Feeling a bit frustrated this week.

Last Saturday, I was 17st 12.7, this week, 17st 12.3. Its been a great week eating wise, consistently in a deficit, getting lots of fluid in and really cut down my diet coke habit.

it is my first week on 5mg, and days 1-3 i had strong suppression, such that i was eating under my usual deficit (500cal normally) by a good chunk - 300-500 extra cals under, just purely due to lack of appetite. Then days 4-6 (today) I’ve not been feeling the suppression at all - although remained in my usual deficit.

I have known since starting I am a slow loser - i’ve only lost a little over half a stone in 5 weeks on it - and i’m fine with that but i really did expect a little boost this week 😭

still, i keep on keeping on, next jab tomorrow night and fingers crossed i benefit on the scales by next week.

Ditto re rings - mine are on a chain round my neck! I've got another ring which has been in a box since the birth of my second child. That will be the ultimate NSV when I get it on!
Not sizing my rings until I have stabilised - too expensive!!

I agree, I was going to have my wedding and engagement ring resized a couple of years ago. So glad I didn't now.

Although my finger seems to have a premantent dent in it from wearing a too small wedding ring for years 😪

It doesn't feel like another week has passed since last Saturdays weigh-in!

End of week 13 and hit 13% body weight lost! Guess 13 isn't that unlucky a number!

End of week 13 (5 x 2.5mg, 8 x 3.75mg)
SW 21st 5lbs BMI 42.8
CW 18st 8lbs BMI 37.2
Losses - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3
Total loss - 2st 11lbs (39lbs), 13%

I have been trying to drink more water this week with a 2L daily target and using an app to track it sending me hourly reminders, but finding it hard to meet that every day - feels like I have a olympic sized pool sloshing about inside me 🌊!

After a bit of searching found my very old Fitbit Alta and it still works! With working from home now and a desk based job the number of steps I am doing is ridiculously low <500 a day (most of them to the loo with all that water! 🙈). I managed to get out for a brisk walk🚶‍♀️‍➡️one lunchtime and 2 nights this week getting it up to 4.5k those days (pants fell down inside jeans during one the walks and had to find somewhere discrete to hoik them back up 😳)

Water and walking are going to be a bit of a focus the next few weeks I think. Little changes.

Such a huge change and you are looking fab at 17st @PrincessPeache - it is a great motivation as I am around 1.5st away from 17st which is my Christmas target weight. 13 weeks to go to lose another 22lbs.

Well done to everyone else! Loving reading about your progress every week and they inspire me to keep on track!

2024christmas · 21/09/2024 20:29

Hello all :-)
Still working on my goals and finally people are noticing! I'm currently on 3 stone and 89kg.
I've had a poor loss over the last two months due to becoming temporarily immobile compared to my usual standards.
Expecting ill have to continue with the Mounjaro and extra two or three months.
I'm getting my head wrapped a little bit with good and bad fruits/veggies etc.
This week I've eaten a lot of tomatoes bell peppers cucumber lettuce doesn't seem to be anything on Google to say I shouldn't but anybody know anything?
I haven't been reading the full posts but I have the awkward undies too! Tbh though even when I was 11 stone a decade ago my pants were only a size 16 when I was a 12 everywhere else and upto just under 17 stone I only wore 18s pants are odd!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 21/09/2024 21:50

Haven't posted in a while but I've now lost a third of my body weight. I've lost 34% which is 5st 5lb.
I need to lose another half stone to hit bmi 25.

WeAllHaveWings · 21/09/2024 22:43

@PissedOffNeighbour22 🤩. Amazing. You must feel so much better without that extra weight! Gives us all inspiration to keep going!

That is epic! Massive well done, what an inspiration

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 22/09/2024 07:39

@PissedOffNeighbour22 INCREDIBLE! Well done! It's also reassuring after watching a cloud pharmacy TikTok in which she said that most people plateau after losing 25%!!

gimmemounjaro · 22/09/2024 10:03

Amazing @PissedOffNeighbour22
Congrats on such a big loss 🙌

gimmemounjaro · 22/09/2024 10:12

Weigh in day yesterday for me -

Currently on my second week of 7.5mg:

SW: 241.2 lbs, BMI 35.6
CW: 221.1 lbs, BMI 32.7
GW: ~160lbs?

  • 2.2 lbs this week and 20.1 lbs overall in 10 weeks (but 2.5mg didn't do anything for me so more like 6 weeks really).

I had a big family celebration dinner the night before weigh in so I had a look this morning, 24hrs later after a more normal day and have lost another 2 lbs 🤷‍♀️
Might need that this week though as I have a stressful work event with a couple of nights away and unable to source my own food.

SecondDesk · 22/09/2024 10:53

Start of week 3 for me. It looks like my weight loss will be slow and steady.

I am always bloated for the first two days. I only weight myself once a week on the morning of my weekly injection.

It is really encouraging to see the success of people that are longer into their journeys.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/09/2024 13:11

Thank you for the supportive messages :)

@IReallyNeedThisToWork the losses have been up and down all the way through, but actually picked up again recently and I was losing 3-4 pounds a week. It's come back down to normal again now.

@WeAllHaveWings it's weird because I don't feel that much different really. I'm much faster in general, takes much less time to walk to the train station now.

What's been the biggest shock for me was realising that I've lost more than the combined weight of my kids. They're 2 and 4 and weigh around 4.5 stones together. I can't lift them together and struggle to lift them one at a time, yet I was carrying more than that weight around on my body without even realising.

When I started, MJ was newly released so I didn't know what to expect and thought I'd be lucky to get 3st off based on the projected losses of 20% max at the time. Honestly, it's the best thing I could have done. It's cost me about £1200 so far but it's so worth it.

RobinEllacotStrike · 22/09/2024 15:35

Feels like things are slowing down a bit and I've not been drinking so much water. So going to refocus on water consumption this week.

SW 123kg
SBMI 40.9
CW 112.2kg

Loss TD - 10.8kg
GW 85kg (this would put me in middle of "overweight BMI" so maybe its an interim goal)
Still to lose to interin GW - 27.2kg.

WeAllHaveWings · 22/09/2024 20:17

Does anyone know if the discount codes you get from ZAVA when someone uses your referral are transferrable?

I don't use ZAVA anymore as I need a provider where I can get a delivery date, but some kind people have been using my referral code I posted ages ago and I no longer use them.

Seems a shame to waste them. Does anyone ordering from ZAVA without a code (not a first time order as you can use a referral code for that) want to try one of my 15% codes to see if it works and gets you some money off?

HippityHoppityhoo · 23/09/2024 14:45

Hello everyone Flowers

Well it's taken me a minute to work out how to post on the app! Wondered if I could join your thread.

I've just placed my order for MJ via mediexpress, seemed to have been considered & Prescribed v quickly and now just waiting on a delivery time

My SW will be c. 295lb (will do another weigh in when I officially start.

Really good to read about everyone's progress on here & support of each other.

I wondered if anyone has found there is a best time of day to do their injection - ie before bed, or leaving a window where you're not too busy for a few days after? Thank you

Darlinghag · 23/09/2024 15:31

@HippityHoppityhoo hi!

i find i prefer to do mine about an hour or two before bed, after i’ve eaten a good meal.

i’m lucky that most of my side effects are some nausea - not too much - and i think sleeping off the early stages of it helps!

day wise, i chose a sunday night, just because i work from home mostly so can manage my job if side effects were to be a little tougher, but in hindsight i would probably have gone for a mid week jab.

i’m only on 5mg, so find the effects tend to wear off by day 6 - and if i havent got big weekend plans out of the house or a distraction, its harder to stick to my deficit!

WeAllHaveWings · 23/09/2024 15:43

Welcome @HippityHoppityhoo !

It will all depend on what side effects you get (no one seems to get the same!) and when they hit you and this might change as you adapt to the medication or go up doses. My side effects are mostly minor so far (touch wood!) so I am a bit flexible with my injections. I usually do sometime on a Saturday morning/afternoon, but now I am more confident with doing the injection and my reactions I would have no qualms about doing on a Saturday night, or even a Friday or Sunday if it was more suitable for me a particular week.

I have had 3 incidents over 12 weeks where I have had a day when I VERY urgently needed to be near to a loo, but they were on different days of the week and probably triggered by something I ate.

A day when you have a couple of days with no special plans might be the best time to inject for the first time (a Friday or Saturday if you work), until you see if you do get side effects. I initially planned to do my first on a Friday but wimped out of the injection! 🙈

RobinEllacotStrike · 23/09/2024 18:23

welcome @HippityHoppityhoo
I'm lucky enough not to have many symptoms yet apart from very mild constipation and today not feeling much like eating at all (2 pens & on bonus dose) - I took my first few jabs in the evening but others have been in the morning. I've not noiced much difference.

Also I was worried about how I would actually physically inject myself, but it is very easy and I never even feel the needle going into my (shrinking) belly - it really is very fine.

Good luck!

HippityHoppityhoo · 23/09/2024 19:10

Thanks for the welcome & your replies.

That's good to know- I was thinking about nighttime as a way to sleep through any nausea and will run look to time it with working from home too, just in case.

I had to inject the anti clotting medicine when I was pregnant with my youngest- I'm hoping if I can get over having to inject a pregnant belly then this should be a little bit easier but we'll see.

I've been exercising pretty regularly for the last 9-12 months, I had problems with my back so have had to have some physio & work around to for a while. It's been great at getting me strong, a bit fitter so I will keep it up for sure but it's the food habits I really need help with so am hoping this will help.

NewbieMJ · 23/09/2024 19:12

This thread is great. 4th injection today of 2.5, and I just did the hard twist and injected the bonus dose - so 5 today for the first time; and have ordered 5mg pen.

I inject on a Monday morning, but today I forgot, so did it this afternoon about 3p.m.

11 pounds down in 3 weeks which I am delighted with

SW: 18 stone 11
CW: 18 stone
Week 1: -6 pounds
Week 2: 0
Week 3: -5 pounds

I'm doing keto - eating twice a day. It is so easy to stick to and I am in the zone with it.

Thanks for all the great advice. Glad I didn't get too upset week 2 with no loss, as I felt a bit of a woosh these last few days.

Keep at it everyone, fantastic to read about losses of 4 and 5 stones. Really inspiring when I have such a lot to lose.

EliLilly · 24/09/2024 07:00

That's great @NewbieMJ !

I had 4 weeks of losing almost nothing, then I just started losing again and I've now had 4 weeks of good losses. I would almost certainly have had a major wobble during the non-losing phase if I wasn't on MJ and probably not got to this bit.

Yesterday I decided to give myself the incentive I had planned for when I had lost 3 st...just shy of 2 st! I joined a health club! They've spend a lot of money on it since I was last a member and it is so nice now! Feel like I'm about to start phase 2 of the journey - adding in weight training/exercise.

NewbieMJ · 24/09/2024 09:11

Oh that is absolutely brilliant @EliLilly I agree, I usually become so disappointed at my efforts not being recognised by the scales and it affects my motivation negatively, but this time I just kept going and it showed later on.

I admit to swithering whether I should stay on 2.5 (as it is suiting me fine), but in honestly, I am not getting the suppression that people are talking about, and it seems a natural progression to go up to 5, as recommended. Cost is a factor, so if 5 suits me, I might stay on it for a bit longer, but early days, so we will see.

I really am thrilled so far - it was a passing remark from a friend that said she was on weight loss injections (looks great) and said it was MJ that got me looking into it. I am so grateful for that chat, as I honestly have done the best thing ever for myself.

I think that is a good way of looking at it - second phase incorporating exercise. I know when I am lighter it'll be easier and less of a struggle, and dare I say enjoyable? Your health club sounds great.

Onwards we go lovely losers!

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/09/2024 10:23

I've been enjoying a renewed enthusism for the gym and being 10 kg down is certainly helping. I've been a member for a while but apart from the odd yoga class or swim I've not been going regularly for .... lets just say an embarassing lenght of time. I had paid up for a year in advance and then joined a sea sauna. So instead of going to the gym I got into more post sea swim saunas and my gym membership fell redundant.

But now I seem to have the time/inclination for both sea swins & gym. The sea swim is therapy, and the post sea swim sauna is social, but the gym is more purposeful exercise. I've been going to classes - yoga, pilates, speed yoga, circuit training etc. As my strength and confidence builds I'd like to do some more strength training twice a week. I seem to be finding ways to incorporate both & the self care feels are strong.

Plus since taking MJ I've stopped biting my nails and they have now grown of their own accord for the first time ever really. I have to file them!! they look so nice and I get an extraordinarly amount of enjoyment from them - just plain nails, still weak and split - nothing fancy. But they aren't bitten and horrible looking & I feel so good not nail biting. At 57 I feel pleasently "grown up"

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/09/2024 14:27

this YT interview is a fascinating discussion about GLP1's and other results/effects of these medications - worth a watch.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 25/09/2024 10:40

@HippityHoppityhoo I had to administer daily Fragmin injections for a while after both of my births and find Mounjaro much easier. It's less frequent for one thing, but also the needle is much finer and gentler. I had a lot of bruising from the Fragmin and have had none from MJ.
