Mounjaro July 2024

Lumirubin · 20/06/2024 19:20

Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

@NewLifter I've had the same gut feeling! I have ordered my 5mg pen with that option in mind. My third 2.5 is due tomorrow (actually looking forward to it, I've been super hungry today!) and I will use whatever I can get out of the bonus dose as a buffer between 2.5mg and 5mg for my fifth jab.

I don't weigh daily, but I was pleased to see 12st dead on the scales this morning, meaning half a stone has gone in 1.5 weeks. Really hoping to see something in the 11s on my official Saturday weigh in! 🤞

Thank you for the reassurance! I need to lose 2 stone, but would be happy with 1 stone tbh. But not 1 stone in 7 months 🤣

I’d stick with the prescribed doses, you could get got hit with side effects if you jump up and beyond that there is emerging evidence that keeping on lower doses and tapering off later is better long term - in short I’m a fan of slow and steady. If you think the appetite suppression isn’t kicking in personally I think cutting to 5 day gaps is better than upping the dose

And I’ve lost 1 and a half stone in 3 months, which I’m very happy about

Hi everyone. I hope it's ok to join you. My subscription with Voy has arrived today. I'm going out for a special meal tomorrow so have popped it in the fridge as I want to enjoy the planned meal out. Will I be ok to take it on Friday if I've had a big meal the night before? Do people find it's best to take in morning or before bed? Sorry for all the questions. I'm a bit nervous but pleased I've taken this step.

JessicaPeach · 10/07/2024 22:19

CatOfTheLand · 10/07/2024 19:57

Mine has arrived and I'm going to take the first dose either today or tomorrow.

I was looking at the testimonials on the Voy website and it doesn't feel like the people actually lost that much - one woman lost 1.4 stone in 7 months. Which feels doable WITHOUT spending all this cash on the drug. So a bit worried now

I said similar when I started but someone pointed out to me, and it is true, that it will be the easiest weight you ever lose. So I went into it thinking of that and she was right!

SilenceInside · 10/07/2024 22:36

@Penelopepitstop2306 I don't think it matters if you've had a big meal the night before. I did the first injection in the morning, but I work from home so I knew that I was just going to be at home to cope if there were any side effects. I didn't experience any though.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 10/07/2024 22:37

I've been on Wegovy for 6 weeks and am disappointed with the lack of weight loss despite a massive reduction in food intake. also I'm eating way more healthy foods than before.
So I've switched over to Mounjaro after completing re-assessment. Apparently you have to leave a clear 2 week gap in injecting if changing from one to another but I'm happy to do that. I actually like that Simple Pharmacy who I use ( sorry, I have no discount codes to offer 😉) require a proper detailed health questionnaire including a photo (although I suppose you could cheat if you wanted to ) prior to assessing you. I also like that they inform your GP, as I'm 'assuming' most of us probably haven't told anyone we're using these injections. ( which In a medical emergency I presume they may need to know ).
Feeling positive about this 🤞

Chumpfriend · 10/07/2024 22:46

I wanted to give a little update. I was previously on Wegovy and it really didn’t suit me. Lack of motivation, little weight loss after initial 4lb and feeling generally meh.

Since being on Mounjaro (third injection today) differences are; I haven’t lost as much initial weight but appetite is definitely suppressed, my mood is WAY better.

In fact I feel like it’s been positive. I feel energised, more motivated and happy to settle in and get it done.

Will update but so far, feels like a much better fit for me.

Lumirubin · 10/07/2024 23:01

I can't remember who said it to tag, but I've lost a stone in 2.5 weeks and it's absolutely right that it's the easiest weight I've ever lost!

Had my 3rd injection on Monday and tonight I've eaten a fair amount of pizza! Also no side effects this week so looking forward to upping to 5 the jab after next

Ugh I’ve got some of the dreaded sulphur burps this afternoon/evening for the first time (day 2 of week 2 so did second injection 24 hrs ago).
I really really hope they don’t stick around! I find them hard to manage as I worry they’re really stinky 🤦‍♀️
am in a new ish relationship (8 months) and not shared this with him yet.

moun82 · 11/07/2024 04:54

It would be good I think of people added their bmi when posting losses (I know bmi isn't always a great assessment but just to give some context)
I lost 10lb in the first week which is huge and I was over the moon but my starting bmi was 40!
People seeing my loss might think why didn't I get that but they might be starting at a much smaller frame to me.

Wishthiswasntmypost · 11/07/2024 06:24

About to use your code! Eeeek! So nervous. But ready!

Silvesterthecat · 11/07/2024 10:24

@Wishthiswasntmypost I paid on zava when I wanted a 5mg pen, and as I’d lost a lot of weight on my 2.5mg pen (from VOY) my bmi was literally just under 30 and they refused me and refunded it a few days later. You should be ok as you’re over 30. I even sent them a copy of the packaging for my 2.5mg pen and stated I was already on it but obv computer says no!! I went back to VOY!

yajustneverknow · 11/07/2024 10:24

I'll take me grumpiness back, I've weighed again today, a day early and I'm 3lb down after noticing no difference on Monday. Feeling a lot better. Due second jab tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Anyone thinking of joining, please use my code for 15% off REFCHXKS

User364837 · 11/07/2024 10:29

Like @Lumirubin i think it was, I’ve had some increased gastro side effects after taking 2nd jab on Tuesday early Eve and have had diarrhoea this morning after sulphur burps yesterday. Was feeling a bit low about it but feel a bit better now and hoping it’s short lived as my body adjusts.
i don’t want to replace food noise with nausea and gastro noise!

So zava won't sell to you unless your bmi is over 30? Good to know as I'd planned to switch to them next and mine is 'only' about 28. But as I'm really short I look like a weeble

CatOfTheLand · 11/07/2024 11:01

I've taken my first dose today. It actually didn't hurt at all / barely felt it. Still made my husband inject me though 🤣

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 11/07/2024 11:10

I am just exhausted. Took my first dose on Sunday, great appetite suppression but the fatigue is getting me down a bit now. I need to carry on with my gym routine but it's hard to summon up the wherewithal!

JessicaPeach · 11/07/2024 12:12

@CatOfTheLand I think they will down to bmi of 25 if you've been buying from them all along

Zippitydoodaa · 11/07/2024 12:57

Does anyone know how to use the 5th dose , which seems to be left in syringe

SailorGeri · 11/07/2024 13:06

Did my second dose of MJ on Saturday. Weighing in today I am 7 lbs down in total.
Age 55, peri menopausal, height 5ft 7
SW 14st 6
CW 13st 13

Luckily I've had no side effects so far and my appetite is definitely suppressed. I do eat regular meals but I just have no urge to snack in between. I have taken Ozempic before and had awful side effects. I do feel much better on MJ and very positive. The lack of food noise is really quite incredible.

You can force the pen or buy yourself some 1ml insulin syringes and extract it into one of those

When you say 'force the pen' how exactly do you do this?
