracked daily macros so you know you’ve got a good balance? MyFitnessPal tracks macros for you with no extra effort beyond logging your food.

@Xiaoxiong

I've read that book. Is johann hari. Really good info re WL injections.

He has a video on u tube if anyone wants to get the gist. Really interesting.

Toast is fine. No need to feel angry and/or sad. Seriously.

I have 2 slices of buttered toast with a fried (in olive oil) egg every morning for breakfast. And have lost 8.5 kg on MJ in 7 weeks. Everything in moderation works.

ACEwards · 31/08/2024 06:41

@Choux I think you're right. I'm also not eating as much fruit and veg as I used to. It's so hard to balance eating protein and veg with reduced appetite.

I think I'm also having some "lady" issues. Had a coil change from hormonal to copper in May, and keep having episodes of spotting and stomach pain/bloating which I think is also contributing to the way I feel and the weight stall/increase

Wishthiswasntmypost · 31/08/2024 07:16

I cut bread out because I enjoy it and thus ate toast as a snack...a lot. Toast for breakfast, lunch, middle of the night. So I decided to look for healthier snacks. The dreaming about binging I think represents my fear of coming off MJ and being back where I started. It's taken me 30 years, 3 babies, menopause, covid, 3 traumatic bereavements to put on 30kg so I suspect my angst over a piece of toast was a little disproportionate 😄

MyPearlMentor · 31/08/2024 07:34

@ACEwards and @Lemonadeintheshade i feel a bit meh too. But if I am truthful, it’s always like this on week 7 of a diet because it becomes boring… and sad because I have to refuse too many social invitations as they always involve food and booze I cannot have. I decided to treat myself to some nice non food micro treats each week… this week I chucked some of my less attractive knickers and had a brand new pair every day! They were only a 5 pack from M&S but it cheered me up… next week the new Kate Atkinson novel!

ACEwards · 31/08/2024 12:25

6th dose of 2.5 at 6.30 this morning and already the light headedness and headaches have started 😂😂 why is it I'm so susceptible to side effects but very little appetite suppression anymore. I don't think I'll ever actually be able to increase my dose.

I wonder if some people just aren't able to tolerate the medication full stop 🤷‍♀️ what's the next step when you get to that point I wonder 🤔 x

I couldn’t tolerate Wegovy well enough and had to stop after 13 weeks due to side effects. I’m on week 6 of Mounjaro and am up to 4mg and am feeling okay so far. For me it was definitely worth switching, but I did need to leave a 4 week (or was it 3?) window on nothing to get all the Wegovy out my system.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 31/08/2024 18:24

My suppression been really good last 3 days and finally shifted another 1lb so feeling good.

Yesterday all I had till 7pm was an apple a banana and a plum and I was fine.

Managed to stick to under 1000 Cals that 3 days in a row.

Will be ordering another 2.5mg tomz Hopefully that will be my last.

Keep going everyone. I like the k book on food treats like the knickers too. Lol. Great idea.

MyPearlMentor · 31/08/2024 20:56

I’m doing my last 5mg in this pen on Monday. Dithering about whether to go up to 7.5 or stick at 5… I’m getting ok suppression but not losing much weight in the last 2 weeks. Aside from the “meh” feeling and the rash at injection site for 24 hours I seem to be ok on the side effects. Is anyone planning to go up or are you all hoping to get by on 5? Health coach was not much help “it’s really up to you!”.

@HeBeaverandSheBeaver honestly the middle aged joy of a new pair of pants every day for a week is REAL! ;-)
