It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

It was really easy and didn't feel it.
I did stab myself in the figure as I pushed it in the bin tho 🤣

Glad it wasn't just me 😂

I’m starting the minute it’s in my hands!

HundredMilesAnHour · 15/07/2024 18:06

I took my first dose yesterday lunchtime and despite 6 hours sleep last night, I've been EXHAUSTED all day. Beyond a normal level of tiredness (even with long Covid). I was a bit shaky and felt a bit off this morning at work but feel fine now apart from so so tired.

Had my usual egg on toast for breakfast, then a tiny salad at lunchtime (usually too busy to eat at work) and I've just forced myself to make some chicken tempura (M&S thrown in the oven) for dinner. I don't feel hungry but I don't feel full either. But it's very early days.....

ToriMJ · 15/07/2024 18:16

@HundredMilesAnHour forgot it had a needle on both sides so pushed it into the bin and stabbed my finger. Blush

I do feel shattered tonight. I've just had some chicken and rice. Like a dog on a diet Grin
I seem to read there's a bit of a link between eating processed/spicy/fatty things and then getting worse side effects so I'm going cautiously.
I think I've read too much on Facebook etc and heard too many negatives and now I feel quite nervous about all of it. I wish I'd not filled my head with what ifs, it's not very helpful if you tend to be a bit anxious with health like I do.
Got to focus on positives. My cousin doing great and says he hasn't had any negatives yet so will keep thinking about that.

I am eating a bit later this evening as my daughter has a class, so I will see how I go - but I am TIRED. Probably because I had about 6 beers watching the football last night 😳 I’m going to use this as a chance to go dry for a few weeks before my holiday too

Wishthiswasntmypost · 15/07/2024 19:23

I've been tired but didn't sleep last night so might just be that. I made a healthy meal and didn't eat much but could have eaten more. Then I felt peckish so I had some salted sunflower seeds. Am drinking lots. So far eating meals almost as normal but not having the in-between snacks. Evenings are an issue for me (snack wise)....wish me luck

ToriMJ · 15/07/2024 19:29

Good luck!

I could eat but darent. I guess the results are the same either it's the mounjaro or because I'm too twitched to eat. Silly bastard I am but hopefully will be a slimmer silly bastard.

I DREAM to feel comfortable and agile. I feel like I did when I was heavily pregnant, too heavy to move around easily.

Apparently mj often reduces alcohol intake too. I guess it's all part of that little voice that says mmmm what shall I have next... a little wine and a nibble.

I had a jacket potato for dinner which I didn't finish. I have tried to make sure I'm drinking water/ diluting juice but even that's a task. I'm constantly running to loo for a pee is this normal???

@IReallyNeedThisToWork
Really interesting podcast ep, thanks for the recommendation. If only half of what she says is true, it will be worth the £££!

SallyMcNally · 15/07/2024 21:15

I'm 15 weeks in (and 17kg down) so sorry for gatecrashing your thread but I just wanted to answer your question.

In my experience it helps with everything on your list except maybe eating the wrong stuff. It might make you fancy unhealthy things less but you can still eat them if you want to. I've had a couple of McDonald's pizza etc over the last couple of months. Sometimes you still fancy it, sometimes if you are out you might not have other options. The difference is that you are fuller faster so eat less of it.

I would describe it as eating like my skinny friend. She eats junk when she wants to but unlike me she seems has an off button and will just stop when she's had enough. I feel like I've never really had that natural stop button and could just keep going and going.

All the emotional eating, late night cravings and mindless snacking just seem to melt away, you just don't fancy eating when you are full.

MzHz · 15/07/2024 21:25

I think I need to drink more water, am feeling a bit ick.

just got back from swimming training, swam hard, but was very burpy

MzHz · 15/07/2024 21:26

Yes exactly - this is the one I meant. It's long but worth sticking with it.

gimmemounjaro · 15/07/2024 22:00

Thank you @SallyMcNally that is really good to know

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 15/07/2024 22:09

There's another episode of DOAEO about ozempic with Johann Hari, author of the book 'Magic Pill' which is very interesting too if you're interestedSmile

Wishthiswasntmypost · 15/07/2024 22:33

I've still felt snacky tonight ☹️

I've had a high protein bar and seeds. It's been interesting to look at my behaviour round snacks and the mental chatter I have about rewarding myself

SJLO · 15/07/2024 22:35

I can't believe how much time
I must spend eating and thinking about eating!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 15/07/2024 23:03

Sian we was fine. Just had a Thai curry and shared rice and a small red wine No tummy issues.

I have a ten pence size red
Mark where I injected but apparently that's fairly common. Hope it goes off by morning.

Night all
