@Orangesandlemons77 welcome!
@NewoIkkin brilliant progress!

Today is my weigh-in day too, my current weight is now 116kg or 18st 3lbs, from a starting weight of 139kg or 21st 12lbs. I've lost 51lbs now in total, or 23kg, so I'm pleased to have got through the 50lbs mark. I still have a long way to go, as I need to lose the same again and more, but I'm in it for the long haul.

Thanks for the welcome, that's brilliant! I am enjoying hearing the stories from people who have struggled with their weight for a long time, it is really inspiring. We can do it!

CrazyKats · 27/09/2024 10:05

Checking in! I'm down to 95.2kg from 109kg after 12 weeks on MJ. I'm on my 2nd week of the full 5mg dose. I've now hit my first goal of 95kg so working towards my next goal of 89kg. NSV include being generally quicker 🤣, my PF having more or less gone, bras are looser, knickers are looser, I'm fitting in smaller clothes from previously, much easier to shave my legs and do up my shoes, increased confidence. Bad bits are my boobs have taken a hit, my bras are too big and my bra fitter is closed until November 😭

mmgirish · 27/09/2024 12:18

Hey there,

Just checking in. I'm in week 16 of ozempic. Still on 1mg. Dr didn't want to boost me to 2mg. He thought I was doing fine still on 1mg.
SW - 95.9
CW - 81.8
GW - 64

So overall a 14.1kg loss over 16 weeks. I know some people are losing the weight quicker, but I'm happy with that.

Thelastdietever · 27/09/2024 13:35

Whoop whoop lost 2 that’s 1st 1lb can’t believe it as for months couldn’t lose an ounce thank you everyone for all the posts they do help. Just done the extra 5th dose got 0.8 mls so a little up ready for 5mg next week while on holiday so we will see as I can put on a stone just looking at food

the big bonus is I’m in the 20 st not the 21 st yippee so my bmi is now 48.2 not over 50

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 27/09/2024 16:32

Congratulations @Thelastdietever thats brilliant re your BMI. Hope you get on well on 5mg. I took 3.75 for a few weeks before 5mg and found the jump up fine. All I suffered was a bit of nausea in the morning for a couple of days after injection.
Food noise eliminated. It really is good stuff. I’ve been a yo yo dieter for 30+ years and this is hopefully my last diet ever too.

EternalFatalist · 27/09/2024 18:42

Injection Number 13 this morning - eighth 5mg dose. Weigh-in Number 12:

Start weight: 15 st 8 lbs (BMI = 37.2)
Current weight: 13 st 7 lbs (BMI = 32.4)
Goal weight: 9 st 0 lbs (BMI = 21.5)
Week 1 Loss = 6 lbs
Week 2 Loss = 5 lbs
Week 3 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 4 Loss = 0 lbs
Week 5 Loss = 2 lbs
Week 6 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 7 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 8 Loss = 0 lbs
Week 9 Loss = 2 lbs
Week 10 Loss = 2 lbs
Week 11 Loss = 1 lb
Week 12 Loss = 2 lbs

My only side effect is still constantly feeling cold. The food noise remains quiet, so I've managed to stay in a healthy calorie range that allows for a steady rate of weight loss.

I'm heading on a business trip to the US next week and plan to keep my focus on healthy eating. I don't want to backslide after so much progress.

Wishing everyone a good weekend!

Thehop · 27/09/2024 18:48

Have been recommended this thread, I've just had my second 2.5ml dose last night. Weighed in for the first time this morning.

i have 12 stone to lose and lost 10lb week one

thanks all for sharing your stories. It's really inspiring

BingoWingsOverScotland · 27/09/2024 20:06

I'm away with work at the moment and eating with clients in the evenings, so I'm expecting a wee swing upwards when I get back to my sparkly scales. I want to try to treat it calmly and just "keep on keeping on". I have eaten a lot of fish and salad, but I really don't want to draw attention to myself. Oddly I've noticed people will often pressure a fat woman to eat where they won't with a thin one.

Totally agree that the stories on here are great and really encourage me, so thank you to everyone for sharing theirs!

Anyone here heard of this please? or might be interested. It's an online NHS tier 3 weight management, with an app, my GP said they were long waiting lists but it says could be refereed there and they prescribe the injections on the NHS? Mounjaro not available yet but might be soon.

I've expressed an interest in it, will see what the GP says.

I'm also cold, think I might need to dog out the hot water bottle. there was a chill in the air today though as well, and we have our heating on for the first time. Cold hands and feet in particular.

i started Wegovy in July but when I went to order my second pen I couldn’t get it due to stock levels so chose to switch to Mounjaro. After a 3 week break (in which time I went on holiday) in August to get the wegovy out of my system, I took my first injection of Mounjaro. I am 4 weeks in today and very happy. I can feel that I have lost weight and I can really see it in my face which is lovely. Feels like such a long way to go though and although I have already lost a stone and a half, and head read hundreds of success stories, I’m struggling to believe this will ‘work’ for me since I have failed so many times in the past. Got my fingers crossed though as I need to make a change and for it to stick.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 28/09/2024 06:50

Hi @SammySays i know how you feel being unsuccessful in the past myself many times. I have lost and gained so many times it feels like a never ending battle with food. This feels different having no cravings to go off the rails with eating healthy and heading for crisps chocolate etc. The maintenance worries me but hopefully can do better than I have in the past. You are doing really well.

SammySays · 28/09/2024 08:35

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair thank you! The lack of food noise is an absolute game changer. I have found myself not snacking at all. I was a chocolate biscuit fiend but have very little interest in them the last few weeks. It’s so much easier to resist without that little voice in my head constantly wondering what I can have to nibble on. I am trying to stay in a calorie deficit of 500 each day which works out to about 1700kcal for me and this drug is making it so much easier to stick to it. Very pleased and excited about the next for months!

Darlinghag · 28/09/2024 10:09

So after feeling frustrated last week, this week I have lost 2.4lbs!! 🥳

really pleased. Although I am a but disheartened that yesterday - my food noise was off the scale.

first time since starting taking MJ that i felt like i wanted my old usual nightly junk food routine. It was awful feeling but I mostly overcame it. I ate my calories but kept to my 500 deficit - although i ate an extra sweet thing i would not have ordinarily.

5mg has been a mixed bag for me - days 1-3/4 have been brilliant, then the rest it feels like there’s no MJ at all.

I think I’m going to use my third 5mg dose as normal, and if its the same as other weeks, I will be using the ‘bonus’ dose to add to my 4th 5mg dose to get somewhere between there and 7.5mg, which worked well for me when moving up doses last time.

well done to everyone else!

EliLilly · 28/09/2024 10:22

WI day for me too - it is a 'gain' week. I was 0.9 kg down on Monday but now I am 0.2 kg up. Smack bang mid-cycle so expected - still don't like seeing it though!
Good news is that I've joined the health club and had my gym induction so now I can enter phase two - adding in exercise. I'm also just looking forward to having something else in my life to do.

gimmemounjaro · 28/09/2024 10:33

Weigh day for me today too, after 11 weeks, currently on 7.5mg MJ.

SW: 241.2 lbs, BMI 35.6
CW: 218.1 lbs, BMI 32.2
GW: 154 lbs? 🤷‍♀️

-3 lbs this week
-23.1 lbs in total over 11 weeks and -18.7 in the last 7 weeks (2.5mg not effective for me)

Milestones this week, under 100kg, more than a stone and a half down, the lightest I have been since June 2021 💪

I have one more 7.5mg injection left in this pen and wondering whether to stay at 7.5mg or go up to 10mg. I've lost 5lbs in 2 weeks so far on 7.5mg and don't have any side effects. On previous doses the losses have tapered off through weeks 1-4 of the pen and while that hasn't happened yet on 7.5mg I would be gutted to repeat the dose and have a month of not really losing. Although that might not be such a bad thing.

Anyone any advice? Do people tend to keep increasing for max weight loss until side effects kick in? Or stay on a dose until you stop losing / start gaining? I think I have quite a high tolerance for MJ - never any side effects really and 2.5mg did nothing for me. So my 7.5mg or even 10mg might be like 2.5mg or 5mg for others iykwim. I still have 4.5 stones to lose so many months to go.

WeAllHaveWings · 28/09/2024 13:09

Happy weekly weigh in😁, broke the 40+ lbs milestone & 3st loss today!

End of week 14 (5 x 2.5mg, 9 x 3.75mg)
SW 21st 5lbs BMI 42.8
CW 18st 5lbs BMI 36.8
Losses - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3
Total loss - 3st 0lbs (42lbs), 14%

I💗MJ! Using @RobinEllacotStrike idea of visualising, that is around the weight of an average 5 year old child! 😂

New pen arrives next week another 5mg.

Trigger warning.......about to use the C word............I've put in my Christmas M&S Food To Order this week which got me thinking about Christmas pen deliveries! I have pre ordered my next two pens to arrive in November and then early December (to miss the Christmas rush/parcel delivery nightmares we have pre Christmas) - I got £25 off each of them from Oushk using their current discount code. It meant I had to pay for them now, but at least I know they are paid for and out the way and I can budget rest of Christmas.

Ordered all as 5mg pens, but if I need to change dose I can do that and pay the difference. So that's me covered with orders until end of January!

I wonder if there will be any supply issues in January with a surge due to New Years Resolutions!

Welcome to all the new poster to this thread this week!

@gimmemounjaro I am staying as low as I can while I get suppression. The only reason I moved from 2.5mg to 3.75mg after 5 weeks of the first pen was because I originally ordered a starter pack with the 2.5mg/5mg pens and it felt a "waste" not to use some of it. In hindsight, it wasn't a waste if I was still losing on 2.5mg. If I did need to go up a dose mid pen I think now I am on a roll I could keep mostly to my calorie deficit for a short 2-3 weeks if I had to, it is long term I struggle with and need MJ to help with.

I have always thought, if I have a long journey (I expect to be on this for a year or more) racing up the doses was not a good idea as once I hit 15mg there is nowhere else to go. Depending on the price difference you also could buy the 10mg, only use 7.5mg, but the 10mg is there if you need it. It is such an individual decision.

gimmemounjaro · 28/09/2024 13:20

Thanks @WeAllHaveWings that's a good point about hitting 15mg and having nowhere to go, hadn't thought of that. I'll see how this week goes and if still losing well I think I'll try another month on 7.5mg. And keep 10mg in reserve for if/when things slow down or stop.

Rockfordpeach · 28/09/2024 15:57

Hi! Would love to join if I can. I have around 9 stone to lose and purchased mounjaro today 🙈 I've tried every diet under the sun but can't get a handle on myself. It's my birthday on Wednesday and plan to start the following day (if it's arrived) and start a new year focused on improving my life

WeeklyJab · 28/09/2024 16:03

Here on Day One.

SW: 129kg - BMI 47
1st GW: 94kg - BMI 35
2nd GW: 80kg - BMI 30

Once I get to BMI 35 or below I can have an abdominal repair surgery that will be such a relief!
If I get to BMI 30 I’m far more likely to be approved for knee surgery, and even if the NHS won’t do it, I will be an eligible candidate for private surgery at the local hospital.

Here’s to the path to progress 💉

gimmemounjaro · 28/09/2024 16:09

Welcome @Rockfordpeach (happy birthday for Wednesday) and @WeeklyJab, good luck, this is a lovely thread!

Rockfordpeach · 28/09/2024 16:12

Thank you. I'm really worried it won't work for me 🙈

gimmemounjaro · 28/09/2024 16:19

Rockfordpeach · 28/09/2024 16:12

Thank you. I'm really worried it won't work for me 🙈

Don't worry if 2.5mg doesn't do much - it does for some people but I lost 4lbs that first month while others were losing a stone and a half, v dispiriting! But 2.5mg is not supposed to be a therapeutic dose, it's just a stepping stone to 5mg so hang in there. Fingers crossed you lose a lot straight away though obvs! 🤞

EllieJai44 · 28/09/2024 16:23

Just ordered Munjuro to start in about 2 weeks time hopefully!
Starting is about 20st would love to lose 5, I am planning on cutting down massively on portions and upping my exercise, hoping this is going to help!

WeeklyJab · 28/09/2024 17:32

Do you ever wonder who you are without food?

I cook, I bake, I make preserves, I grow fruit and veg… so much of my life is tied up with food. Cooking is my hobby as well as a way to indulge my addiction to loads of food.

Without that, who even am I? Will cooking and gardening and making preserves still be fun? Will I enjoy browsing through cookbooks or eating out?
