Nearly another week down on 5mg and I've stayed the same. I'm a bit gutted as I've been exhausted all week. I kinda thought that meant it was working. However, I have my period, so maybe that's why.

I think I'm going to count clicks for the next week or two and drop down to 2.5mg. I don't think I can do the end of the school holidays this tired.

This is me! Completely wiped out. No periods here though. There is an odd cycle of Day 1 no suppression. Day 2-4...cannot exercise as short of breath and exhausted, muscle weakness and generally low Day 5 start to feel tiny bit better. Day 6-7 feel normal.
I'm not feeling full suppression and am actively choosing not to eat. I woke in the night very hungry...toss and turn...toss and turn and would normally have tea and probably a piece of toast but didn't. I weighed myself and was super chuffed to have lost at last ...2.7kg down. Got up usual time, weighed again and scales had returned to normal...no loss 🤷‍♀️ how can I put weight on in a few hours whilst asleep. Think the scales are pretty accurate??

Choux · 25/08/2024 12:08

@Wishthiswasntmypost are you calorie counting? How much are you eating?

You say you are getting hungry and choosing not to eat. Not eating is not the goal. Eating well but at a calorie deficit is the goal.

If you are exhausted then perhaps you are not eating enough. Waking in the night from hunger is a sign you either aren't eating enough or need to eat more in the evening. Babies and young kids get milk just before bed to help them sleep through the night.

I don't know any details other than your last post but perhaps try a routine of 2-3 small meals a day that total 1,000-1,200 calories a day depending on your size and activity levels.

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/08/2024 13:12

I've started week 7 today and in my 6 weeks so far, I've lost 17 pounds. I've plateaued for the past week but it's hardly surprising. Just sticking with it and hoping I will get another weight drop soon.

I'm on 5mg and I'm exhausted. But I also have long Covid and have just had to take a week off work as I'm so burn-out with work demands (I work in Financial Services). So I guess the 'trifacta' of exhaustion is MJ, long Covid and a stressful job 😂as I didn't get out of bed until midday today. Which is very rare for me but a sign of how desperately I needed the rest!

I want to start back in the gym soon as I've lost all my fitness and my hard-earned muscular strength is rapidly disappearing. But it's so hard when I'm so busy at work plus so so exhausted all the time, and I'm aware the reduction in eating also means I will have less 'fuel in the tank'.

But I'm happy the weight is finally coming off. I have a long way to go but reassured that things are going in the right direction.

I don't calorie count every day because I find it very time consuming. Everything is from scratch and weighing every ingredient, then guessing exactly how much of the overall dish I ate and then inputting it into an app is just tedious and really miserable. I do it now and again as a sense check of what I'm eating. Generally 1000-1200 but sometimes less than 1000 cals. Most days, I have 3 meals. Today I've skipped a meal because we had Sunday roast and I didn't think I'd keep below cal limit otherwise.

Being hungry feels like an inevitable future for me tbh. My breakfast is 2 tbs protein yoghurt, flax seed and fruit. Lunch might be two carrots and humus. Dinner could be mackerel salad or homemade passata + veg bolognaise or mushroom risotto. I am consciously choosing small portions. Sometime I have a latte (maybe twice a week)...I might miss lunch if I do this. I feel my meals are the right size and often (not always) healthy. Today not joining the family for roast would be odd. I had a third of a roast potato, lots of veg and chicken. I did have a spoonful of cauliflower cheese. It feels really sad to either eat less or eat differently to the family.

I'm not always disciplined but haven't had alcohol since starting this, 6 cubes of chocolate in 6 weeks, no crisps, no ice cream, very very limited bread. I drink about 3 litres of water a day. I welcome advice on the above because I feel quite worried about eating anymore. I also struggle with eating with friends or family now as I'm so obviously restricting myself.

I noticed today I felt light headed after standing for awhile so I will check my BP as I wonder if that's low and making me feel tired

Choux · 25/08/2024 21:43

I don't know your exact portion sizes but with 200g of chicken your roast dinner would be about 500 calories. Even with your breakfast and correcting for my portion guesses I would say you are well under 1,000 calories for the day if you didn't eat lunch.

A Starbucks grande latte is 130-190 calories depending on skim or full fat milk. It should be possible to build that into your weekly calories without skipping a meal.

Feeling light headed is possibly a sign you have low blood sugar and need more food or more carbs.

When I cook I don't put every ingredient into a calorie counter. I might simply put the meat, carbs, oil and other high calorie ingredients into the calorie counter and then add 'mixed veg' or 'mixed salad' as whether the veg was 50 or 80 calories is pretty immaterial.

You definitely should not be missing out on family roast so I am glad you didn't. I think if you did some calorie counting you might realise that you can eat a bit more for your calories than you think and that might help you get the hunger and light headedness more under control.

Week 7 injection of 5mg and I'm 17lbs down! 🥳

Wishthiswasntmypost · 26/08/2024 10:53

Thank you @choux. I will make more effort to plot everything. I have a banana on my yog, with red grapes so that's more than strawbs. I'll consider changing that

Weigh in and I've lost 0.1kg this week. I had a feeling I'd not have lost much this week. Mid week I'd increased my intake and upped my protein to try and counter the light-headedness, but I'm obviously not getting something right.

I've seen others stall so see how we go. Just injected 7th jab and 23lbs down in total so I'm expecting a sudden start at some point. Odd that 5mg has seen me feel so poorly and stall. 23lbs is celebrated. 0.3kg we will ignore

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 26/08/2024 15:20

Not weighed today. It's she bday so it's a heavy week calorie wise. Also delaying inj till tomz. I had two donuts at a car show today and felt so tired afterward

lovely treat but the sugar definitely hits me now.

gimmemounjaro · 26/08/2024 15:24

I am delaying the next few injections by a day each too, otherwise the first injection of a new pen will be due right in the middle of a week when I am away. I've done it before to get around a holiday too.

Choux · 26/08/2024 16:41

@Wishthiswasntmypost if you like banana at breakfast stick with it!

I weigh myself every day but now only record losses and stalls. I find eating something with even a bit of salt can increase my weight temporarily by a pound or two due to water retention. You didn't mention gravy on your roast but that can be enough salt to make you retain a liter of water which weighs a kilo. Plus where you are re pooping can impact your weight loss. Drink a lot of water and avoid salt for a day and then weigh yourself again. You might get a nice surprise 😀

Choux · 26/08/2024 16:45

@Wishthiswasntmypost Oh and 23lbs off in 7 weeks is a big loss. I am only on 31.5lbs after about 24 weeks. You are doing amazing so listen to your body and give it what it needs to feel strong even if it slows your weight loss a little.

MzHz · 26/08/2024 16:49

I’ve got loads of work travel coming up and all the new pen orders just about fit in the schedule 🤣

CLEO42 · 26/08/2024 17:36

I’ve just done my 7th injection (2nd at 5mg) and will weigh tomorrow as we’ve been away for the bh weekend. I started on 5mg last week and have been so hungry! No appetite suppression at all! Anyone else found this?

I’ve found that I do get fuller on smaller amounts of food but I’ve been snacking in response to the hunger, in the way I didn’t at all on 2.5mg. All I can think about is food. 😞. I’ve had a period (well into peri so it’s a bit hit and miss when to expect this) - perhaps that’s affected things. I lost 3.5kg in first month and went up 0.5 last week. I’ll check back in after I weigh tomorrow.

On the plus side the only side effect has been occasional slight indigestion. Totally manageable.

MyPearlMentor · 26/08/2024 17:50

My turn for a slowdown… had to weigh / inject a day early as I am travelling & didn’t want to take it with me. After a lovely bank holiday with wine and roast (although less than I would have previously indulged in) I’m just 0.5kg down this week. I have also been reassured by all your posts about “sticking” for a bit so I’m kind of prepared/not too downhearted!

SW: 84kg
CW: 77.5kg
GW: 68-65kg

This is my 3rd 5mg and I’m really hoping to stick at this rather than increase to 7.5mg. I’m getting a horrible skin reaction at the injection site about 24 hours after use - like when you have a wasp sting - so I have tried an antihistamine today in the hope it won’t start as the last one took all week to subside. No other sure effects yet but I think this shows I am not completely tolerating the medication! It didn’t happen on 2.5mg…

I am back to a full week of travel abroad for work, staying in hotels with work events on 3 evenings this week. Need the willpower to avoid wine & nibbles, let’s hope the MJ holds up. Problem is that I have to do this regularly for my job so I have to find a way to deal with it (had a 6 week break this summer when I started the injections)

Well done to everyone sticking with it & losing!

I agree with you that for me the supression seems less strong than on 2.5mg… but maybe it’s just we’re getting more familiar with the not feeling so hungry? I am still doing so much better than on any other diet, where I would be gazing at other people’s food with envy!

Maybe as you’ve had no side effects your busy is just tolerating the drug more…

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 26/08/2024 19:58

Diet well and truly buggered today but I'll start afresh tomz as birthday celebrations for dh today.

One day won't hurt. Luckily dh is away with work now a few days so it will be easy to be super good.

Yep, no loss this week. Looks like I’ll just have to fire up my own will power (although if that was easy I wouldn’t be this size to start with) and hope that 7.5mg is a better dose for me next month.

It’s disappointing

Andywarholswig · 27/08/2024 07:55

Checking back in after my holiday, am waiting for my next pen to be delivered today - have done another 2.5 as I have been off for 2 weeks.
I am happy to report that I’ve come back from
holiday 0.5kg lighter that I went, so feels like a win in the big scheme of things despite drinking absolutely loads (was a fairly active holiday to be fair)
so recapping more for my own sake
SW:112kg
CW: 104kg
GW: 85kg
Onwards and downwards (I hope)

Aitchtee · 27/08/2024 08:10

I’m seriously thinking of stopping as I can’t bear the d and v side effects. Almost an entire pen in my fridge which will be such a waste but I cannot actually survive like this! Another whole night spend on the toilet and I am almost in tears at the thought of it continuing. I just feel sick all the time.
weight loss has been great, of course. But at a price!

I a, guessing you are on 2.5mg? If you are a super super responder can you count clicks and try 1mg, then 1.5mg etc to find your best dose? Have you spoken to your supplier to see what they recommend?

Xiaoxiong · 27/08/2024 09:20

Another week of no loss for me but also no gain, which is a win. I'm sure it's because of the BH weekend, I had quite a lot to drink as lots of social gatherings and my tracking went out the window.

I'm still down more than 5kg on my starting weight after 5 jabs (4 x 2.5mg, 1 bonus which was a little bit more than 2.5mg) so I'm not despairing and I've got my first 5mg jab lined up for Wednesday. Hoping that (plus doubling down on tracking, reducing drinking, and adding in some more exercise) will kickstart me to get out of this plateau.

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 27/08/2024 10:59

How are so many managing to drink loads of alcohol?! I have one glass of wine and will be nauseous as get out.. and not worth the hangover.

Xiaoxiong · 27/08/2024 11:07

On 2.5mg I'm not getting any nausea or hangovers from alcohol, and no GI issues at all (poor you @Aitchtee , sounds tough!!)

But at the same time I haven't lost any weight in the last 3 weeks, so I'm hoping that going up to 5mg will get me moving down again.

I am on 2.5 yes. I had an actually bought a 5mg pen but when I realised my side effects were ramping up rather than down I just counted 30 clicks to remain on 2.5. I hadn’t even considered going down less than 2.5 that’s a good idea. I’m with Zava I might contact them today. Thank you x

My creepy-crawly weight loss of the last few weeks has brought me into the next stone bracket. 12lbs to go to BMI 25.
