The meds for me have stopped cravings for biccies cake crisps alcohol, general snacking and take aways etc. Re sweet things: I try to go to fruit / fruit salad as a first choice sweet snack/pudding if I get any craving (normally linked to time of the month). When I'm at the time of the month I often have a couple of cubes of a good quality dark chocolate. Another nice pudding is the arla chocolate or caramel protein pudding or a no added sugar protein shake, both are very filling so no chance of wanting to eat anything after having that.
Re carbs: I eat wholegrain oats, bread, pasta.
I do have e.g. special occasion birthday cake / deserts etc but just have a significantly smaller portion than before.
I try to cook quick meals 20-30mins max with low effort (so I don't lose motivation and go for an easy snack rather than proper meal). I use pre prepared/chopped veg and stir-fry packs etc from the supermarket. Or chuck the veg and piece of chicken/fish wrapped in baking paper and foil into the oven to bake as it's super simple to do. I also use the slow cooker - again typically chuck everything in for stew or pot roast with veg/gravy early afternoon and it's all done by the time it's dinner time.
