Have lost over 3 stone now and about 20 lbs or so from goal

All on 2.5mg. I've chosen not to titrate up

3st is massive weight loss well done OP, are you feeling any health benefits?

FlappyFish · 07/07/2024 19:45

Go you!! I’ve lost the same and the photos are the best reminder of the journey.

CaptainCarrotsBigSword · 07/07/2024 19:46

Blimey OP, that's fantastic!!

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 19:46

@HowDidJudithSurvive thanks! Yes, feeling a lot better. A lot more energy and I am exercising daily and eating a lot better.

How are you getting on with your journey?

Oh I love this thank you for sharing!
I'm due my 3rd shot tomorrow.

moun82 · 07/07/2024 19:50

Also do you mind sharing your starting bmi just for context?

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 19:55

@moun82 how are you getting on with it? It works very well when you work with it I've found.

I've never had real suppression tbh. I could - if I wanted to - eat through the mild suppression that i do have

What it does for me is give me energy, weirdly. And the ability to make better choices

OP posts:
SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 19:57

@moun82 started at a bmi of 36.7 and currently at 28.3

I am short ish though - 5 ft 3 and a bit, so extra pounds really do show on me. My starting weight was 14 stone 12 which is just far far too much for my frame and I'm currently 11 stone 9

I'd like to be 10 stone 4 and see how that looks and feels. I do want to be a normal weight bmi but my focus is more on being strong, healthy and not being fat basically

Wow, congratulations! What size were you in first pic and what size are you now?

First week was amazing, I'm starting at a bmi of 40 so was ecstatic but not hugely surprised to lose 10lb 🙈 the first week, this week I've eaten well but had two days away where I tried to make good choices but after a sneaky weigh in I think I'll be staying the same this week which is pretty disappointing but I'm trying to tell myself this is a long term thing.

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:25

@hoarahloux size 14-16 before, depending on what it was I was wearing

A solid size 12 now. I'm not hung up on sizes particularly but I'd probably like to end up size 10 if I was choosing!

Sunlounger25 · 07/07/2024 20:26

I wish this was me. Just over three months and have only lost 17lbs

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:27

@moun82 it is a long term thing and the weight loss can never be linear. Every other week I go up a lb or 2 and then off it comes again with another couple.

My best tip is to look at the weight loss over a 30 day period. So yes, weight daily or weekly or whatever but focus on the loss every 30 days - and that is when you really see how well you're doing.

ssd · 07/07/2024 20:28

I dont know anything about MJ.

Please could someone explain?

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:29

@Sunlounger25 17 lbs is very decent you know. But I appreciate that we do expect more - it's an expensive thing to be doing.

How much would you like to lose overall?

LadyCrumpet · 07/07/2024 20:30

What's it done to your face though?

Do you have 'ozempic' face?

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:31

@ssd Google will explain better than I ever can but it's a drug called tirzepatide and it controls blood sugars. This leads to potential weight loss and other health gains in those with a bmi of over 30.

SevernWonders · 07/07/2024 20:33

Amazing result, well done.

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:34

@LadyCrumpet oof the dreaded ozempic face! No my face is better. Now i can't show you my entire face of course but I'll scribble out a few bits so you can let me know if I've got the dreaded O face!

I'm 52 btw so not in first flush of youth so take that into account!

That first pic was taken in March for my gym pass. The gym did me so dirty it's unbelievable. Worst photo of me ever!

However I use it as motivation

OP posts:
ssd · 07/07/2024 20:39

Thanks @SuperBatFace i will Google that

EmeraldRoulette · 07/07/2024 20:39

How about side effects? I’m desperate but terrified. I was sure I could do it without but not sure anymore.

LadyCrumpet · 07/07/2024 20:40

Ok, no ozempic face here then, does anyone know if there has been any research into whether any brand is worse than another for that?

SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:42

@EmeraldRoulette I was terrified of the side effects. All I read was people vomiting and feeling really really unwell and that's probably why I've stuck with the lowest dose possible and I won't increase it.

Anyway, not had a single side effect that I can think of. Only more energy and a clearer mind. So honestly, if you do want to do it but fear is holding you back - the high chance is that you'll be just fine.

OP posts:
SuperBatFace · 07/07/2024 20:45

@LadyCrumpet I 'think' Ozempic face is more commonly associated with ozempic itself but it's probably more than likely that losing any significant weight from your face - past a certain age - is going to have an impact in some way.
