thanks for asking the question @Hobsons123 as I have been pondering the same thing, I go on holiday in May and don't want to feel so tired and sickly whilst away... be super helpful if you report back and let us know how it goes for you :)

I'll update when I'm back and back on the injections :)

I'm really annoyed. I live in an EU country so I can't buy meds like this online like everyone here seems to do. I've been prescribed by my consultant endocrinologist but no pharmacy has any supply.

I've been on it since January and in that time have only been able to get 0.25 pens which obviously are having no effect on me at this stage.

I feel like I've gone through horrendous side effect (migraines) for months now for nothing because I can't get another pen and have no chance of getting one because the very limited supply is being kept for diabetics. So that's that.

Oohyoudaftbat · 27/03/2024 16:08

Posted this on a separate thread but no replies so far. Could someone tell me how many clicks I need to count to get a 0.5mg dose from a 1mg pen please? I don’t want to go up to 1mg yet as I feel 0.5 is working well for me.
Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, I haven’t had time to read through all the posts in the 3 threads yet.

TotteringByRosie · 27/03/2024 16:12

I've now reached my 1 year anniversary of being on Wegovy (initially Ozempic). So far I've lost 6 stone. I'm up to 1.7mg now as I've only increased dose as and when necessary.

I've never had any adverse side effects but also it doesn't particularly reduce my appetite. I still eat large portions but healthy veg soups, salads and lean proteins. it seems to work on me by giving me enough willpower to make sensible choices and prevent the out-of-control binges and excess unplanned snacking.

jay55 · 27/03/2024 16:40

Week three was rough for me. It was like the opposite effect for a week, food constantly on my mind, hungry, hangry.
Disappointed as the first two weeks were mostly good and I thought woo I might be able to stay at a low dose for a while.
I'm away now, caring for my dad for a few days and so I'll not have my 4th dose today but Monday.

Best of luck alll for chocolate season.

shrinkingbee · 27/03/2024 16:41

Hi All - absolutely over the moon that I started after many months of consideration. I began 3 weeks ago today and have lost 13 pounds in total. The biggest and most freeing thing I've noticed the food noise has gone. I'm no longer finishing the children's dinners, looking for sweet things constantly, I'm happy to have a few chips or a small spoonful of cake instead of inhaling it all in a second. Life changing - I hope it continues. Next month I shall be moving up to the higher dose.

Had anyone experienced severe vomiting with wegovy? Week 2 day 2 and I've just come through COVID so it could be a side effect from that, but having not eaten for about 4h I had a tiny spoon of peanut butter and it all came back up with a vengeance. Tried to have some roast chicken and veg for dinner and had a few bits and again it all came back up. No idea if this is a new symptom of wegovy or if it's COVID still. I've had a negative LFT today (having had a positive one 5 days ago, so I'm pretty certain I've had COVID and come out the other side).

MorphandMindy · 28/03/2024 07:44

@UnicornAndSparkles Not had severe vomiting but I will say that my tendency to vomit is increased if there's something else going on. For example I drank too much at the office Christmas party. Now, I've had hangovers before but I have never thrown up this much in my life. And I do have a sensitive gag reflex and for the last few weeks brushing my teeth has been challenging because if I do trigger it, I AM going to throw up and I can't settle my stomach again. So it sounds to me like Covid is ultimately responsible but Wegovy might be aggravating it.

One week left to go for me, 16kgs/35lbs down and I'm finally within a healthy BMI range. I take my last dose on Saturday to make a total of 20 weeks on this.

My progression was 0.25, 0.5, 0.5, 1mg and 1mg. I haven't needed to increase my dose from 1mg but it's definitely starting to be less effective. But I do want to go back to a life without cramping, fear of food and eating proper meals instead of snacks (I actually found it harder as I went along to eat healthily because I was never hungry enough to cook properly).

Superlambaanana · 28/03/2024 09:09

Ah @AhBiscuits thank you!!

DontLookBakk · 28/03/2024 13:08

Hello everyone
I’ve been on Wegovy since the beginning of January but also doing slimming world at the same time (I like the classes!). But since moving up to 1mg I’m getting some unwanted side effects and wondering if anyone else has experienced them and how they’ve managed?
Most concerning is how I can often feel very lightheaded and a couple of times have definitely fainted (luckily got to the bed in time!). Just wondering if my blood sugars are low.
But also the constipation has been awful on 1mg. There’s part of me that wonders if this also links into the light headiness/fainting.
On a positive note since the beginning of December I’ve lost 2 stone 6lbs and can really feel the difference. Still at least the same to go though!
I’m thinking that I need to halve tonight’s dose and go back down to 0.5mg.
Really would appreciate your thoughts and advice.

starlilly88 · 28/03/2024 16:38

I've had some lightheadedness at times, but I am prone to it, probably due to low blood pressure. Had to drop to floor when I stood up last week in case I fainted. Not had that for a while, so being careful not to stand up too quick

starlilly88 · 28/03/2024 16:42

A quick google suggests semaglutide may reduce blood pressure, so if yours wasn't high in the first place, it may have reduced a bit

EatingTillIDie · 29/03/2024 00:04

I had fainting fits sometimes, does seem to be blood sugar related. Have always had perfect blood sugar to that's a new one for me. Make sure to eat small amounts regularly, don't forget to eat.

My last 1mg was 2 weeks ago. This week has been fun, getting my appetite back. I enjoy food again! No nausea or reflux. Lovely. Still have the awful pneumonia thing so not planning to go back on until after Easter. I am going to enjoy alllllll the eggs :)

Haven't put any weight on this past 2 weeks. Going to start back on 0.25 in a week or two. I really wonder what will happen. Will it be just the same as before, or will it take longer to lose weight this time. Curious!

Also for constipation, someone on here recommended lepicol. It's amazing. I sprinkle a teaspoon on my weetabix every day. If I have more than that WOW my stomach implodes. So go easy!

PrimalLass · 29/03/2024 00:07

Try magnesium citrate for constipation

AhBiscuits · 29/03/2024 06:29

It probably is the wegovy @UnicornAndSparkles
I've only has the odd episode of vomiting myself, but some people do react that way to it. Things usually settle down.

Friday weigh in. Just 0.8lbs off this week but I'm happy with anything that's down 😊

SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 11st 3
GW: 10st 6
Lost: 32.8lbs
To lose: 11lbs

I've got a lot on over Easter socially so I wouldn't be surprised if I stall for a couple of weeks.

Constipation, feeling light headed and weak, also very queasy on the 1mg. I dropped down to .5mg this week (injected Tuesday) and feel much better already.

Possibly a bit more food noise but I'd rather that that all of the above.

somedogsdo · 29/03/2024 12:09

Just done my 2nd dose. Was a day late as didn't want to take it until I'd had a decent BM (not the tiny pebbles I've had all week - sorry if TMI - but constipation has been my main side effect!)
I definitely felt the effects from the off - little desire to eat and just not hungry. Although that did wear off by day 4/5 I would say.
I have lost 2lbs which is quite surprising given the constipation. I thought I would actually put weight on with all the food just sitting inside me!
This week I'm going to try and drink more as I've noticed not only does it take away my desire for food but also my desire to drink so I need to make a conscious effort to get more fluids in - am thinking soups are the way forward.

PrimalLass · 29/03/2024 14:54

Jumping on here after stalking you all through the last two threads. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm on week 2 day 4 of 0.25. I 'only' have 2 stones to lose - which has proved impossible so far - but after reading about the effect this has on insulin I'm convinced this is the answer to my problem. I've always always had blood sugar issues even as a skinny teen.

I am hypothyroid so will have to be careful and plan to stay on 0.25 as long as I can.

Ordered the 0.5 with the bargain code this morning for £95 and plqn to keep at as low a dose is as working.

PrimalLass · 29/03/2024 14:55

somedogsdo let's just say that was my only side effect until today too. Glad I'm not going anywhere!

Hi, where did you get the 0.5 for £95?!

PrimalLass · 29/03/2024 15:30

Med Express. I saw a code on a Mounjaro thread.

It's something like SPRING-BACK.

PrimalLass · 29/03/2024 15:32

Close! Works for Wegovy too.
