Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

@JaneFallow I'm going to move up to 5mg after my 4 weeks on 2.5mg. I'm not going to try to use the leftover liquid in the 2.5mg pen for an additional dose. I do have a holiday in a couple of weeks but I don't want to wait till afterwards. I will have to delay taking the third dose of 5mg a couple of days till I get back home. I don't want to take the pen abroad.

On the topic of photos, esurgery don’t ask for photos and their prices are v competitive. I’ve just ordered my 5mg after taking my 3rd 2.5mg dose on Saturday. I’m down just over 5kg in 2 and a bit weeks, feeling sooo motivated! I have so much energy and I’m eating as cleanly as I think I ever have, with such minimal effort.

I’ve been sooo constipated for 2 weeks, but on Monday I had explosive diarrhea for a solid 24 hours. One extreme to the other!

BamberGirl · 30/07/2024 13:40

I do think it’s paid for itself over the last month simply in the lack of shite I’ve not bought to eat!!

Haha! I was thinking this today too!

JugglingMumma · 30/07/2024 22:30

First weigh in tonight after my first week on 2.5 - I’ve lost 8.5lbs! I can’t quite believe it!

No side affects that I have noticed so far. I did feel ready for the next dose tonight - the suppression didn’t feel quite as strong last night and during the day today as earlier in the week.

i know I can’t expect a loss like this every week but I’m so happy with such a great start.

I have a holiday booked just after my last dose of 2.5 will be due. Not sure how to decide whether to go up to 5 or stick with 2.5. I guess I’ll have more of an idea nearer the time but I’ll be watching this thread for others’ experiences.

Also, possibly a stupid question, are there discount codes you can use to order your second dose? Or are they just first order codes? I’m with Zava.

SW - 13st 9
CW - 13.0 1/2
week 1 - 8.5lbs
Goal - no idea!

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 31/07/2024 07:44

I wish I knew what I was doing right this week, the weight is really coming off now - in weeks 3 and 4, the reverse of what seems like everyone else's experience which is to lose most in the first fortnight and then slow down. I am feeling fewer effects now too, the fatigue has gone thank goodness though I have had a touch of acid reflux.

Is anyone using smart scales? Mine are telling me I'm losing fat rather than muscle, but I don't know how reliable they can be really. I am trying with protein though it's really hard to get enough and I've been doing resistance training and swimming.

This is the most optimistic I've ever felt on a diet. I know there will be stalls ahead and I have a long way to go, but I'm thinking of the clothes I'll be wearing at Christmas or by next summer and for the first time in a long time I feel so confident it will be the case.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 31/07/2024 07:49

Down just over half a pound after a few annoying stubborn days

Shape is changing

Do you lose weight in the order you put it on as that seems to be the case.

User364837 · 31/07/2024 08:09

Actually @WeepingInASunlitRoom i feel similar. Seemed like everyone had big losses in the first couple of weeks and I didn’t but week 3 & 4 really picked up for me too.

User364837 · 31/07/2024 08:10

Maybe the medicine is just building up in our system and doing its thing

diian · 31/07/2024 09:13

Weigh-in Wednesday!

Starting weight 13st 4

2.5mg pen: 4 doses plus bonus dose of 3.3mg
Week 1: 12st 13 (-5lb)
Week 2: 12st 9 (-4lb)
Week 3: 12st 7 (-2lb)
Week 4: No weigh-in (on holiday) No MJ injection whilst away
Week 5: No weigh-in (on holiday)
Week 6: 12st 4 (-3lb)

About to start my 5mg pen.

Total weight loss on 2.5mg pen: 1 stone in 6 weeks with a 2 week holiday in Asia!

Lumirubin · 31/07/2024 10:51

For those worried about symptoms on 5mg pen. I had quite bad diarrhoea twice on the 2.5mg pen but havent had any yet on 5mg and I've had 2 doses, although I've been eating better in an attempt to avoid it! I've had a local site reaction to the jab again, but it's just as irritating as a bug bite so not really bothering me. The fatigue from the 5mg is definitely ramped up, and a bit more nausea, but all in all I've been fine. Didn't step up to 5, just went straight from 2.5mg

Anyone have any discount codes for
Zava?

Aworldofmyown · 31/07/2024 15:01

So, I ordered my 5mg pen, which is due to arrive today. I thought I would have a go at forcing the 5th dose from my current pen. It worked well. I only needed a firm pressure to turn it round to 1. It's definitely worth trying!
I didn't fancy the whole insulin needle thing and would have moved on to my new pen if it hadn't worked.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 31/07/2024 15:30

Waiting for my first pen to arrive 😬
Hi everyone!
How on earth will I fit in 100g of protein a day?!

HereIfYouNeedMe · 31/07/2024 15:31

@JugglingMumma that's amazing!! 👏🏼

MounjaroMunchie · 31/07/2024 15:43

The 100g daily protein requirement is a bit of a myth. Yes, if you're losing weight rapidly, a diet higher in protein will help to prevent muscle and hair loss, to an extent. There are lots of different calculators out there relating to protein needs, but there is no magic, suits-all figure.

Some excellent losses on here 😀

HereIfYouNeedMe · 31/07/2024 16:48

Thank you, @MounjaroMunchie. My hair went so thin when I did the one2one diet and dreading it happening again 😣

So did you just attach one of the needles as normal and use the pen in the usual way? I’m not keen on using insulin needles either! But would try this if it’s easy enough

Yes, I just used it as normal. There was a small resistance at the start of turning but then fine.

gimmemounjaro · 31/07/2024 17:55

I wish I could do this but my pen only came with four needles Confused

Perfect thanks will try that when I’m at that stage!

Mine too, from previous weight loss. I try to hit about 75-80g protein each day (ideally from whole foods, but I do use clear whey drinks as well) and I also take biotin supplements daily, don't know if you've tried those before? Good for hair, skin and nails in general.

Summerheels · 31/07/2024 18:10

I find the protein thing interesting as to keep within my calorie allowance on MFP I’m eating around 80g of protein a day. I hit this easily with yogurt & nuts or Eggs & bacon for breakfast, chicken salad at lunch, a GetPro yogurt for snack, plus dinner has been whilst it’s hot often the same as lunch or fritarta or a variation on meat n salad or veg. Minimal carbs and I’m GF so don’t eat bread or pasta anyway.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 31/07/2024 18:23

@MounjaroMunchie thanks for the advice, I have actually got some biotin so I'll start those again. I'll get some protein powder. Have you noticed any hair loss with this?
