I wonder if the pain you got after prosecco was from wind from the fizz? My worst side effects was very painfully trapped wind on day 2. I had to end my shopping trip with the kids and go home it was that bad.

That could be it actually. Especially as the pain travelled upwards!

Cybele311 · 29/04/2024 09:14

I've lost 11 pounds in 16 days. I can't believe it. I started out counting in kilos, I don't know why, it's so much easier thinking in stones and pounds after a lifetime of doing so.

So I started at 14st 9lbs on April 13th, and just over 2 weeks later, I'm 13st 12lb.
Getting under 14st is huge psychologically, as for several years now I have managed to lose half a stone, and then just put it back on again. Getting under 14st seemed impossible.

At the start of this, I thought ' I will only really know it's working if I can lose more than half a stone'. Now, I'm starting to believe...

And the freedom from constant intrusive thoughts about food is wonderful. As is only putting a very small amount of food on my plate at mealtimes, because I know it's as much as I'll be able to manage. Then I happily watch my husband, who is 6' 2", and not overweight, but loves his food, plough through an enormous plate of food, without having any desire at all to emulate him.

I used to be hungry all the time, and now I just eat what my body actually needs. And then stop, without really thinking about it. It's absolutely brilliant!

Humptydumpty85 · 29/04/2024 10:08

Everyone is doing great, well done!!

I'm on day 5 today. Weighed and I'm 5lbs down which I'm really happy with! I know its probably largely water, I know it'll slow down, but I struggled to even lose 1lb before so it's great for me.

I feel like my appetite is gradually returning and looking forward to Wednesday when I can take my second dose.

QuiltedHippo · 29/04/2024 11:15

I've been doing my 2.5mg doses 6 days apart as I wanted to move my jab day up, and I was getting very hungry from day 4. But for my 4th jab I've felt more in control of that hunger so leaving it the full week this time.

Assume that means it's building up in my system, or it'd be lovely for the future if my blood sugar was a bit more stable and stomach shrinking.

BrendaLee · 29/04/2024 12:09

Does anyone know if medexpress or simply online pharmacy make you tell your GP, or tell your GP themselves?

ThirdStorm · 29/04/2024 12:43

@BrendaLee i think MedExpress send your Gp a letter. I had to give contact details and my consent. I’m expecting that to get filed although I think some people have had calls asking how they are. I’m not expecting that as it’s impossible get an appointment at my surgery!

OldGreyBoots · 29/04/2024 12:59

@BrendaLee I compared quite a few sites, the only one that didn't ask for my GP details was Juniper - I guess it makes sense that they want to keep everyone informed for safety reasonsSmile

Beyondbeliefsometimes · 29/04/2024 13:59

Day 2 of first jab. Yesterday I had some toast and scrambled egg for dinner, I felt extremely full and uncomfortable for ages. I ate my normal size portion so have learnt quickly not to do that. I then didn't want to eat until lunch time today and by that time I was very hungry. I had a slim bagel with egg whites and some bacon medallion and it seems to have been enough. I still could probably eat some of my fruit but I am afraid of then being too full.

I am going to log my meals on myfitnesspal and try to do intermittent fasting and so far I do think this will help. I couldn't understand what people meant when food noise was quite. But I am smelling food, thinking MMM smells good but not wanting to eat it. Sooo strange, never experienced this before.

I am hoping the price of the jabs are offset by the amount I am no longer being spent on junk food and fast food.

giraffetasticc · 29/04/2024 15:17

Yesterday I had my first takeaway since starting MJ because my OH was desperate for one, felt full about halfway through and thought I should stop but kept going regardless.. safe to say I have learnt my lesson as I’ve been feeling so sick all day since 😫I’m due to weigh in and do my next jab of 2.5mg (week 3) tomorrow but I’m so bloated and backed up from the greasy food I feel like it’ll push the scales up and make me feel like I haven’t lost anything!

schoolie258 · 29/04/2024 17:32

I've had a couple of takeaways but I've ended up just getting plain stuff like a chicken kebab (just grilled chicken with naan bread) or from the chip shop I just got breaded fish with no chips.

I went to a cafe the other day, wasn't going to get anything but thought it would be okay to get toast and egg. The egg was fried. It came really greasy and even after dabbing it off with a napkin it tasted horrible and I couldn't eat it. It really made me feel a bit queasy.

I just can't face junk food. I'm totally put off by it

It is so strange how it works isn't it. How it just completely turns your tastes. I definitely wouldn't be brave enough to try a take away just yet. But I am sure I will be craving one soon enough.

Voy didn't ask me but recommended that I inform them

Upinthenightagain · 29/04/2024 21:57

Wondered if anyone had any advice. I tried rybelsus and wegovy last year. I didn’t really lose much weight on them and had awful diarrhoea. I keep reading all these threads about people losing lots and was looking into mounjaro and possibly trying again. During my research I noticed there is an interaction between these weight loss meds and antihistamines. I take an antihistamine for sleep every night as I’m a chronic insomniac. I’m now wondering if this may be why the jabs didn’t work very well for me first time around. Also wondering if anyone here has a similar experience

lastapache · 29/04/2024 22:46

It’s definitely wearing off today, I’m on day 5 and I found the food noise definitely coming back after lunch. I am tracking on MFP and I was worried yesterday that I had eaten two few calories (only 900) so I thought I’d make an effort to get to 1400 today.

Well it wasn’t really an effort at all. It’s strange, how the snacky foods become interesting again. I still ate far less than I would normally, but I feel like I’m on sort of uneven ground here. The weekend was blissful in some ways. I could just get on with doing things instead of “oh I better eat now or I’ll be ravenous in an hour”. I could wait until it was convenient to eat.

This is what my husband is like. He had a late breakfast yesterday, and we were going out for the whole afternoon. When I asked whether he wanted me to add him into the lunch pot he was like “nah, I’m still kinda full from breakfast” with no concern that he wouldn’t eat until 5-6pm. I would have eaten just in case. Now, I can wait - skip the unhealthy quick food - and make myself something healthier later.

i think I’ll be back to “normal” tomorrow. That’s fine - I can’t completely forget what hunger is and I need to get used to making better choices when it turns up.

EmilyTjP · 30/04/2024 06:20

I’m day 3 after my first jab and it’s causing massive anxiety in me. I’m so scared of every ache and pain and feel like my heart is going to stop.
I’m not sure im going to continue with it, the anxiety doesn’t feel worth it.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 30/04/2024 07:10

@EmilyTjP I’m so sorry, that sounds very scary. Do you have a history of anxiety? I only ask because if you are on anxiety medication the absorption is likely to be affected by the jab. The slowing of gastric emptying affects everything, including medicine.

MeAndMounjaro · 30/04/2024 08:06

Mounjaro Wk3 weigh in

Wk1 - 6lbs
Wk2 - 0
Wk3 - 5lbs

SW - 15st8
CW - 14st11
Height 5'6

@EmilyTjP Mounjaro? I don't remember anyone else mentioning this on the longer running thread so is this your usual anxiety amplifying?

QuiltedHippo · 30/04/2024 08:56

Week 3 weigh in - total loss 10lbs. I'm feeling slimmer which feels so quick, previously I've had to lose about 2 stone before getting to that point. Jeans are baggier, face looks more defined.

Last night's jab bounced out before counting to 5, it all went in and pen went back to zero but feel some did come out. Didn't want to risk adding my bonus shot there and then and ending up with 5mg so will see how it goes

QuiltedHippo · 30/04/2024 08:59

Ooh we're date twins @MeAndMounjaro are you planning to move up to 5mg next?

EmilyTjP · 30/04/2024 09:13

Yes Mounjaro. I do have anxiety yes but not currently medicated. I’ve just weighed myself and I’ve lost 4 pounds in 3 days so maybe it is worth it 😬

Cerialkiller · 30/04/2024 09:29

Day 5 for me too and it's definitely wearing off. Food noise isn't back but I'm getting hunger pangs. The thing is I'm kind of used to fasting and skipping meals with IF and keto so it's difficult to know if I'm still being effected by the mj or it's a side effect of how I'm eating it even if I'm in the dieting mindset (because the money I've thrown at it) which is making me feel more in control.

I was planning to delay my next jab by a day or two to space it out a bit but I think now I will take it again on Friday a week after the first.

QuiltedHippo · 30/04/2024 08:59

Yes it's ordered and on its way. I'm not bothering with bonus doses or counting clicks, I just want to do it the way it is meant to be used. So many people report feeling ill when they've had their bonus dose and I feel like there must be something in that!

Will take jab 4 of 2.5mg later today 😊

I was down to 14st1 last summer before yoyo-ing up again to 14st12 before Christmas and then yoyo-ing up again to to my start point so until I see the 13s I won't have that real feeling of a big change but I'm delighted to feel like I'm on that trajectory. I don't think anyone will notice anything significant for a while purely due to being able to wear the same size clothes whilst yoyo-ing mainly between 14st7 and 15st4.

Mounjaro has been amazing forme! I have been on it one month and lost a stone. The food noise has disappeared and I'm able to make healthy food choices!

I have a voy code for 50% off, I have found them fantastic so far.

Thank you! I've just ordered off the link to kick start me.
I lost 4st previously through IF and want to get back to that way of eating but I've gone so far backwards I can't seem to stop.

I need to find out what happens after the first month in terms of cost now but I'll cross that bridge when it comes to it.

The photo I've just uploaded is hideous.
