Wow that’s amazing @ChangeEmailAddress well done

colleysmill · 17/09/2024 13:48

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 12/09/2024 16:42

I’m still here too.
@Greentrilby I am also still on 5mg and although I get hungry a little more often not sure about moving up.
Great everyone still around and doing well.
Have lost 59lbs so far in 17 weeks. Been really relaxed way to lose weight. Never felt like my usual fridge-raider self since I started.
@colleysmill Can I ask how the jump was from 5 to 7mg?

I really felt that jump more than the others. I take it on a Tuesday and on the Thursday I was suffering with nausea and cramps, doubled ove . Only for the first week though but it made me wary of going up to the 10mg tbh.

It was the 1st and only time I doubted doing this tbh.

Double whammy this morning - hit 50lb loss and my weight now starts with a 1 rather than a 2 (in stones, I'm very fat!)

That is amazing!! Congratulations!!!!!

After months of noone saying anything I'm now getting lots of comments and too many of "don't lose anymore" even though I'm still 4lbs over the NHS top bracket for normal.

I have however been shopping today and trying things on has been a pleasure rather the previous traumas of nearly getting stuck in stuff. I picked up one item and had to downsize by 2 sizes to find the right fit (this has never happened before!!). I have also had a pair of trousers off a selling site that really didn't fit (the cut and shape rather than the size) and instead of the usual "omg I'm so fat" reaction and abject misery, I actually laughed and went well these aren't for me are they.

Even if I stay the same weight now I think I will be content. Ive kept up my strength training, I eat small amounts of things I really like and enjoy and food doesn't rule my life like it did. I even drink less than i ever have.
I don't feel like the oversized one in groups and happily let people take my photo.

It's been a journey but I'd do it again.

ClonedSquare · 17/09/2024 17:40

Congrats @ChangeEmailAddress, those are fantastic achievements!

And well done everyone else!

10mg is kicking my arse these past two days. I've had tummy trouble since the injection. And today I've had indigestion all day even though all I've eaten is a chicken thigh and a yoghurt, and that was at midday. So weird that I'm having such strong effects now when I had absolutely zero side effects until last week (and that was week 10 on 7.5mg so not reacting to a new dose then!)

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 17/09/2024 19:29

@ClonedSquare so sorry to hear you struggling on 10mg. Hope it settles. Will you maybe drop down ?
Thank you @colleysmill sounds like 7.5mg been rough. I think the increases can be tough. I tried 6mg instead of 5mg which I have been on for 10 or so weeks. It made me badly nauseous for a couple of days. Will probably just carry on with 5mg as I was ok on it but getting a little hungrier. It’s a difficult balancing act. I totally get how you feel with the “don’t lose any more” line. I got that today. Don’t think some people realise what they saying - I still have 5 stone to lose !
Congratulations @ChangeEmailAddress fantastic loss. Well done.

ClonedSquare · 17/09/2024 20:15

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair I would drop down if it became unbearable, but I moved up because the 7.5mg wasn't really working for me (food noise and cravings were back) anymore so I'm very reluctant!

colleysmill · 17/09/2024 20:22

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair
bloody annoying isn't it!!!

Although i get more annoyed when people think jabs are the easy option - it's not, effort is still needed (preaching to the converted here I know!!)

Snipples · 17/09/2024 22:38

@ClonedSquare the same thing happened to me on the equivalent dose of 10mg on wegovy. I felt dreadful and had several vomiting episodes. I could barely eat a thing as I just felt sick. I hadn't really had any side effects before then so it must just be finding the right level for your body. Hope you feel better soon.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 18/09/2024 05:32

@colleysmill Yes it is so annoying when people feel free to comment on your size and move on to tell you not to lose any more weight. You still have a lot to lose but find some people congratulate you on losing weight on one hand only to throw in a negative comment with the other. “You’ll look too thin if you lose any more” … can’t win. Thank goodness I’m losing it for me and my health.

Greentrilby · 19/09/2024 08:47

Morning all, weekly weigh in for me today and I’ve lost a pound.
SW 14st 4 lbs
CW 11st 7lbs
current BMI 26 - was over 33.

im struggling with hair loss and light headedness so have upped my food intake and am taking vitamins to try and sort it out. I just think it will take time for my body to adjust to its new normal and it’s tricky to get the dosage/food balance just right.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 19/09/2024 11:58

Well done @Greentrilby you must be pleased with losses. That’s nearly 3 stone down.

ClonedSquare · 19/09/2024 17:22

@Greentrilby Well done! I've also been experiencing hair loss I think (I've always had fine hair so it's hard to tell really but it feels thinner I think). Going to step it up on the protein front as I was doing really well planning in lots of it early on and have been slacking lately. I'm considering taking biotin but hard to find a pill that actually has a useful amount in it!

Greentrilby · 19/09/2024 18:42

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair thanks, yes I will definitely have a cocktail or two when I reach the three stone marker.

@ClonedSquare ive started taking Perfectil Max for skin, hair and nails which seems a good all rounder. It has biotin but I’ve no idea whether it’s enough or not - what should we be aiming for?

ClonedSquare · 20/09/2024 09:20

@Greentrilby I'll look into perfectil, I think that's easier to get hold of rather than ordering things online. I probably need more of everything in general!

The internet is very vague about how much biotin you need! I've been looking at collagen tablets as well and the internet is clearer about that (ish- anywhere between 2.5 and 15g!) but none of the pills are anywhere near that amount.

Greentrilby · 20/09/2024 10:38

@ClonedSquare its just so confusing isn’t it!

ClonedSquare · 20/09/2024 12:53

@Greentrilby Just went to Boots on my lunch break and they do a Skin, Hair and Nails tablets which are the same as Perfectil and slightly cheaper, if that helps 🙂

Greentrilby · 20/09/2024 14:02

I’ll check them out thanks. I can usually get them on 3 for 2 offer but that’s a great spot. Might see if the actual tablets are smaller as the perfectil ones are huge!

ChangeEmailAddress · 21/09/2024 08:26

Well that's a first! Bloody forgot to take it on Thursday - will do it now - has anyone taken it at 5 day interval or is dose day now Saturday?

ClonedSquare · 21/09/2024 10:39

I had a similar gap between injections when I changed my schedule and I remember checking to make sure it was safe and everything said it was. I think they say as long as there's 3 days between injections it's safe.

Greentrilby · 21/09/2024 13:11

I delayed taking a dose by three days to see what my suppression was and didn’t have any problems. Good luck!

mostlyhalfbaked · 22/09/2024 18:39

Well done @Greentrilby I'll join you in a cocktail or two when I reach 3 stone too. Wine
Broke the 100kg mark this week!
Also NSV, I decided I needed to get some trousers for work, as even the ones that were on the tight side previously were looking weirdly baggy. Turns out I've gone from a size 20-22 to a size 16.

Had my Mums memorial today, and wore a dress I've never been able to get into (charity shop bargain)

I delayed my injection by 3 days this week as I've just gone up to 7.5mg and it's doing the job. Horrid sulphur burps again though, so might take it down a notch next week.

SilverHeels · 23/09/2024 08:32

Morning checking in on the May crew.

I have had a bit of a ‘reset’ after the side effects I had on 10mg. I went down to 5 now have moved up to 7.5mg again. It coincided with a bit of time off work and a social couple of weeks and I have enjoyed it and still feel I have eaten a lot less than I would have pre MJ.

I think a mental reset was required. I am 3 stone down and gone from size 18 to a 14. I am small framed and being a 14 was a goal and I had loads of unworn size 14 clothes that I am enjoying wearing. My reset has made me realise I need to lose more as a 14 is still too big for my frame. I am about 16lb away from the top of ‘normal’ BMI so am going to get my head down and get there. It’s weird how your perception changes as you lose. Being a size 14 was a goal I was unable to achieve for years and now I realise it’s not where I need to be long term.

This losing weight business is an emotional rollercoaster of a journey and for my whole life my weight, self esteem and emotions have been intertwined.

Pinkbendyman · 23/09/2024 10:46

@SilverHeels your post really resonates with me, especially the mental rollercoaster of a journey since May.

I’ve also gone down from a size 18 to a size 14. Another 12 pounds to lose brings me to a healthy BMI.

Having been obese for over 10 years I still can’t believe that I’m so close to a healthy weight. Often, in my head, I still view myself as fat!

QueenGoo · 23/09/2024 12:21

I started 8th may. I hit it hard for the first 12 weeks to lose as much as possible for my holiday at the end of august and have spent the majority of Sept trying to get back into my groove. However..
TODAY I HIT MY 50LB LOSS!
Which I am over the moon about. That's me now two thirds of the way onto my journey. 25lb left to go ! I could potentially lose a bit more on top of that to be in the lower end of 'healthy bmi' but will see how I feel when I'm there!

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 24/09/2024 04:39

Congratulations @QueenGoo brilliant loss.

I’m also struggling @Pinkbendyman @SilverHeels with the changes mentally.
I pick out clothes in shops now that are way too big and agree it takes a mental reset. Probably take me some time to adapt to being a smaller me. Why has my bath gotten bigger 🛀🏼?
