Have lost over 3 stone now and about 20 lbs or so from goal

All on 2.5mg. I've chosen not to titrate up

Are you also on HRT or another other hormones?

I'm curious but just juggling HRT doses, worried adding this into the mix maybe tricky.

LadyCrumpet · 07/07/2024 20:40

Ok, no ozempic face here then, does anyone know if there has been any research into whether any brand is worse than another for that?

Ozempic face is generally in very rich people who have already had plastic surgery to look slimmer in their face.

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:51

@blackandwhitestripes I was on HRT last year but wasn't comfortable taking it what with being well over 14 stone. So I decided I'd come off it and focus on trying to lose 5 stone and then go back on it. Exercising more (very simple weights, 3 spin classes a week and 3 swimming sessions a week) and eating better and losing nearly 3.5 stone has made me feel loads better but I will go back on HRT later this year as I'm a believer in the preventative benefits

I am pretty sure there's no issue with taking it whilst on HRT though but I'm only basing that on anecdotal chat and what I've read on here and elsewhere

@hoarahloux Sharon Osbourne springs to mind when you say that. I agree that plastic surgery plus dramatic weight loss isn't going to look great - she says she's under 100 lbs now which is insane really

Fantastic OP!

blackandwhitestripes · 07/07/2024 20:59

You've done amazing!! I'm about 1.5 stone over my ideal weight but since starting HRT it won't budge!

So trying to decide what to do. This really helps.

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 21:02

@blackandwhitestripes I couldn't shift a bloody lb before. But as you probably are fully aware, peri menopause really takes a lot out of you. I would have to nap in the day and sometimes I really struggled to do even 2000 steps across a day

If you fancy it, have a good read and just go for it. You'll have that weight off in a matter of a couple of months and it really gives you a good reset.

I don't want to stay on it much longer however. So my plan is just another 2 pens which takes me to beginning of September and then I will stop

Wow you look absolutely amazing!

Re the comments on Sharon Osborne... Firstly she dropped down to 7 stone and says herself she's severely underweight. Secondly.... She's 71! Please can we leave her alone and except women age and how she looks is perfectly normal for her age.

ssd · 08/07/2024 08:06

Sharon Osborne doesn't look perfectly normal for her age, are you having a laugh? She's had so much surgery etcetera she looks nothing like herself, never mind other 71 year olds

ssd · 08/07/2024 08:10

@SuperBatFace , you do not have a bat face, your face looks fantastic

SuperBatFace · 08/07/2024 10:13

@NewLifter it's ONE very mild and truthful comment made relevantly - not some bullying campaign against her. She does not look anything approaching normal.

@SuperBatFace if you don’t mind me asking, what’s the plan for when you come off it? I mean if you find yourself getting really hungry on your current food for example or feeling how you did before, what would you do then?

ssd · 08/07/2024 17:37

I googled a bit...i dont think i can use this as i take levothyroxine for thyroid issues.

I'm sure we can agree to disagree. You're seeing the images the press want you to see. I've seen her in person and she's fine, but regardless - it's her business. I really hate seeing women criticise how other women look 😞

Especially on a thread that's meant to be celebratory.

You could do a consultation with a pharmacist - my understanding was it's only an issue if there's a history / family history of thyroid cancers. You could find out more by contacting one of the pharmacies that sells the drug.

Musicaltheatremum · 08/07/2024 18:04

Wow your face picture is amazing looks as if you've taken 10 years off. You look in early 40s in the new one. Well done.

SuperBatFace · 08/07/2024 18:05

@EmeraldRoulette I don't know tbh! I'm very aware that most people who lose weight on MJ will more than likely put it back on - that's just a disappointing fact. The body always wants to return back to a 'set point' I think so it'll try and get you to do just that

My plan is to just continue with my exercise - I do quite a bit - and I'll continue tracking what I eat for a while and see how it goes

What I really don't want to do is get into a cycle of hopping on and off this medication.

@SuperBatFace well done, you look amazing!

@ssd it’s not exactly the same as I think your thyroid is underactive, but I take medication for an overactive thyroid & got the all clear to start taking this, so maybe double check with your gp.

i didn’t realise this. I was going to show my overweight friend all of the great threads on here as she’s desperate to lose weight having been big for years. She has Hashimotos though.

MartyFunkhouser · 08/07/2024 18:12

Sharon Osbourne looks extra odd because she’s lost weight making the fillers in her face really prominent.

Anyone that loses a significant amount of weight will have it show in their face.

Sorry for jumping in as I might have missed another thread but how do you start on the medication? Do you have to have it prescribed? All info welcome thank you!

You can buy it privately from several suppliers. I used Voy as they do really good discount codes and the process was very very seamless. You have to have a BMI of over 30 and depending on the supplier provide photos. They prescribe really quickly and then you get your first pen which is 2.5ml dose. You take it once a week for 4 weeks and then you choose to either stay on 2.5ml or go upto 5ml. The 2.5ml is just a lead in dose to get your body used to it so that doesn't work for everyone. Just saw your face before and after, OP.

It’s taken 20 years off you!

SuperBatFace · 08/07/2024 18:24

@Tipster100 have a Google and read up about it and also have a read of the threads here too. You'll then get an idea if it could be for you. How much would you like to lose?

I have always ordered from med express and found them straightforward with no issues. Don't be swayed by using peoples discount codes btw - make your own choice.
