I took my first ever 0.25 dose last night. Today I feel so, so tired. Is that normal? Is it a permanent state while on Wegovy?!

Question to those of you who have had side effects. Are they worse at the start of the week just after the injection and then wear off as the week goes on, or do they build and get worse as the week goes on?

Ah I feel much better today!

3rd 0.25 dose on Tuesday night, felt sick and queasy all day Wednesday but much better today.

On we plod!

EatingTillIDie · 04/04/2024 12:32

Well, I have proof it was working and not just my imagination or my own willpower. 3 weeks since I last took 1mg. All I want is to eat ALL THE THINGS.

I have had a full blown binge eating relapse. It is very apparent how disordered my eating was, and the food noise is VERY LOUD indeed.

In the past two days I've eaten several bags of crisps, easter eggs, mini eggs, large meals, too. I eat breakfast at 9 and am hungry and can't concentrate by 11, wanting food.

I'm not sure any kind of long term lifestyle change regime is going to be able to counter this kind of madness in me. I'm somewhat hoping that when I'm actually a weight I'm happy with, there will be more incentive to maintain it. And perhaps my stomach will shrink a bit, or the ability to do exercise will help?

I've made myself feel painfully full and quite sick for two days now. It is completely gross. Cannot wait to get back on it. My cough is getting better but not gone, so I'm giving it at least another week before starting again.

I only feel sick for a day or two. I feel tired all the time.

Thanks for the reply. That’s good re the sickness. Don’t know if I can keep going if I feel tired like this. I have a high pressure job that I need to be ‘on’ for and feel so tired I’m too spaced to work today.

jay55 · 04/04/2024 13:10

For me the acid reflux and burps seem to increase as the week goes on. Not had any nausea.

DamnItBetsy · 04/04/2024 13:42

Does anyone NOT get side effects?

That sounds manageable? Do you feel the benefits are worth it?

somedogsdo · 04/04/2024 16:29

Yes I'm feeling more tired too. I'm hoping it will wear off as I'm already battling fatigue as I have ME. I just feel like I'm constantly having a bad ME day - although it seems to be worse first few days after the injection.

I've read the tiredness can lift after 8 weeks so hanging in there for now as I really need to lose weight and increasing exercise isn't an option for me. I've just done 3rd dose x 0.25mg.

My other side effects are:
Constipation - since I started but having success with lepicol.
Headache - sharp headache which goes 24-48 hrs after injection.
Slight nausea in mornings but nothing I can't manage.

The tiredness is more troubling.

I didn't have any side effects at all on 0.25mg but I didn't have any appetite suppression either.

I have both at a higher dose and it lasts all week long. Very strong gag reflex and exhaustion.

timegoesbysoso · 04/04/2024 21:16

So Bolt pharmacy now gone up in price. £195 for 1mg

Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

AhBiscuits · 04/04/2024 21:19

Health Express is good value if you buy multiple pens at once.

I used the discount code referred to earlier in the thread and got 1.0 from Med Express for £105. Bit of faffing about having to prove my previous prescription elsewhere but it's been despatched today.

PrimalLass · 04/04/2024 21:47

Med Express asked me extra questions and there's something about the first prescription having to be within 6 weeks (mine isn't as I kept chickening out). Hope it's all ok.

I was mad tired this week too. I didn't get that weeks 1 and 2.

Hobsons123 · 04/04/2024 22:48

I'm soooo exhausted. It's just got worse as the weeks have gone on. It feels like I'm wading through treacle :(

witte · 04/04/2024 22:54

I was really struggling with the tiredness on 1mg, so after a frothing I dropped back to .5 and I've injected the dregs of my old pens too. So probably about .65/7. I feel so much better. Bit hungrier but I can cope with that as I'm so less tired than I was.

Just 0.4lbs off this week. I was away for Easter. I'm also away on a short break this weekend and next. It's just going to be damage limitation and getting back to it after the holidays. It's so hard to keep calories low when you are eating out the whole time.

Week 20
SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 11st 2.6
GW: 10st 6
33 2lbs lost, 10.6lbs to go.

hellsbells99 · 05/04/2024 09:13

Still downwards @AhBiscuits so well done.
I am on week 19 and 32lb lost. Weight loss is slower now as was averaging 2lb a week. Not helped by Easter - as a lot of socialising involving eating and drinking and could not deprive myself of an Easter egg.
I still have a lot of weight to lose so am going to be more focused for the next month. I have had 2 weeks on 1.35mg and will stay on that for now.

That's amazing. Really spurring me on as I was a similar start weight and target weight.

I'm on week 6 and lost 6lb but that's including 2 weeks of self sabotage with some awful binges. Feel more in control now I'm on 0.5. I've also finally shifted a cold that's been lingering since Jan so have started exercising as well.

My original plan was 12 weeks and then see if it's worth continuing.

timegoesbysoso · 05/04/2024 12:44

I'm now into my second week of 1mg and this is the first time I'm feeling the appetite suppressant effect tbh. Just incase those starting are struggling.

I've lost about 8-10 pounds but really due to dieting

LeafUsAlone · 05/04/2024 13:40

I've taken my 3rd .25 dose and I'm hoping the symptoms don't get worse for me this week. I have two heavy weeks at work with a few presentations to do.
I've ordered myself some needles so I can use up all of the meds in the pen. I noticed today it says 1.5 on it, and it's supposed to be 4×0.25 doses so there should be at least one extra dose in there, allowing for checking the flow every time - does everyone check the flow every week or just with a new pen?

Was this the spring back code? If so it's expired now, sadly!

Does anyone have a discount code for the 0.5? I need to move up after my last 0.25 dose next week.

Thanks :)

I'm going to bow out of this thread - it's been so, so helpful to read and share experiences here. It's worked very well for me and in 20 weeks I've lost 37lbs. Absolutely delighted with that. I'm about to go shopping for new jeans!

Less delighted with the super-sensitive gag reflex, cramps after eating dinner out, and loss of enjoyment in cooking for myself (and others!). I'm hoping my life lesson from this has been to listen to my body and identify better when I've had enough instead of forcing myself to keep going until I clear my plate.

It looks like someone has already set up a 'life after Wegovy' thread so I'll head over there - hope to see some more of you over there too!

AhBiscuits · 05/04/2024 14:21

Good luck @MorphandMindy
I'll be popping over in a few weeks once I start to taper my dose.
