Oops - posted this on the continuing thread by mistake 😊 Have reported that one, so it might disappear from there. Not worried either way, just proving that menopause brain is a thing...
Thanks for this thread @ObsidianTree - it is nice to have a space for those of us that have been here for a while.
I started MJ on the 28th March, so have now taken 20 doses. Currently on 7.5mg, my next pen is a 10mg, but I might stick at 7.5 for a while. See how it goes.
I was at 12.6.6 stone on 28/3, but had lost about half a stone before that.
Currently at 10 stone, which was my original interim target, aiming for 9 1/2 stone next.
I'm 5'3", so almost 13 stone was a lot.
BMI is 24.8, so within normal range. I did weigh in unofficially over the weekend, and there was a 9 at the beginning of the number. Last time that happened was 2013. I hit 10st in 2017 for my daughter's wedding, but have been gaining since. Menopause (I'm 55) has been a weight disaster, MJ does seem to have turned that around. Wish it would do something for the brain fog!
I'm hoping to stay on it for a while for maintenance, and really hoping that the high protein regime will work while I titrate down.
People are now noticing - I went out at the weekend wearing a VERY flattering pair of skinny jeans and boots, and got a lot of comments, from friends, neighbours, and my family a couple of weeks ago. If asked, I'm saying that it's a high protein, lowish carb diet - I don't mention MJ. It does feel a bit deceitful, but I am counting calories and macros, and logging food daily, so it's not untrue. I've told a couple of people, but only good friends who also struggle with weight.
