Hi all,

Thought I would start a thread for those that started quite early on and would like a space to chat with others that started around the same time. Like the threads that are dedicated to those starting in May, June, July etc thought it would be nice to have a space for people have have been on for similar amount of time.

That was really helpful to think of the loss as a %. I worked mine out -24%!

im also pleased to discover I am overweight but no longer obese.

i don’t see it through. I see it on my face but not my body. This is partly because my clothes are all a bit big and hiding my changing shape and partly because I have spent 35 years avoiding looking at myself.

I need to develop some body image so I can notice when the weight creeps back on, don’t I?

NSV, I ran to flag down a cab last night. Spontaneously. For quite a while. Didn’t even realise I’d done it until I got home.

Wonkypictureframe · 20/08/2024 05:45

Wow! Well done, everyone. I’m so impressed.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 20/08/2024 09:15

I've dropped almost a pound overnight taking me to exactly 5st loss 🎉🎉🎉
That's 31.6% of my body weight.

Didn't think I'd get this far in just under 6 months.

bouper · 20/08/2024 09:35

@PissedOffNeighbour22 -That's amazing, well done.
After losing at a snails pace, I had lost 3lbs in a week when I weighed on Saturday (and have lost another 1lb this morning). It took me 9 weeks to go from 14st to 13st 7, and after hovering there for a couple of weeks it has taken me just over a week to get down to 13st 2! Proof that weight loss is not linear.
I know the scales aren't everything, but I can't wait to see 12 on the scale. I have t been there since before DS2 was born and he's almost 14.
I'm short, so although I've lost over 10% of my body weight, I am still fat. I've been visiting family, who in the past are always very vocal about weight loss/gains but as yet no one has commented. I do have 2 friends who have noticed - when one asked a couple of weeks ago how long I had been dieting and I said 19 weeks for 21lbs she suggested I try weight loss jabs to speed it up!
It's good to hear about people making good progress. I'm 15lbs away from an overweight BMI, and it feels achievable, even if it takes me to Christmas. It will be a big change from last Christmas.

BlackFriYay · 20/08/2024 09:44

Well done on your losses and NSV's, I too have lost 25% of my body weight 🙂

If anybody gets a moment today, would you mind calculating how many clicks 8.5mg would be from a 10mg pen, please? My brain turns to mush where numbers are concerned.

I've felt a bit crap over the past 2 days and suspect the 10mg might be the reason so I want to reduce slightly this week as I've got far too much on to be able to spend another afternoon in bed 😐

51 clicks. 10 divided by 60 multiple by 51 gives you 8.5mg.

Thank you so much Susie 🙂

I've got 2.8lbs left to lose to get me to my goal weight of 9 stone 3lbs.

4 stone 2lbs lost in total and almost 10 BMI points.

MelissaLouRocks · 20/08/2024 10:23

Incredible losses @BlackFriYay and @PissedOffNeighbour22 you should both be very proud of yourselves! 🎉

How are you getting on in prison hospital? Hope you're feeling better as the days go on 🙏

Starting to thanks, I had a great result last night, my CRP is lower than it's been in 3 whole years, which means things are headed in the right direction.

I'd dance a happy dance, but my drips and catheter would fall out. 😂

*For those wondering, C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation/infection.

Wonkypictureframe · 20/08/2024 11:12

You guys are inspirational! And I hope you’re feeling better, @MelissaLouRocks .

I’ve just done the maths and I’ve lost 24%. Can’t believe that.

Now that is wonderful news! I hope that this marks the beginning of the end of all the pain and suffering you've had to go through 🙏

I have P.O.P (mildly at the moment) and your experience prompted me to read up about the mesh scandal and I cannot believe they still perform that surgery. How on earth is that acceptable?

Buffypaws · 20/08/2024 11:29

Hi everyone just checking in as I just saw @ObsidianTree had started the thread.

Started MJ in Feb I think, or maybe March? Was transitioning from Wegovy to MJ - SW in Jan 12 st 2, now 9 st 6, the lightest I have been for ten years, helped along by recent break up. Have 2 full strength pens left then feel like I probably need to lay off as I am now a single income household but pretty much shitting it at how I'll gain back...

Yes, scandal is the word. We received a public apology a few years ago from Matt Hancock, and a promise of a compensation fund, but it's never happend. Lots have died, lots crippled in wheelchairs, marriages/lives/careers destroyed. Left to get by on benefits, that's if you can even get them! You can bet if it was a blokes dangly bits, they wouldn't still be putting it in. 😡

Sorry to hear about the POP, I know that can be awful too. Try to find a functional pelvic physiotherapist, they helped a lot in my early days. 💐

MelissaLouRocks · 20/08/2024 12:10

So well done @Buffypaws!
I'm very sorry to hear of your break up. 💐

Buffypaws · 20/08/2024 12:52

Thanks @MelissaLouRocks
I'll get there!

ObsidianTree · 20/08/2024 13:31

@MelissaLouRocks I sent you a message on Facebook. If you don't get it, can I have your med express refer a friend code. Assuming they are still doing that! Someone I know wants to try MJ and I'm not using MedExpress anymore.

Just catching up now.

Well done for the losses @PissedOffNeighbour22 and @BlackFriYay :)

@MelissaLouRocks glad to hear things are looking better. Hope this is the last time you'll be in hospital for this. Hope you get out soon!

@Buffypaws glad you found us! Hope you're feeling better about your break up as time goes on 😞

Oh shit! I didn't know that med express used influencers to give out codes. I knew curate did.

@ObsidianTree
No I hadn't clocked Medexpress either. It's all a bit odd, as they stopped general discounts first, didnt they (seem to remember they said they weren't allowed to give them out)? but then brought in discounts for introductions/new customers, which is when I moved away. Very suss.

MJqueen · 20/08/2024 15:50

I wonder if Zava will be next?

Might need to use my remaining codes before they are withdrawn!
