@BingoWingsOverScotland ha well the nausea has eased off today, so i think its ok to celebrate haha!

i feel a lot better, and slept pretty well too after a couple of nights struggling a bit. Still got suppression today so far though.

i’m having to think about food in a different way now! I am off for an early dinner later today with a friend and I’ve typically been skipping breakfast because I don’t feel like it, and having lunch, but I know if I do that I won’t want my dinner out! It’s so weird not just want all the food, and to not crave my late night sweet things!

even when in a deficit pre-mj, i had a terrible habit of stockpiling calories for a bunch of sweet things of an evening, and using every calorie to maximise what i have. I havent felt this need for about a week and a half - since 3.75mg. Bizarre to me!!

Ghilliedu · 18/09/2024 09:29

@gimmemounjaro Im definitely feeling snacky on 7.5 too. Suppression on day 1 and a bit of nausea but now I’m out of that I just want to eat all the savoury snacks.

Me too, all the crisps and cheese 😬

Strange how some doses affect you differently - I did great on 5mg but it tapered off as the four weeks went by so I thought 7.5mg might be the one where I get consistent loss across the month and don't get too used to it. Might even put weight on at this rate!

Ghilliedu · 18/09/2024 13:36

@gimmemounjaro I didn’t do that well on 5 either. Lost 4lbs in the 5 weeks I was on it! I had high hopes that 7.5 would be my dose. Hopefully gets better as it builds up, in the mean time my willpower is being tested!

Afternoon,

I've been working out where I am at with some goals.

I started out with a BMI of 52.7, weighing at 129.9kg.

As of today, I weigh 122.6kg and have a BMI of 49.7.

I'm more then happy with this and even though my BMI is still classed as very high/severely obese, it spurs me on even more.

I've decided on my first goal weight and have made a list of mini ways I might reach these, to keep me motivated. I.e.

  • 1st 10% weight loss
  • 1st stone loss
  • Every 7lb loss (financial incentive here to save up for something I'd like)

Those are just some of the things I have set out to do. It helps by keeping a record and seeing things in different ways rather then focusing on just a number.

CLEO42 · 18/09/2024 22:07

Evening’ all
I havent posted for a while after finding that 5mg had no impact on me at all. But I persevered with my eye on the long game and have dutifully finished the 5mg month and took my first 7.5 tonight.

Fingers crossed this is the dose for me

Start: 109kg
5x 2.5 : 104kg
4 x 5 : 104kg

BingoWingsOverScotland · 19/09/2024 10:25

So, first 5mg last night. So far, so good - I feel so lucky that so far I've not felt ill effects. I've not slept well the last few nights, after a couple of weeks of much better sleeps, but that's pretty normal for me. I stood on the scales and weighed in at 99.8kg - first time I've been in double figures for kgs for quite a few years, definitely one for the milestone list. That was quite a whoosh so now I'm trying to think it's going to yo-yo around there for a couple of weeks probably.

It's like others have said though, the MJ just allows you to plod on. I'm so happy I found it, and also this thread, it's helped me so much, thank you to everyone on here.

congratulations getting into double figures BINGO!!

Smashing those targets.

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/09/2024 11:03

In my never ending quest to drink more water, I got some giant glasses from Lidl last weekend - they hold 600 mls but look super pretty (not like pink glasses).

My teenage daughters (fans of tall drinks) love them, and it really is helping me drink more. I had a large insulated mug water thing but I'm not a fan of drinking through a straw.

BingoWingsOverScotland · 19/09/2024 11:18

I'm much more basic and just have pint glasses dotted around! And I know they advise against fizzy drinks but I REFUSE to give up diet coke, for now at least. I might try getting the one with no caffeine, but....

Darlinghag · 19/09/2024 13:42

@BingoWingsOverScotland funny you mention the DC - i am an excessive drinker and never could shift the habit but since moving off 2.5mg my appetite for it has totally decreased! Down to 1 can a day for the most part!

day 4 of 5mg and i feel hungrier today. Not craving junk tho, in fact, i don’t crave anything i just am hungry with a ‘meh’ attitude to everything offered!!

Doobi · 19/09/2024 14:46

Afternoon!

I've spent some time this morning looking at apps like MFP that I used years ago and was surprised to see I had weights logged back to 2012.. 12 years wow. That's gone fast.

I was able to see my lowest weight compared to my highest and also saw a pattern of weight gain from when I first started medication for my mental health.

My lowest weight was 79.4kg/175lb/12st 7lb on the 12/06/2013.

My highest weight was 136.6kg/300lb/21st 6lb on 09/05/2023.

So in 10 years I've put on near enough 57kg/126lb/9st..

I'm shocked and quite upset at that.

As I said above, a lot of the weight is due to some of my medication. If I were to stop this, it would jeopardise my mental health. The pros outweigh the cons. It's given me food for thought though.

Anyhow, as of today, I now weigh the lightest I've been in 2 years 4 months (122kg).

My next goal is to get to 118kg- last time I was that weight was October 2021 at my friend's wedding.

Baby steps..

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/09/2024 23:19

My MFP goes back to 2011 - a few months after the birth of my 2nd & last child.

It's clear why they call it yo yo dieting.

Anyway I've done full circle and once again weigh what I weighed 13 years ago shortly after I had given birth.

Friday weigh-in and I’ve lost 3.2lbs this week, but 1.1lbs of that was literally overnight so doesn’t really feel real? It’s been slow and steady all week then a massive drop 😆

Milestones hit this week (even without that 1.1lbs):

  • 40lbs lost
  • Under 14 stone

Hoping to hit the 3 stone mark next week 🤞🏻 Well done everyone on the losses!

CatTraveler · 20/09/2024 07:53

Second 7.5mg injection this morning,11th injection so I have been on MJ for 10 weeks

SW - 134.7 kg (BMI 49.5)

CW - 122.6kg (BMI 45.03)

Total loss 12.1kg (8.9% of SW)

Mini GW - 110kg (BMI 40.4)
Currently 49% completed

First GW - 80kg (BMI 29.4)
Currently 22.1% completed

I found when I went up from 2.5mg to 5.0mg the supression was massive and I felt "thick headed" the day of injection etc. Last week after my first 7.5mg I didnt feel this and whilst I did eat less and stuck loosly to my calorie target the "supression" I felt before wasnt there.

Today have moved from injecting into my stomach back to my thigh, unfortuately I have not been tracking my injection site so cant remember when I moved to stomach but I read somewhere that moving the site can sometimes make an impact on supression so I felt nothing to loose.

SilenceInside · 20/09/2024 10:23

@NewoIkkin and @CatTraveler congratulations on the losses, it's always good to see other people's progress.

Friday weigh-in time again for me:

SW: 139kg (21st 12lbs)
CW: 118.1kg (18st 8lbs)
GW: 112kg (17st 9lbs) interim goal

Total of 20.9 kg down, or 46lbs, and a loss of 1.5kg/3lbs this week. I have now lost 15% of my starting weight.

I worked out that I had 162 pounds to lose from my starting weight to get to my target weight of 10st 4lbs. Which is quite a shocking amount, more than half my starting weight and the weight of a decent-sized adult woman. As of today, I am 28% of my way to hitting that target.

PonyPatter44 · 20/09/2024 11:20

@SilenceInside that's brilliant, well done.

My first target was 90kg. I hit that about 10 days ago, and I am now working towards my next target of 75kg. I've lost 25% of my starting body weight, which seems quite amazing, written down.

RobinEllacotStrike · 20/09/2024 11:23

Just took my first "bonus dose". The insulin needle looked massive compared to the MJ needles, but it was painless and easy. Still didn't feel it.

It was the last dose in my first 5mg needle

PrincessPeache · 20/09/2024 12:17

Four stone (and 1lb) down today! On week 12 🥰

From 21st 2lbs to 17st 1lb. My next goal is to get to 15st by Christmas!

wow looking incredible @PrincessPeache !!

BingoWingsOverScotland · 20/09/2024 19:20

What a transformation! I hope you're really, REALLY proud of yourself!

oreo2024 · 20/09/2024 20:01

Amazing to read about all the losses. Even the slow ones. Fantastic!
I had stopped my MJ about 3 weeks ago prior a surgery, suspect I relaxed and may have put a couple of lbs on .. back on MJ from today and instantly felt so much happier and in control. I ended with 7.5mg and restarted with 5mg - just felt it was the right amount.
No weighing for me, as my foot is currently non weigh bearing. But hoping to continue this wonderful journey of MJ.
Currently around 96kg, down from 108kg (started mid-May).

Eminybob · 21/09/2024 09:17

Finally broken my plateau and hit 2 milestones today - 4 whole stone lost 😱 and 25% off my starting weight.

1 stone 10lb to go....hoping to get there my Xmas 🤞

CrazyKats · 21/09/2024 09:55

It's amazing that the first thing many of us are commenting on is NSV with knickers.

I'm in the 95kg category, only just at 95.9 but will take that. This means I will definitely hit my target of 95kg for when I go abroad in a month. Almost 14kg lost since the start of July. Not one person has said anything 🤔

My knickers don't seem to have got the memo that I have lost weight, they still fit fine which is odd, as my favourite pajama bottoms slid straight down when I put them on last night.
My favorite NSV is my beautiful engagement ring now fitting after sitting in a drawer for the last 5 years.

I wouldn't worry that no one has said anything about your loss, I think some people feel it's impolite. Only a handful of people have commented on me after 25kg!

Ditto re rings - mine are on a chain round my neck! I've got another ring which has been in a box since the birth of my second child. That will be the ultimate NSV when I get it on!
Not sizing my rings until I have stabilised - too expensive!!
