4 weeks down and just started 5mg yesterday. Weighed myself before starting that that and I’ve lost 11lbs in those first four 2.5mg weeks. Definitely feels worth it so far!!

I was in “Obese” BMI category and I’m short, so due to the pounds making more difference because of my height I’m down into “overweight” already with this 11lb loss. Extremely happy with how it’s going.

dandeliondaisy · 14/06/2024 14:31

Hi, I started wegovy 0.25mg, 3 weeks ago. I am due to order my next pen and Medexpress has run out of 0.5mg. They've suggested switching to mounjaro but I didn't think this was advised? Does anyone have any insight?

Greentrilby · 14/06/2024 16:30

@ClonedSquare moving more easily is a great NSV. Well done.

@CoolRanch wow, moving down a category is a tremendous step forward. You must be thrilled.

My NSV today was buying a smaller bra. 😃

Papergirl1968 · 14/06/2024 16:42

i was due to go up to 5mg today but my GP mistakenly prescribed another 2.5 pen and although I raised this with the surgery yesterday, the 5mg hadn’t been signed off yet by the doctor when I rang this afternoon.
i inject on a Friday evening so not wanting to make another trip to the pharmacy later, I asked the pharmacist if it would be ok to take two 2.5 doses.
He said it’s not licensed for that but it’s up to me. So I’m going to. Especially as have definitely been feeling more hungry these last few days.

chrispenrallt1 · 15/06/2024 10:03

Well here we are 3 weeks in and I took the 4 th injection on Thursday. I’m on a girls break so it’s hard to keep giving excuses why I’m not eating much ( too hot) but I’m offering to do the g and ts and mine is sparkling water. I’ve lost 13 lb since 23rd May. No ill effects to speak of. I’m drinking LOADS of water .
I am going to try to get the bonus dose out of the pen this coming Thursday by the hard twist method , pliers at the ready as I didn’t want to travel with a syringe as well as the 2 pens. So if I can’t get the bonus dose out I’ll use the new pen. I’ll be crying at the loss of that bonus dose.

ChangeEmailAddress · 15/06/2024 11:32

Can't quite believe that I'm writing this, but I'm a bit concerned about how much weight I have lost in 5 weeks. I took the first dose on May 9th, and 4 doses more at 2.5 (bonus dose) before taking the first 5mg dose on Thursday night. I've just weighed myself and I've lost at least 22lbs (don't actually have a start weight as got scales 5 days in). I have a lot to lose, way more than most on here and my BMI is still 50.1.

I think that I'm wishing that I'd stayed at 2.5 for a little longer - it's had an insane effect on my impulsion to eat, it's just completely switched off, I've just struggled to drink a crappy Fuel breakfast drink as I can't face eating. Not sure how worried I should be?

ChangeEmailAddress · 15/06/2024 11:36

Hey look, we're now in a shiny new Weight Loss Injection section if anyone else hadn't noticed?

Jibberoo · 15/06/2024 16:44

@ChangeEmailAddress that's amazing well done! As long as you're building new eating habits the weight loss can only be good.

I've just taken my 1st 5mg dose - 2.5 stopped properly working after week 2 and all the food noise and normal eating was back. But I didn't have any side effects. I had a ball ache getting the pen but finally boots came through. I took it a few hours earlier and I've come back from spin and had a couple bits of fruit and that's enough (normally I'd eat a proper meal after a class like that). Hoping this month is better as I've only lost 5lbs over the past 4 weeks (lost 6 but went up a lb yesterday so have to count yesterdays weigh in).

I'm really hoping this works - I'm perimenopausal so weight loss has been such a struggle. I just don't know what's left of this doesn't work. I exercise, intermittent fasting, eat mainly Plant based and limit sugar. Why can't I shift my weight!!! I'm currently 106kg and haven't been below 100 for over 15years! Why is it that some people can eat what they want and others struggle all their lives. I know you all understand this frustration. It just gets to me sometimes that so much of my life is spent struggling with this issue.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. Here's to hope the 5mg will work.

Good luck to everyone, hope the side effects aren't bad this week.

Fromthesidelines · 15/06/2024 17:04

@Jibberoo
I could have written your post except I'm post rather than peri menopausal.
I'm coming up to my 4th 2.5 and not found it's done much but sticking rigidly to a calorie deficit with a small loss.
Hope the 5 has a stronger effect for you.

Jibberoo · 15/06/2024 21:34

Thanks @Fromthesidelines whilst it's not good for either of us it does help knowing I'm not the only drug resistant one here.

So far I can feel a small influence but I still managed to eat a massive salad for dinner then chase it with a chocolate ice cream.

I'm going to see how tomorrow goes - I'm using Wegovy so if might switch to monjaro if this month doesn't go well

Greentrilby · 15/06/2024 23:07

@Jibberoo @Fromthesidelines its very odd how the jab seems to affect people in different ways isn’t it. I can see why you would be disappointed with a slow weight loss when others have lost quicker. I think everyone needs to find their sweet spot of medication which balances a sensible weight loss each week, of say 2lbs, with minimum side effects. You are doing so well to stick with it and I hope your results improve soon.

Oh yes, just noticed. I guess it’s helping those that don’t want to go down the flab jab route.

wondabar · 16/06/2024 03:17

I am very keen to start on this soon but travelling to Thailand in Australia

wondabar · 16/06/2024 03:19

Blooming spellcheck! Travelling to Thailand in August and not sure whether I can travel with 2 weeks worth of injections

Jibberoo · 16/06/2024 13:45

That's for the support @Greentrilby - yes you're right I think part of the disappointment is wanting things to go faster. I am rather impatient. But you are right too that no side effects and a slow weight loss are what I should be aiming for anyway.

@wondabar if take Thailand over the jab any day so enjoy!

Well done @ChangeEmailAddress .
I too have high BMI was 48.5 now 45 so lots to lose too. I’ve lost 21 pounds in 5 weeks and am staying on 2.5mg for 2nd month…just hope it doesn’t wear off as am definitely a bit hungrier last few days. Please let me know how you get on on 5mg . I have 5mg pen waiting but not sure I want more suppression just yet.
You use a lot more calories with higher BMI and it will slow down am sure. I’m so pleased my life isn’t revolving around food 24/7.
This is how non food addicts must feel. It’s so strange after yo-young for 30 years.

Snipples · 16/06/2024 23:03

Checking in.

I took my first dose of 0.5mg yesterday, a couple of days late as I was on a work trip on Thursday and didn't want to chance feeling sick. So far it's been grand and I am feeling less hungry and not able to eat much. Not had any horrible sulphur issues but have been taking peppermint capsules to be on the safe side. I'm 0.8lbs away from 12 stone, and I've not seen my weight start with a 12 in about 9 years so that will be a big milestone.

I haven't been trying to get the bonus doses - I don't have any insulin needles and didn't want to faff about with pliers and all that jazz, but seems a good plan if you can do it.

10lbs down in just over a month which I feel is a good rate. Can really see it off my face and waist/stomach and had others notice which is reassuring.

ClonedSquare · 17/06/2024 12:14

Week 6 weigh in and I've lost 2lbs this week which is less than I'd like but still very happy 😊 Circumstances have meant we've had to eat out several times so not surprising I didn't have a huge loss.

I've just ordered my next pen and planning to stick with 5mg for now. Not because of any awful side effects, just because I've had a lot of appetite suppression these past few weeks so don't feel the need to move up yet. I'll probably go for 7.5mg next time.

Loss this week: 2lbs
Total loss: 20lbs in 6 weeks

Next mini goal: 8lbs away
Next major goal: 18lbs away (target end of September)

Snipples · 17/06/2024 14:51

20lbs in 6 weeks is incredible. Well done! Seriously.

I may have spoken too soon on the lack of dodgy symptoms. Had a bit of a runny tum today, still I suppose that will help with losing more weight.

Also meant to say 0.8lbs off 13 stone and then will see numbers starting with a 12. Not quite there yet although did weigh in bang on 13 today which is good.

ClonedSquare · 17/06/2024 16:10

Well done to you as well Snipples! I can't remember the last time my weight started with a 12 (or even a 13...), it's been at least a decade! Hopefully your symptoms are just brief ones, toilet issues are the worst!

colleysmill · 18/06/2024 07:04

Well chuffed this week 3lb down! 15lb in total over 5 weeks.

CW 11st 6

Ive tweaked the timing I take it this week as I really noticed some side effects on the 5mg so hopefully I've slept through the worst of it. But the confidence I've gained back from what I've lost so far is amazing!!!

Blackcat50 · 18/06/2024 18:55

Managed to miss delivery of my second pen!! It’s currently sat in the DPD warehouse getting warm… 😖
Ordered via Asda, no option to specify a delivery date so messaged them to say no thanks not today as I was in the office, they told me they couldn’t guarantee delivery days despite offering a next day service if approved before 1500 (this was before approval), suggested I ask to collect in store instead so I did (this isn’t an option when ordering), and they approved my order and dispatched it to my home address last night and now it’s back in the warehouse :(

Anyone had any success with redelivery and the ice packs still being somewhat frozen?? Had planned to microdose and only do 4mg until I needed 5 but looks like I may have no choice.

Also any recommendations please for anywhere you can schedule a delivery date please?

Thank you

3wDavid · 19/06/2024 05:47

@Blackcat50 on the other thread I’ve seen a few people suffered missed deliveries, one person up to 4 days later, and the pens were still cold! I wouldn’t fret. It should be fine. But maybe you can also email them/call them to complain? A couple people got a free replacement pen out of it.

Silvesterthecat · 19/06/2024 07:42

Little happy post from me this morning!!

Weigh in day for the end of week 5 today and I’ve lost exactly 1 stone :) and for the first time someone has just asked me if I’ve lost weight :)

Greentrilby · 19/06/2024 08:22

Some nice weight losses for @ClonedSquare @colleysmill @Snipples @CrystaltipsnoAlistair i think a steady 2-3 lbs a week is the way to go.

deliveries are unpredictable aren’t they and it’s so frustrating @blackcat. I switched from Voy to Zava, applied on Thursday and delivered on Saturday which was a surprise and I cancelled a day out to wait for the postie.

We are paying such a lot for this I think being able to select a delivery date isn’t too much to ask. Also Zava only used one ice pack but it was still frozen when it arrived.

@Silvesterthecat well done! A stone off is a great milestone.
