Hi all,

Thought I would start a thread for those that started quite early on and would like a space to chat with others that started around the same time. Like the threads that are dedicated to those starting in May, June, July etc thought it would be nice to have a space for people have have been on for similar amount of time.

I've had my first week of not losing weight since I started! Stayed the same this week, pretty much. 200g loss which is too small to really count. I'm fine with that, it was bound to happen eventually. Think I've done quite well to get so far!

@Choux dropping down does sound like a good idea. I dropped back down from 10mg after one pen because the build up was too much for me. We need to be able to eat!

ObsidianTree · 16/09/2024 08:19

@Choux yes it's terrible feeling exhausted. Hope you manage to get the rest of your 15mg used before it's expiry.

@KeepingUndercover amazing you have got this far and only just had your first stall. Impressive 😊

After saying that I hadn't seen much negativity on the affording weight loss drugs thread, I'll now have to eat my words! The usual "your stealing from diabetes" crew are out and talking bollocks. I thought I was zen about the naysayers now and could ignore but turns out I couldn't ignore it 😂Luckily it is probably about 75% that are on them/positive now so plenty of people dealing with the ill informed trolls!

NextPrimeMinister · 16/09/2024 09:23

I am on that thread under a different user name. Some people are just so ignorant!!!!

ObsidianTree · 16/09/2024 09:28

Definitely! A majority of the negative people have done no research or reading into it and just make up stuff and try and pass it off as fact. Definitely a pattern I've seen from these types of people.

I should change my username for rest of Mumsnet really! Incase I get banned for what I say😂

I fear some Mounjaro will not be used until after its' expiry date as I have:
7 (including 2 bonus so even bigger) doses of 15mg with expiry end of October and
A full pen of 12.5mg with expiry November.

Hopefully after a few weeks of 10mg I might be ready to go back to 12.5mg. I expect some of my doses will be taken 1-2 weeks after they are expired so might be less effective. I will take it and see...

There’s too much press coverage of people taking MJ who shouldn’t be or taking fake MJ. It all leads to people getting a weird impression that they then chuck out on threads here.

Absolutely. I keep seeing stuff about Sharon Osborne - as if, prior to taking WLD, she was a beacon of good sense, good health and clean living.

There's a level of hysteria building on MN and other forums and in the media, which is quite baffling and very concerning. I'm suspecting a fair amount on MN is trolling now - had a 'pharmacist' this morning claiming her customers couldn't get their insulin because it's all going to people on WLD. People start threads because they like to create a row, for attention, or kicks, or something. Trouble is this all adds to the sewer of misinformation and who knows where that'll end.

Wonkypictureframe · 16/09/2024 11:05

People misuse/abuse a lot of drugs and you rarely see anyone claiming that they shouldn’t be available to those who need them and use them properly as a result.

More and more people are using them because they work, and work better than other ways of losing weight. Why wouldn’t they? I saw on my social feed the other day that Noom has introduced medication options for example. It all comes back to this stupid thing that MNers won’t admit they think, that morally losing weight should be really hard work, and if it isn’t then you don’t deserve it (while of course ‘all’ you have to do it eat less and move more).

montysma1 · 16/09/2024 11:07

I was on one of the Facebook's pages, can't remember what it was called but they kept getting shut and they had all taken to calling MJ , Mango, seemed to be linked to Hira and had a whatsapp backup group.
It seems to have disappeared or I have been chucked off or something.

I was only on it for the cheap suppplier list which I use to blackmail Med Express 😁.
Has anybody got a recent version of said list they could share?

ObsidianTree · 16/09/2024 11:12

@montysma1 I think the list is from Reddit.

I actually found it today and saved it.

Not sure what's going on with the Facebook group. I've left all of the mj Facebook groups now as I feel they affiliate themselves with different supplies and I don't think that's right. One openly plugged Curate in their page header picture with their discount code. Whoever owned that code must have made a lot of money as I think curate were paying commission to that person for anyone that used it.

I am on Oshik FB now tho as I plan to move to them.

The anti weight loss chat is very infuriating now. So much concern for ozempic face and not putting dangerous drugs in your body, but no equal concern for the lifes of diabetics on the same drugs.

The media always tries to be contrary. Either giving the positive news or the negative news. Always designed to rile people. The anti weight loss people will focus on the negative easy disproved stories.

But whatever, looks like more and more people ar moving over to weight loss drugs so hopefully soon enough the rest will be fewer and fewer.

Don't forget that we also don't know the long term effects so there's going to be a scandal to rival all scandals in 10 years time. They're just worried about us you know. Always my favourite argument.

Wonkypictureframe · 16/09/2024 11:24

Yes, it's touching.

KrankyKumquat · 16/09/2024 11:30

Funny how there wasn't all this fuss when Viagra was first released. Now available OTC and with a list of side effects worse than WLDs😅

montysma1 · 16/09/2024 11:31

@ObsidianTree Thank you!
That's the list I was after. I dont do Redit so I may be after you again for it!

Was trying to look at family Chemist today and keep getting a message that the website isn't secure and can't open it. It's happened before but then other days it seems to be fine.

I tried to sign up with them a long time ago and I also got problems with their website. So gave up.

I don't think family chemist prescribe for people moving over for maintenance. Think you have to be with them from start for them to prescribe to you.

Are you reluctant to use oshik because of the price?

OP posts:
montysma1 · 16/09/2024 11:42

@ObsidianTree Pretty much. To keep going for a few months I really need to be as cheap as possible.

ObsidianTree · 16/09/2024 12:13

@montysma1 they are quite pricey for their 15mg for sure. Even on the maintenance plan with 15% off and free delivery, they are pricey. I think £187 a month on the maintenance plan.

OP posts:
montysma1 · 16/09/2024 13:23

Has anybody had a recent 15mg delivery and was it long dated?

Holding off getting next pen ( which gives me the fear) as I want to be sure I get one with a long date.

I know Oshik have withdrawn the end of Oct expiry pens. But others are reporting recieving Oct expiry pens still.

I think Zava have put a message on saying that they have a short expiry and need to be started by 9th Oct. So most prescribers will probably send out until end of first week of October! So maybe wait until mid Oct to order another pen!

I think I want one more 15mg but will wait until 1st Nov to order it!

These fat bashing threads make my blood boil. I try not to reply as I could end up banned. This latest one had someone saying "just drink water when you feel hungry. I lost 2 stone by doing that". Fuckwits!

I've had an email from health express saying it's time for me to order again and am sitting on my hands as I promised myself the last one was my last ever!! Make me stop ladies!

KeepingUndercover · 16/09/2024 13:57

Don't do it @CiderJabs, save the money for clothes/Christmas/whatever.

ObsidianTree · 16/09/2024 14:10

@CiderJabs that poster riled me! Had to reply! That person that was saying drink water went from 21st to 20st! So hardly the cure for obesity! Lol!

OP posts:
FlappyFish · 16/09/2024 14:11

@CiderJabs nope! Don’t order and funnel it into exercise and clothes.

I am swimming again tomorrow. 😊

I refuse to read any of the “MJ is bad” threads. I have my own demonstrable proof it is bloody amazing.

It is most amusing we are here 8 months on, most of us having substantial amounts of weight and feeling a whole lot better physically and mentally - yet the barrage continues.

To thine own self be true.
