@Tipster100 thanks!
To answer your questions - and in my experience only of course -
Injections are easy. The needle is minuscule and cannot be felt. It only goes beneath the surface a little so no deep veins or anything! Of course I was apprehensive the first time as it's not natural to inject yourself it? But from then on - once I realised it's pain free - not a problem
Not done any blood tests. I last had some done privately with Thriva about 3 years ago and I intend to repeat these once in a normal weight - just to see how my cholesterol and inflammation markers have responded to weight loss
I've lost about 4 stone now and my BMI has reduced from 36.7 (I think it was about this!) to 26.8 - I've got one more stone to go to reach normal weight, which for me is about 10 stone.
I'll then see how I feel. I don't need to be thin or anything like that - I'm not losing weight for a specific holiday or anything (although we go away long haul in November so I'd be lying if I didn't admit to wanting to feel comfortable for that!) but my focus is on trying to improve my health for as long as I can and to feeling fitter and stronger
Tbh, I have no idea if I'll be able to keep the weight off this time. The best predictor of the future is what's happened in the past - and I'm really aware that the majority of people who lose weight put it all back on - plus more. I think your body fights to return to a 'set point weight' and I know that the chances are... it'll go back on
So obvs I don't want this. So I am spending time thinking about how I can be an exception and - this time - keep the weight off
It's really easy to say ' oh I'll just eat less and keep moving more' but I think I need to really think hard about what that looks like for me and what I'll do to make sure it happens
So that's a work in progress!
