Hi all,

Thought I would start a thread for those that started quite early on and would like a space to chat with others that started around the same time. Like the threads that are dedicated to those starting in May, June, July etc thought it would be nice to have a space for people have have been on for similar amount of time.

I can't get my head round the hate and the strong opinions.
If I was of skinny metabolism and had never been overweight, I wouldn't really have strong opinions about the jabs one way or the other. You do you sort of thing.
The "rage" of these folk is palpable. It's extremely odd.

ObsidianTree · 16/09/2024 14:24

I think it's mostly down to slim people not liking it that we have access to a drug that helps us get slim. As they feel they have either worked really hard to be slim and healthy so why should we get help to lose weight. Or, they are naturally slim and can eat what they want and not gain weight so assume that we all must eat like pigs to be fat so don't deserve any help.

Definitely a clear reluctance to believe that we might have medical issues that prevent us from losing weight on our own.

It’s cheating!

I think they’re cheating so eg I had a microbiome test and I had ZERO of this particularly bacteria that thin people have

ObsidianTree · 16/09/2024 14:38

That's interesting @Buffypaws. What was the test. Did you have to pay for it?

OP posts:
CiderJabs · 16/09/2024 14:43

It's the sense of entitlement and the "I've worked hard so why should you have it easy?" comments that drive me mad. I've lost 4st naturally. I can do it. But that doesn't mean I don't welcome the help. And it has become harder with menopause. Then they mask their rage by "concern". You don't go round telling people who smoke that they are lining up for lung cancer do you? In fact I'd love to know how many of these "concerned" people either smoke or drink alcohol!

Not bought any pens. Yet 🤣

So how do you get the missing bacteria? Do you have to have one of those faecal matter transplants 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Moanranger · 16/09/2024 15:02

Just to let you lovely people know that Medino pharmacy is awfully difficult to transfer to. Am am currently with Health Express, but they are rather pricey, so I saw Medino's prices and emailed them to ask about moving. Well.... they want some sort of certificate from the current supplier, as well as other information. I cannot imaging getting this (and do not want the faff.)
So unless anyone has any other suggestions, I will continue my plan to transfer to MedExpress. I just hope it is relatively simple.

Wonkypictureframe · 16/09/2024 15:03

If this is Zoe, I've done it too, and you need to eat lots of seeds and things that the app says are good for your gut. But they are very clear that this is NOT a weightloss programme so it's not uncommon for people to put on weight.

I heard of something like this being done that went the other way. A naturally slim person got some gut bateria or whatever, from an obese person and then they gained weight and couldn't keep it off. After a lifetime of being slim and no weight issues.

Re expiry dates - how weird is it tho that the 2.5mg pens with a September expiry are coming from suppliers with a note to say they’re good until March 2025?

The anti weight loss chat is very infuriating now. So much concern for ozempic face and not putting dangerous drugs in your body, but no equal concern for the lifes of diabetics on the same drugs.

The media always tries to be contrary. Either giving the positive news or the negative news. Always designed to rile people. The anti weight loss people will focus on the negative easy disproved stories.

But whatever, looks like more and more people ar moving over to weight loss drugs so hopefully soon enough the rest will be fewer and fewer.

Dunno about anyone else, but I could do with a bit of Ozempic face 😄.
I still have hamster cheeks and multiple chins despite over 5st weight loss.

I can’t wait for the judgy slimmies to hit menopause!

CormorantStrikesBack · 16/09/2024 18:23

I didn’t know medexpress did a blue light discount, but it says only for new customers so guess I can’t get it now!!

Hello everyone - great to see all your stories of success. I am creeping up the doses without too much problem - just took 4mg so we will see how that goes. I have quit sugar (for the umpteeth time) which has shifted a bit of weight thank goodness as the weight had been slowly going up on the lower doses. Just wish I could get back in the swing of things without bad side effects.

Hi. Why did you do 4mg instead of 5mg? Are you having side effects?

I think so yes
I’d do it too if still overweight

Ghilliedu · 16/09/2024 20:57

Hi all

well done on all the losses and all those who have posted pics - you look amazing!

I’ve not been around for a few weeks because I’m having a bit of a rubbish time where I’m going between 189 and 190lbs and just can’t seem to get below here. Funnily enough, I was this weight for probably about 6 years after having my youngest, before I gained weight over the last year. So I think my body likes being this weight.

I barely lost anything on 5mg. Took 6 last week but was away for the week so haven’t weighed - food choices were baaaad - but I didn’t feel any suppression so have gone for 7.5mg tonight and let’s hope I can get a whoosh.

just so this post isn’t all doom and gloom, people have actually started noticing now. A few people have mentioned it in the last 2 weeks. Also had a big anniversary a couple of weeks ago and I wore a dress I’d been too big to wear for ages. DH said to me ‘you can REALLY see your weight loss’ as soon as I came into the room. So I’m trying to take joy from that and will keep going. My BMI is 30.5….so close to just being overweight!

sorry this is long!

Hi. Why did you do 4mg instead of 5mg? Are you having side effects?

Yes it was because of side effects. I have been up to 10mg but suddenly got bad side effects and struggling to get back on it. I have been going up by 0.5mg per week recently as the jump from 2.5 to 5 brought back the symptoms. It was fine first time round.

ObsidianTree · 17/09/2024 09:46

Morning all,

I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I don't feel like the 15mg is working much for me.

The second shot from it I took a day early and the third shot I've taken today another day early as I dont feel like it's been doing much. Will see if it suddenly hits me.

@montysma1 what you said about the 15mg you have been taking has been playing on my mind.. Re- it being from a warm pen and not really effective. I'm not sure if my current 15mg pen was a warm one. It was delivered during a hot weather spell and I definitely had some pens delivered where the ice pack was melted but ice pack still cold so just ignored it and stuck in the fridge.

So I am wondering if it's not very effective. I'm also wondering if there is a reason why they were so short dated.

Anyone else on 15mg and feel like it's not really working like the other doses? Or are on 15mg and it's working well and just as good or better than the other doses?

My current 15mg from Zava arrived super warm (if you remember my earlier comments, it took days to be dispatched) and customer service shrugged it off. I took it on Friday and had no appetite suppression since then.

I also didn’t receive the famed cool bag that some Zava customers did recently.

I didn't get a cool bag either.

Maybe they are packing them days before sending them! Which would mean that my 15mg is way over 30 days as I got it in july!

I can't place my finger on why I don't think it's working, but definitely not feeling like I have much appetite suppression if any at all.

I think this 15mg was the first pen I got where it said despatched for days before royal mail received it. If they are packing it and leaving it out of fridge for days before sending it then that's worrying.

Also, I realise today is Tuesday not Wednesday so I've taken it two days early from last week 🤦 I'm stupid. Will see if I get any effect!

OP posts:
montysma1 · 17/09/2024 12:08

@ObsidianTree I had 2 15mgs arrive warm. I am certain they are not as effective.
When I took 15mg previously, by using extra doses, I was very suppressed indeed.

I dose on a Friday morning. What I have experienced is good suppression Friday/Sat ( but not absolute suppression), with a dramatic fall off in effect by Monday .
This makes sense as heating will have affected the half life of the drug, so the circulating amounts will drop off quicker.

It's a nonsense for them to claim hot temperatures don't me matter. If the drug was not heat labile then there would be no cold chain requirement. They would just send it at room temp.
I work in a lab. If a biological compound requiring 4degrees storage is accidentally left out, we don't use it.
Because in unscientific terms, it "goes off". The biological activity is demonstrably and measurable decreased.

I get so mad at lily and the Pharmacys breezy dismissal of the failure of the cold chain. This stuff costs hundreds of fucking pounds .😡

montysma1 · 17/09/2024 12:12

@ObsidianTree I also query the efficacy of these short dated pens. There is a use by date for a reason.

The drug activity won't just go off a cliff edge on the sell by date. There will have been a gradual decline over the later months of storage.
I recon the use by date is the latest one where there is enough residual drug activity for them to get away with selling it.

ObsidianTree · 17/09/2024 12:21

Thanks @montysma1

Wondering if there is a double whammy of warm pens and the effectiveness of the drug due to short date.

So you think the short expiry date is because they were manufactured a long time ago?

I've also not had the strong suppression that I've had with smaller dose pens. Usually the first few days I won't feel hungry and will make sure I eat. With this pen, I'm hungry at breakfast time, lunchtime etc. I've been thinking about lunch for a few hours now and been waiting for lunchtime to come! I haven't had that feelings for a long time!

OP posts:
FlappyFish · 17/09/2024 13:02

That is utterly rubbish on the 15. As you all say, it costs a LOT!

I am getting used to hunger being back now. Final dose this Friday.

The exercise is also increasing appetite. But… so be it. I have a healthy ache from swimming. It feels good.
