Down 1lb in a few days so hopefully my head is back in the room! I always gain weight over Christmas no matter how hard I try, so I want to get ahead of it this year.

Iggii · 25/10/2024 09:11

I'm on my second month of 1.7 and seem to be gaining weight ☹️ I can't really blame the medicine I haven't been exercising for a couple of weeks and eating too much in the evening. I'm not getting as full though so will increase the dose next month.

PrimalLass · 25/10/2024 09:20

I split my dose over the week still as I have extra needles. I'm not sure if that helps or not. I've never had a massive appetite suppression with this - for me it's more about my pre-diabetic blood sugar control.

Iggii · 25/10/2024 10:00

Do you test your blood sugar? Just wondering how you know/feel it is working

PrimalLass · 25/10/2024 10:06

No. I've always got very shaky very quickly when hungry though (it's a family trait) - mainly when I've had too many empty carbs. I definitely need to prioritise protein.

I feel far more 'stable' now I'm back jabbing Wegovy!

Iggii · 25/10/2024 10:08

Thanks!

PrimalLass · 25/10/2024 10:27

I was an absolute mess after a few - many three max - 'Tim bits' (doughnut holes) when on holiday, despite a good protein breakfast.

almondmilk123 · 25/10/2024 14:01

@PrimalLass I'm the same - I'm sure I'm pre-diabetic and before Wegovy was always having mini-hypos - wobbly legs, dizzy, etc after certain food (certain supermarket sandwiches were surprisingly deadly - cheap bread made with some kind of cardboard wheat dust?).

I'm on W2 D1 of Wegovy and I am still craving sugar but am trying to use the wegovy as a springboard to avoid it. I feel like if I mistrained my body to continue to crave sugar and be prediabetic on Wegovy I'd really have missed a huge opportunity.

I'm only on .25 still so maybe when the dose goes higher I wont' need to use willpower.

I was reading today that some mums are using weight loss injections to get rid of their baby weight. I find this shocking that women are prepared to use this for vanity reasons, at the risk of harming the babies they are breastfeeding.

lardass88 · 25/10/2024 16:46

Hope you don't mind me posting- long term user of ozempic, switched to Wegovy, have gone up the doses slowly, last week started 1mg, all good... however after a bad day at work I thought I'd have some chippy chips.. big mistake.. today I am suffering with D&V so bad.. ive had to come home from work.I've had the odd D incident of I've eaten something but not this bad. How long will last? The sulphur burps are just horrendous

Welcome. How long did you use ozempic for and why did you change?

I've found I can still eat crap on Wegovy but still on starting dose - hopefully it'll change.

Sorry about your d&v but sounds like you are being penalised for eating something unhealthy so at least there's that!

lardass88 · 25/10/2024 18:12

I started using ozempic a few years ago, lost a stone, then the prices went up so stopped, then Wegovy was released so just thought I'd try that .. since June I've lost a stone, happy with the slow progress but yes... definitely feeling sorry for myself / blaming myself for eating chippy chips 😆

Hello,
I've been lurking prior to first dose over last few weeks. I'm now in week 4 (0.25) and going up to 0.5 on Saturday.

I've had two main side effects - firstly really bad constipation. I have always had slow digestion but didn't realise wegovy slows it even further. I'm now on daily liquid laxatives which are helping a lot. If you are considering starting and are usually quite slow I strongly recommend being on top of regular laxatives.

My second side effect is a delay to the arrival of my period. Again I wasn't expecting this, but apparently semaglitude is a hormone so can impact menstruation. I'm 10 days late now so will see what happens!

Despite only being in week 4 I have dropped 3 kilos (7 pounds), from 81.5k to 78.5k. I'm feeling good and hoping increasing my dose will go okay.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for sharing. It's far less scary knowing we are all in the same boat!

almondmilk123 · 29/10/2024 08:06

Ooh W2 D4 0.25 and I'm really getting the effects. Just no hunger, no real concern for food. Ate sushi rice last night which I bought by mistake - would normally trigger a hypo - nothing. Afterwards thought about biscuits and decided on an orange instead. Woke up this morning with zero hunger.

wiggleweggle · 29/10/2024 10:06

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted but I am continuing with Wegovy (full dose). The weight keeps dropping, I have gone from 111 kilos in January to 88 kilos this morning. Which is fabulous! I will keep going, I would like to get down to 70, (although I would accept 75). Am continuing to apply the Glucose Goddess principles when I do eat and making sure I sleep... when I am tired everything seems to go out of the window!

Thankfully I don't have a sweet tooth but when I have had something overly indulgent, my body has just gone 'nope'. So veg, eggs and meat are my staples.

My side effects (headaches and exhaustion) have all gone now, I think my body is happy on the full dose. I am not in the UK so have it covered by my insurance, I hope that they will continue to do so until I can get down to 70kilos...

PrimalLass · 29/10/2024 10:45

That's absolutely fantastic - well done

PrimalLass · 29/10/2024 10:47

Rather than laxatives I'm now using Biomel, which works far better and is great for the gut. I mix it with Greek yog and protein powder for breakfast.

Thank you for this, I just ordered some biomel and will try this asap. I think the laxatives are stopping the wegovy working as effectively as I'm feeling hungrier again this week .

So far I lost 1.5kilos in week 1, 1 kilo in week 2, then in week 3 I put a kilo on. I feel very bloated, like I'm about to start my period, but I'm now 12 days late. I'm now feeling hungrier on w4d4 and thinking it might be menstrual related....the lack of research on wegovy and women's cycles seems genuinely bizarre!

I'm hoping I will feel less bloated and tired soon, perhaps I might be a 'slow loser'... I only want to lose 5 kilos and had hoped it would be quite quick, but the menstrual craziness seems to have put a spanner in the works!

Any advice very gratefully received. Thank you.

Iggii · 30/10/2024 22:13

I haven't lost any weight in the last 3 weeks, in fact I've gained 2 lbs! I'm a bit worried as I need to reorder and hope they won't refuse to give it to me.

YoghurtPotWashingMachine · 31/10/2024 08:15

I just started yesterday. I feel like I have a pain in my side where the injection site is. Anyone else have this? It's not really painful, I'm just aware of it.

Been burping away and have a decreased appetite and a very mild headache.

what dose are you on?

Iggii · 31/10/2024 17:23

almondmilk123 · 31/10/2024 09:08

what dose are you on?

I'm on 1.7 WG, it's my second month on this dose though. I think I'll move up. I've no side effects on this dose which is good on the one hand, but they were preventing me eating too much!

merrymelodies · 01/11/2024 22:24

I'm on 1.7 too. It works well for 5 days and then my appetite starts to kick in.

almondmilk123 · 02/11/2024 08:37

yeah @Iggii they won't refuse it. Why would they?

I'm on 0.25 and wierdly the appetite suppression is better at the end of the week than the beginning. At the beginning i'm alll wierded out by side effects, and a bit like early pregnancy I will eat to see if that helps. By the end I'm feeling normal but not hungry and can concentrate on calorie deficit.

I alway respond wierdly to every medicine though.

Iggii · 02/11/2024 09:06

Thanks, I've had my order accepted, though the price for the highest dose is eye watering!

I suppose I thought they might not prescribe if there wasn't evidence it was working, but I'll see how the next month goes.
