It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

Ok, I've done it! I have officially started. It was pretty straightforward apart from I didn't realise you'd have to turn the pen so much to get to the 1. And then I managed to stab myself in the finger when putting the used needle in the sharps bin. 😂

Whoops! Grin

Here's my voy link if anyone wants a discount code, it worked out the cheapest I could find it but that was a while ago so worth checking everywhere again

It makes it £114 at the mo which is actually pretty cheap!

I ordered on Friday and it's been approved so I'm hoping my injection arrives soon. All approved so hopefully it will arrive Tuesday.

ADVICENEEDED987 · 14/07/2024 21:35

Can I ask people how much it costs each month please. I'm really struggling to lose weight since hitting 40 and it's starting to get me down. I have 3 stone to lose and wonder if this might be what I need but I want sure what the monthly cost is.

Thanks and good luck with the weight loss everyone 😀

SilenceInside · 14/07/2024 21:59

@ADVICENEEDED987 the cost of a pen that has 4 doses is around 150 to 200 pounds depending on supplier. So that's the cost for a month, as it's one injection per week. One pen will last you for a month.

Some suppliers will offer discounts if people use your personal referral code, some will stack those discounts so that your next order is significantly discounted.

All lot of people find that they save money on eating less food/snacking/alcohol which can offset the cost as well.

That's really helpful@SilenceInside thank you. That's less than I thought it would be so I will give it some serious thought

Here's a discount code for Voy for 50% off. They have been great with all my questions. Optional to tell your GP.

I'm on day 3 and I can feel its effects already. I'm already thinking ahead to the money I'll save on food. No take aways, a lot less chocolate and less alcohol. Definitely going to give it a good go for as long as I can.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 14/07/2024 23:04

Yes me!! I've been waiting to get back from holiday and it's the big day tomz!!!

ToriMJ · 14/07/2024 23:13

Family member on it, says he's saved so much on takeouts, macd drive through and general groceries that it's paid for itself.

Can I join? I started on Tues. so far had no side effects other than felt a bit sick first day but not sure if that was overthinking! But I’ve had no appetite suppression at all. Am gutted. Hoping the next dose might help

2.5mg had no effect for me, other than introducing the drug to my system as it's supposed to. I had no appetite suppression, and no side effects either. It was disappointing overall though. But food noise quietened down once I took my first 5mg injection. And I'm doing well now. So don't be too despondent.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 15/07/2024 07:26

Just wanted to wish all of those starting today, good luck! My advice would be to read the instructions/watch the videos about how to do prepare the pen (I cocked up my fist!) and be prepared for anything or nothing😁

For anyone looking to start, here’s a Voy code which should get you £85 off your first pen and me a discount on my next. Have found them very easy so far and they sent me new needles when I messed up the first dose and didn’t have enough🤦‍♀️

Andywarholswig · 15/07/2024 07:38

I am starting today, feeling a horrible mix of anxious, guilty, hopeful, nervous and ashamed - I think I am going wait for the kids to go to school and just get on with it…

Omg I feel the same, I'm nervous enough that I've made my stomach swirl about before I've even started.

I did stab myself in the figure as I pushed it in the bin tho 🤣

So I did it too - followed the video on the July thread and it was easy and painless. I had my breakfast and now am sitting at my desk hyper aware of every gurgle or noise my stomach makes 😂
I’m really glad to have others with me! I am starting with a BMI of 33.3 so I have a long way to go.

ToriMJ · 15/07/2024 09:50

Mine is about 36 I think

Wishthiswasntmypost · 15/07/2024 10:15

BMI 33

Injected hour ago. It was straightforward painless and hardest part was shaking off family so I had 5 mins to do it. Honestly never realised how hard it is to get uninterrupted time at home
