Hi all,

Thought I would start a thread for those that started quite early on and would like a space to chat with others that started around the same time. Like the threads that are dedicated to those starting in May, June, July etc thought it would be nice to have a space for people have have been on for similar amount of time.

Haha thanks. I was thinking my legs look great 🤣

I took a comparison pic a month ago in leggings that were too big and they were super baggy! I bought some Primark medium leggings today! (Wearing in today's pic). Attached anyway! Look at that saggy bottom! Bye bye butt! 🥲

Pic attached from July

Edited

Yours looks a damn sight better than mine, I would swap in a heartbeat 😂

BlackFriYay · 24/08/2024 19:54

What dose are you on? For me, it coincides with going onto 10mg.

If it is that in my case it should stop soon as I'm only 1.9lbs from goal and I'll be reducing to a maintenance dose in the next couple of weeks.

I'll update on it again in a month or so.

I'm on second week of 12.5 and so yes it probably did coincide with 10mg. That's interesting.
Well done on being so close to goal, that's fab.
I would like to lose another stone. Hopefully I won't be bald by then 😬

@ObsidianTree that is a huge difference! Your shape has completely changed and your waist is lovely!!!!

Good luck!

Thank you

izzy2076 · 24/08/2024 10:26

@BlackFriYay ouch!!! One of my favourite autistic students is the oracle of truth when it comes to my appearance! She described me as having a 'botched square arse' recently. Prior to that she once called me a 'fat c...t' but admitted can't call me that anymore as I'm no longer fat (she said) She's the one person who I can trust to tell the truth, even if the delivery is somewhat harsh!

I've just caught up with the past few pages properly and seen this, I really laughed 😂

You've got to love them haven't you?

Are you a SEN teacher then? Amazing. My DS is autistic as is my DSS. DS teacher has become a firm friend of mine over the past year she's an absolute gem.

Thank you for looking after our special ones 🙂

izzy2076 · 24/08/2024 20:45

@BlackFriYay yes. Kind of. I don't do much teaching these days as I'm in charge. Pupil referral unit, so sadly, we have quite a few children with ASD. They actually do very well with us! Lots of very honest conversations though as you can imagine. So refreshing compared to most adults! I've accepted the fact that I'm so old I should be dead by now and that I should never ever wear sketchers...I never get called fat these days though so I'll take that!

Wonkypictureframe · 24/08/2024 20:46

You look brilliant, @ObsidianTree!

Ghilliedu · 24/08/2024 21:37

Wow @ObsidianTree you look phenomenal! That waist!

1.5lbs loss for me today which is the biggest loss I’ve had on 5mg. I can definitely feel it kicking in a bit more now. I had a bit of my brothers birthday cake earlier and felt sick afterwards. Usually I can eat pretty normally.

I’m now 33lbs down and still wearing the same clothes. This seems like madness to me!

Scalessayeek · 24/08/2024 21:47

@ineedmoresleepnow the good news about noticing hair loss is that it's probably been going on for a while and you'll be having new baby hairs growing in their place.

I read you'll notice it about 3 months in and by 5 months it'll be growing back in. I've got tonnes of 3 inch baby hairs all round my hair line Confused

It's good to get a balance of bovine and marine collagen if you can. I've been having 11mg of my "fishy vanilla powder" for just over a month and I feel it's doing something. I have it in my coffee first thing!

Amazing pics @ObsidianTree !!!

KeepingUndercover · 24/08/2024 22:16

I've been reading but not posting much while I'm away. Loving the progress pics, everyone looks fab.

I didn't take my injection with me so I'm now 3 days over when I should have done the last one. Feeling ok now. Definitely got more appetite but I don't think I've gone to overboard, it's mostly hit today. I'll see how I've done on Monday. It's been quite nice today being able to eat a bit more at meals. I've been offered a lot of alcohol but I've not indulged as I don't particularly fancy it.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 25/08/2024 00:50

@ObsidianTree fab loss, congratulations you look great. Love how your cat is looking at you on the after photo 😄.
I'm having an issue with my belly too - mine is the bit above my waistband rather than the apron which I can hide. The top bit sticks out a lot and ruins my profile from the side. It's really annoying me now but I guess it's due to knackering my stomach muscles during my second pregnancy.

Moanranger · 25/08/2024 07:01

Hi all,
Fab losses everyone & great general progress.
Reporting back from hols:
as of this morning I am up one pound.
I recorded my lowest weight so far on day 3 of hols.
Food mainly buffet style, so I could focus on veg & protein - there was lots of fish, (swordfish one night which I love) meat, chicken, reasonable variety of veggies & salad.
Puddings a bit meh, so not tempted.
I ate one piece of bread in the week
I tended towards tasting, picked something , had a bit, left the rest - yup, that’s paella, alright (which I don’t love)
Skipped dinner entirely one night.
Ate dinner v v late, which I don’t like, back to being home now & eating at a reasonable hour.
Consumed more booze than normal - 3 glasses of wine two nights, none two nights, 1 glass the rest.
Taking scales the way to go. My Renpho travel scales have just arrived so I will use these in the future.
I only had one comment on WL, one diet discussion, v brief, just said I was eating 1200 cals/day & got used to it.
No hols planned for awhile (saving for mega trip in Jan)
Now back to routine - gym & exercise.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 25/08/2024 07:19

@ObsidianTree You look amazing!! Congratulations!

I'm still on holiday - did my 2nd jab of the holiday yesterday - counted clicks to get 8mg from a 10mg pen as I had bad nausea and severe appetite suppression on 10mg.
The food available isn't the high protein, high veg I've been used to eating. Lots of carbs, rice, cheese and potatoes in the canaries! Really looking forward to getting home and getting back to an eating routine.

Also I have no idea if I've lost or gained weight, so that's a bit scary! I have been doing lots of swimming and walking through

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 25/08/2024 07:59

Really struggling with the hunger since injecting on Friday morning - it's even worse than before I injected and I've been struggling for days with how hungry I am in a morning. I've never been a breakfast person so feels weird that suddenly I'm ravenous every morning.

NCfor24 · 25/08/2024 09:16

Morning all, just checking in. @ObsidianTree you look amazing!

@izzy2076 my eldest is autistic and attends a specialist independent school. Right before I started MJ in March we were sat eating dinner one night and he just says "Mum, you said your new years resolution was to lose weight and exercise. Well, I'm not seeing any progress." I think I found Obsidian's post and signed up right away 🤣

I am now halfway through my holiday and have eaten more carbs than I've consumed in the past 5 months! I jabbed on Friday evening so waiting for it to kick in so I get some more appetite suppression...I'm resigned to having a gain to tackle when I get home but even though I've eaten much more than usual, it is still a fraction of my pre-MJ intake. We move campsites tomorrow and whereas this first place has been about sitting and doing nothing, tomorrow we move to somewhere far more active so hopefully I'll get some more steps in!

BlackFriYay · 25/08/2024 10:09

It's the opposite with me atm, I've got a bit too much suppression.

My oldest friend is coming to visit today and we've plans to go for a lovely roast dinner. We go every couple of months. I don't know how on earth I'm going to manage it, and the portions at this particular restaurant are very generous.

He is also an aspie so I'm bracing myself for some more blunt honesty 😂

montysma1 · 25/08/2024 10:16

@ObsidianTree Great progress. You had a good shape even in the heavier ones. I looked like a potato!

Isn't the flat bum thing funny? It seems to be a recurring theme on the threads. I have lost weight many times in my life and have never had FBS ( Flat Bum Syndrome) before this .

izzy2076 · 25/08/2024 11:30

@NCfor24 haaa!!! That's made me laugh. I love the 'you said...' part as if he's caught you in a lie. He's holding you to account like he's your manager. I love these kids!

ObsidianTree · 25/08/2024 15:42

Thanks for the lovely comments ☺️

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I also have messed up stomach muscles after 2 Csects. I guess I can only hope that eventually the belly goes down somewhat!

@montysma1 you don't look like a potatoe! You look great. Can't wait to get to slim! Yes the flat butt thing is new for me too! Never lost my butt before either!

Femeia · 25/08/2024 18:10

Well done Obsidiantree, you look fab!

I desperately need to find out more about maintenance- given that I had no suppression at lower doses I don't really know if I would keep injecting. But I've been a yo yo dieter all my life and know how easily it is to slip back into bad habits. I really do hope that these months of good eating help retrain my mind but....

It's a little while off - I'm at 12stone 5lbs at 5ft 9 in. I think I need to get to around 10stone 7, this sounds low but I have very skinny (now) legs and still a very big tummy and plenty of padding round my ribs and boobs. So I need to get to a lower weight to feel happier about my torso. I have a lot of flabby, saggy skin, esp after 3 big babies, but I'm too much of a wuss and skinflint to have a tummy tuck/boob lift so I'm stuck with it. Good job I was never a fan of bikinis!

I've got 2 more doses at 12.5 and then will start on 15. I need to check expiry dates given the discussions here as I want to keep ordering so I've got a couple of pens at hand. I'm with Bolt because they are easy to reorder from, and from what you've been saying they offer a maintenance plan so that's something to consider.

I had a new work photo done recently and my old one is still available - someone said to me it's like a completely different person. I also noticed on holiday that my swimsuits were way too big so I need to buy new ones. I also got a bit of attention on the dance floor in a bar, from a bloke roughly my age Blush which dh was not at all pleased about! But that's the first time in years and very flattering (I would NEVER have done anything I hasten to add)

FlappyFish · 25/08/2024 20:24

Hi all! Catching up.

Wow, @ObsidianTree what a change. I am so happy for you. I’m also so glad you started the OG thread and made me think at 6am that morning, “Eff it. Just do it, Flappy.”

I am doing well. Titrating down still and maintaining. Any money I’ve not spent on MJ for the last couple of months as I’m using up my stash has now been redirected to clothes and my new obsession. Knee high boots.

Why? Because I can. 😂 Zipping up suede and leather knee high boots that have no stretch in them gives me the greatest feeling. So does being a size 10. Shallow? Perhaps. But I have never had this feeling. That clothes fit. That I fit.

I also have FBS and also pancake tit syndrome. I may look a bit melted candle naked, but I look fine in clothes.

Being slim hasn’t made me happy. But it has made me feel acceptance in myself.

Thabk you to everyone here, whether I know you from the FB group or not. My MJ tribe. ❤️

Femeia · 25/08/2024 21:03

Aww @FlappyFish you have done so brilliantly! I'm similar in that I'm looking a lot better in clothes but naked is not a great look!

NSVs - way back on an early thread I said I wanted to be able to take off my wedding and engagement rings - I can now do this easily without even lubricating my finer. Considering I was 10 stone when I got married, the rings are petite so I'm very pleased even if I'm more than 2 stone heavier still.

I'm also happy to be in photos now eg when we were on holiday I felt fine to be in photos, whereas for years I always said I'd take the photos and did whatever I could not to be in them.

Also on holiday I didn't mind the short walk from the house to the beach in just my swimsuit whereas in other years I'd never have done that.

For the first time forever I've bought some pretty flowery dresses (well I had some for my honeymoon 27 years ago at 10 stone) and feel happy to wear them. On holiday there was a live band in a bar and I went up to dance a few times and didn't feel like the fat person that people looked at and pitied.

And a shallow one - met up with some friends recently where I always used to be the fat one, and now I'm one of the skinnier ones!

Femeia · 25/08/2024 21:06

Oh and another one, my BP is FINALLY at a normal level. I started all this (firstly my own willpower and then MJ) due to having dangerously high BP and have been put on medication, having lots of tests etc and I'm seeing my consultant in 2 weeks and can't wait to tell him.

FlappyFish · 25/08/2024 21:52

That’s great news on the BP. I need to get mine done. It was the higher end of normal last time I checked.

I know what you mean about being one of the slimmer ones. It’s bizarre to me and only when I see photos.

izzy2076 · 26/08/2024 07:14

@FlappyFish this is so good to hear!!!

I love these stories!

I'm currently doing the mental gymnastics about who to tell who not to tell as it's very obvious that I've lost a lot of weight. I feel I'm letting down menopausal women/people who are obese by saying I just 'ate less moved more.' as we all know that BS. I have a terrible poker face too. I just find the idea of having to justify it too tiring too. Oh well. Nobody's business. I also feel that I would get judged for not being overweight enough. My BMI was 31 on a good day, 33 on a bad one. I knew at my age, it was only going to get worse. Plus I have a history of obesity. There are some complicated feelings around weight loss for sure! Like I can't quite let myself feel pleased with myself that I've lost 20 kg...
