I have just injected by third 0.25. Lost 11lbs so far and no side effects so far. I do still feel hungry sometimes but I get fuller quicker

Striving4Better · 01/04/2024 08:07

Another 1.2lbs off this week.

A bit of indigestion discomfort has returned. Suspect this is the build up of the drug, even on super low dose (0.37). Will have to see if this continues.

whoathisisheavy · 01/04/2024 16:46

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted an update so it has been good to read about everyone's progress.

I'm currently 12lbs down after 10-and-a-bit weeks. I'm on dose 3 of 1mg now and have been fortunate not to have noticed any real side effects since I started, although to be honest it can be hard to tell thanks to side effects from other medication I'm on. 1mg feels like a bit of a game changer though compared to the smaller doses, I've really (finally) noticed a lack of appetite and even slight nausea sometimes at the prospect of food. I'm coming up to dose 4 this week so I need to decide if I'm going to stay on the 1mg for another month or move up again. I'm tempted to stay as I am, especially with the price hikes on the 1.7mg.

AhBiscuits · 01/04/2024 17:27

Well done @whoathisisheavy
I've just taken my 10th dose of 1mg. I think it's best not to rush through the doses if it's working for you. It's nice to have the option to move up if you need it.

I started Couch to 5k with a local running group tonight. They posted a picture of all of us - I have a chin! When did that happen? I can't stop staring at that photo - it makes me looks like I did 15 years ago when I was thinner, healthier and obviously younger. I don't think it's just because I'm wearing the same running hat.

Had actually planned to start some resistance exercise instead, but c25k was starting now and I felt I should take the opportunity. I need to start the resistance exercise, but also need not to overdo it now that I've started the c25k. Perhaps some beginner Pilates at first.

PrimalLass · 01/04/2024 22:24

That's brilliant. Great motivation - well done.

Gingerlygreen · 01/04/2024 23:26

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted for a while, I'm in a nice routine of just living on Wegovy and not really thinking about it so haven't been checking the thread regularly like i used to, I've just taken my second shot of 1.7mg and am 48lbs down since November.

I need to lose another 1.5 stone, well I want to lose 22lbs to get ṭo a nice round 70lbs loss.

This strength dose has given me quite severe diarrhoea so I'm not sure I'm getting much nutrition from my food, I don't feel ill at all in fact I feel great being so much lighter but it's not very healthy to have the runs daily.

My plan from the beginning was to do 6 months on Wegovy so I'll be stopping when I've finished this pen, I inject every 10 days so that gives me 30 days from now then that's it, it's nice to finish at the end of the month too.
I'd like to lose another 10lbs in that time which seems to be in line with what I'm losing so far.

The time has gone so quickly yet at the beginning it felt like a huge undertaking to allow myself 6 months on Wegovy and although it hasn't been cheap it's been worth every penny.

anoldcharter · 02/04/2024 08:37

Well done joining c25k @Striving4Better and good luck

Wow @Gingerlygreen that's an amazing loss, although the stomach issues are not great, hope it settles soon. Have you got a plan for when you stop wegovy?

End of week 12 today and a 3lb loss so that's 23lbs in total, loosing just under 2lbs a week which is slower than some but I'm happy with that

SW 212
CW 189
GW not sure yet....

Hope everyone had a good Easter bank holiday 😁

Hobsons123 · 02/04/2024 12:47

What's everyone's plans for when they reach their goal / finish Wegovy? Is it possible to take a maintenance dose? I'm worried about my appetite going back up and cravings. I've lost weight so many times and put it back on that I think I need help for life!

AhBiscuits · 02/04/2024 12:50

You can take a maintenance dose but it's currently only licensed in the UK for 2 years of use.

I'm going to start reducing my dose and weaning off soon. I'll be relying on maintaining my current healthy regime. I'm expecting it to be hard and will have to be vigilant about not slippling back.

Financially I can only do six months worth, then it'll be down to my utterly disastrous will power

sallyanne33 · 03/04/2024 02:47

I have just taken my fourth dose of 1mg yesterday but my appetite has returned so I know I’ve over eaten today. Just been up with vomiting and diarrhoea which I could do without at 230am. Feeling fed up.

Flatleak · 03/04/2024 07:13

Late with my Saturday check in as I was away, but another 2 pounds gone. I'm still on 1.7 and not enjoying the fact that if I accidentally tickle my gag reflex in the morning with my toothbrush, there's nothing I can do to stop the vomiting.

But stats. I'm almost 20 weeks in and down 35 pounds. Still only on 1.7 because of strong side effects and will probably stay here. Am looking forward to coming off though so maybe just do another 2 months to hit 170 and then go it alone!

GW - 170 (for now)

PrimalLass · 03/04/2024 09:05

Am already on a total stall despite being really careful with water, macros and calories. Must keep going.

PrimalLass · 03/04/2024 10:03

Also, I'm dead on my feet today. Jabbed yesterday so I guess that is connected.

sallyanne33 · 03/04/2024 10:33

@PrimalLass I stalled for two weeks at 166lbs despite calorie counting and fasting. But I’m suddenly at 163lbs so don’t give up!

USaYwHatNow · 03/04/2024 10:44

Hello everyone,

I've had a quick flick through the threads and am interested to see whether this is something I should look into.

Did anyone have to go to the GP to get started on the wegovy or is it something that you can get online? Or privately?

I've seen some websites that do a quick questionnaire and tell you you've been approved for weight loss drugs, but I'd be keen to have a proper consultation with someone. Has this been other people's experiences too?

Bit lost in the minefield of it all!

Thank you for the reassurance. This is a particular 'set weight point' for me that I've been going up and down from since Christmas 🎅

So annoying. I do 'feel' smaller though.

I just got it online. I'd read quite a lot about it online and I knew I wanted it so just went for it. It does make me feel rubbish but I'm loosing weight without any willpower whatsoever so it's worth it.

UnicornAndSparkles · 03/04/2024 14:53

I'm not sure this is worth it.
Third dose of 0.25 last night. Feel so unwell and queasy today, exhausted and just grim. Have come through COVID a week ago and honestly thinking about giving up wegovy as it just makes me feel so grim.
Lost a few lb and have made healthy changes. Wondering if I can keep those up without the drug and without feeling so sick!
Anyone else give up this early on?
Ideally I've 2 stone + to lose.

Most sites online are just a quick questionnaire to get it. You could see your GP just to talk about whether there's any reason not to take it. You won't be able to get it from your GP though.

I gritted my teeth and powered through but definitely went through spells of wanting to quit, I think a lot of us do. I'm glad I carried on as never feel toooo terrible now. You do adjust.

Had a few days off due to being away for a week, and the last week it was rubbish anyway.
Had my last low dose Tuesday.
I'm in the office, and despite a no hot food at our desks policy, the whole room smells of roast dinner which is so distracting.
That said I picked up a couple of pieces of fruit for breakfast and one is still on my desk uneaten. So I'm hopefully back in the swing of it, will go up half a dose next week.

Best of luck to new starters and all the will power to long termers.

PrimalLass · 04/04/2024 10:20

Finally got past the lb barrier I'd been stuck at. Must not screw it up today in celebration. It just means I'm back where I was at the start of March before my birthday and a work trip.

Onwards and downwards.

DamnItBetsy · 04/04/2024 12:04

I took my first ever 0.25 dose last night. Today I feel so, so tired. Is that normal? Is it a permanent state while on Wegovy?!

Question to those of you who have had side effects. Are they worse at the start of the week just after the injection and then wear off as the week goes on, or do they build and get worse as the week goes on?
