Mounjaro February to April 24 starters

Hi all,

Thought I would start a thread for those that started quite early on and would like a space to chat with others that started around the same time. Like the threads that are dedicated to those starting in May, June, July etc thought it would be nice to have a space for people have have been on for similar amount of time.

I'm going to do this too... the late order I mean. As long as I order by about 10 Oct that will be fine for me and that doesn't give a clear 4 weeks before end Oct expiry. November is still ok for me for expiry.

I worked out I'm going to use my 15mg as 6 X 12.5 doses (or even 2-3 X 12.5 then move to 15 from the same pen) which will take me to around end Oct. it will be 1 week over the 30 day since opening schedule but that's ok in my mind.

Suppliers must be a bit upset and I imagine pressuring Eli Lily to extend the dates given they are likely to have a lot of expiring stock. I wonder if it's due to people not moving up doses every 4 weeks? Therefore not everyone has reached the highest doses?

@MJqueen yeah I can imagine there will be a lot of 15mg and 12.5mg going out of stock soon! Hope they don't have to chuck them away 🤦🫣

Mine was also 4 days but that included them requesting new photos. They requested them on day 3. They approved and dispatched day 4 and I received day 5 in a cool bag not wool and still cold.

I'm beginning to think it's a pot luck with zava which Dr picks up your order how much they scrutinise it.

Oh this is really good, thanks for sharing! I will likely buy just one more pen in a few weeks then, before rolling on with the Oushk maintenance holding plan thingymabob.

Thanks @Fromthesidelines for the Pilates online recommendation. I was looking for something to have as a backup, especially when I am on travel. I am really enjoying my reformer work and I do miss it when I am away.

Yes😊😊 finally hit 3 stones this morning. Been on the jabs since the last week of March so a slower journey for me and unlikely to hit my mini target of 15st by the time I go on my hols in 2 weeks but I am reasonably happy. Hoping that slower means it will stay off.
I’ve been with several suppliers and jump between them all. Voy offered me a massive 44% to reorder with them before 1/9 so although I don’t need another pen until November I took the plunge. My last order ironically from them was 22/7 but they still requested photos in a snug fitting outfit and proof I was who I said I was (photo of me holding my DL).

Their website isn’t the easiest to navigate to upload and I’ve given them feedback as this did delay them approving my order but it should arrive today. I’ll let you know what dates on it as it’s the 15mg pen.

Feels this may be part of the initial diabetic stock they had made up before it was approved. For now I've ordered 12.5mg but had to reorder at 10mg as it's a better expiry. I thought I'd rather take the hit and use the extra dose to get 4 weeks at 12.5mg

Would be nice if they offered short dated 12.5 and 15s at a reduced price to offload them, wouldn't it? Betting they'll suddenly just release a note saying the expiry has been extended by a couple of months though, like they did a while back with 2.5s 🤔

So my 15mg has been delivered - October expiry date🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️. Going to use up the rest of my current 12.5 pen and then decide whether to use the 15mg before my 2nd 12.5 or risk using the 15mg out of date. My thought is that although it’s a ‘use by’ rather than ‘best before’ there’s some leeway and worst case scenario is that it will lose some efficacy. 🤞🤞

These 15mg expiry dates are such a joke! I bet they will sell them up until end of September!

You can use them until end of Oct. I'm sure that they will be fine after that date.

I should get a 15mg delivered soon. I'm sure the expiry will be Oct also. I already have a 15mg that I will be using next. Will then go onto the pen I've got coming. That will take me into Nov. I think it will be ok. I'm assuming they put a short date on them to stop people buying them to use for smaller doses. Or to stop people stock piling. If they were manufactured after the 7.5 and 10mg, then there is no reason for their having a shorter date!

According to the Oushk pharmacy, there's none with longer dates in the UK. So presumably, something to do with EL manufacturing and export or maybe them meeting greater demand in US first? Sucks as I missed a discount this weekend as couldn't risk getting a pen I had to use before end of Oct when I've one in the fridge already.

Aargh I'm another one who is going to have to order a short expiry 15mg pen - I've got a full one in the fridge and the bonus dose to go on my 12.5mg pen, but I want to build up a bit of stock just in case, plus I don't want to leave it too long between orders.

My BMI is now 25.2 and I've lost nearly 79lbs - or 5 stone 9 lbs. (Including 37 lbs I lost prior to MJ). It's about 18 years since I was that weight so I'm thrilled. Still a way to go as I hold my weight round my rib cage and tummy so they are plumper than I'd like.

Something I want to do when I've hit target is go for a proper bra fitting. I last went in 1997 when I was getting measured for wedding underwear. I had lost lots of weight and was really quite slim. As I stood in the changing room I heard one assistant say to the other "could you measure this lady, she's really quite large". It was definitely about me as there was no one else there. I should have said something/left but I didn't have the guts and just meekly bought the recommended undies. And you know what size they were? 34DD, hardly the size of an elephant. Since then I've never had the courage to get measured again, especially when I was a lot larger. I definitely won't be going to John Lewis Oxford Street though....

Just did a search on the Oshik page on Facebook to see if someone has asked about the expiry. Sounds like if you order 6 weeks before expiry you should get a new pen with new expiry.

I am keeping an eye on this thread but been off as it’s been very stressful here and I’ve been having to change medications for some health stuff which has made me feel awful both physically and emotionally . So my focus has been elsewhere which seems a waste when Mounjaro is so expensive . I don’t have much of an appetite but find I only want very bland stuff which is not great for healthy eating always and I need to go back to calorie tracking properly.
Hoping 10 mg pen is the kick I need so will he moving to that next I hope

Good intel @ObsidianTree I am hoping I can hang on for a couple of weeks to get a longer expiry 15mg. I have one full and one part used 15mg pens already. I think I need to order in 2-3 weeks although perhaps i could ask my provider a couple of questions about expiry date to draw out the time before I place my order.

@Femeia sorry you had such an awful experience! If you have someone who can help I highly recommend boob or bust website to get yourself measured for bras. I'd spent years wearing ill fitting bras and this was a game changer. At the time I was wearing 44e or 44f bras and this put me in 38gg. It was amazing!

Ooh thanks @Scalessayeek, I don't know that website, I'm actually keen to try bras myself rather than be pressured into buying something in a particular shop. I'll give it a go - once I hit target

You could do the same and then if you're ready to be on 15 later do the same in reverse with your 12.5 pen. It would be 72 clicks instead of normal 60 to get 15mg from a 12.5 pen.

Very interesting! According to this, I am comfortably in the green zone, so I actually don’t think it makes sense to go for a BMI below 25. In which case I will never really need to negotiate a maintenance dose with a pharmacy.
Looking at myself today at the gym, sort of dispassionately analysing my body, I still have podge around middle. If I can get that gone, then whatever weight I am at will probably be right for me. Maybe another 10lbs or so.
NSV today, I poured a glass of wine, had a few sips, maybe a third & stopped. I just really didn’t fancy it. Atypical for me (tho am generally drinking a lot less on MJ)

I'm probably going to be wanting 15mg doses from a 12,5mg pen soon. Taking 72 clicks means you have to two injections a week so I was thinking I might just do a 12.5mg injection every 6 days instead of 7.

It works out as 5 doses including bonus and the med will be in my body for 30 days. Doing 15mg x 4 from the pen is 28days worth of meds. So it's practically the same.

Thanks @MJqueen and @Choux they’re great options to consider. for some reason I started to try and compute how many clicks it would be to convert the 12.5 to 15 and vice versa just as I was dropping off to sleep. 🤦🏼‍♀️Not good when I’ve been suffering insomnia for the past few nights!
