Has anyone experienced swollen glands? First dose last night, was fine this morning but now my neck, upper back and arm pits feel tender. Had a good day appetite wise and been drinking lots of water.

I have had a bit of a sore throat since starting. I thought it might be dehydration

When I first started I had muscle aches and felt quite uncomfortable but it went away after a week- hopefully yours will too

Mortigua · 24/03/2024 08:44

I’ve had muscle aches . I get them anyway but definitely worse now .
I am about to order my next pen in 5 mg but now worrying a bit about whether I’m ordering from a safe place having read the comments about businesses. Any thoughts on pharmacy 2 u? It all seemed to go ok last time so I’m inclined to stay with them for ease in a way.
I’m not struggling with food much at all , I’m keeping under my calories for the day even with weekend wine but I am not put off wine at all and I wish I was . Well actually it doesn’t taste as nice but the habit is still as hard to break . Maybe this will be easier on 5…

I've had the feeling like I'm about to come down with something...not swollen glands but that niggle that you can sometimes feel them when you swallow. I think it's the thirst.

Re the 7.5mg pen, no supplier has it in stock yet as, if people are taking 4 x 2.5mg and then 4 x 5mg, no one needs the 7.5mg pen till early April.

I don't recall the actual release date of the 2.5mg pen but the first thread here had the first poster taking a dose on 15th Feb. That poster needs to start on 7.5mg on 11th April.

This website is taking 7.5mg orders now and saying they will be delivered at the beginning of April so I would expect other websites to be starting to take 7.5mg orders in the next week or so. I don't think the fact no one has supply yet means there is going to be a supply issue.

@ObsidianTree yeah it’s been widely reported in the press about the eye watering debt Asda is servicing (4billion!) and plummeting profits. Meanwhile Boots has undergone restructuring closing 300 stores (but they are back in the black for now). Superdrug are doing comparatively well.

It’s interesting that Asda and Superdrug share the same prescribing service provider “ZAVA Health Bridge Ltd” so the Drs are the same - they run the service but Asda sends out the medication. But Asda mounjaro starts at £184 and Superdrug is £215.

I did not expect to be seeing analysis of the prescribing companies financial health being posted! Interesting.

I got mine from a small supplier which other posters here have also used and can confirm it's genuine (or it has the most amazing placebo effect!). They seem to operate out of a small business park unit in the UK (I googled their address), have a professional looking website listing their qualifications to prescribe and their license numbers, answered my questions really quickly and well and sent the product in the wool packaging and gel pack like everyone else has reported getting. They were cheaper than the big chains probably because they don't have a countrywide chain of retail sites to pay for and probably no large corporate debt to service.

I think if fake pens were being sold it would likely be people selling them in pubs or gyms and trying to pass them off as 'stolen but genuine goods'. I think the risk of anyone selling fakes via a company's own website is low as they could easily be traced and all the evidence is online for a trial and jail sentence.

If you want to check a pharmacy is legitimate you can search for their registration here: https://www.pharmacyregulation.org/registers/pharmacy

Some of them will also have inspection reports published, but only if they’ve been inspected since 2019 so don’t panic if they don’t have one there yet. You probably need to check if the outfit you’re using is partnering with a different pharmacy provider before you search to avoid panicking if you can’t find them!

I think the biggest risk would be paying for something on a fake site and nothing showing up. This is why I went through Asda/Zava even though its a bit more expensive.

KeepingUndercover · 24/03/2024 10:06

It’s quite interesting looking at some of the older inspection reports for the online pharmacies that they have been criticised previously for not taking adequate care to ensure people getting drugs need them. So that’s why they all want photos now. If you’ve got a website who isn’t asking for much proof of your weight, that looks like it could be a red flag in terms of proper customer care.

For actual fake products that’s way more likely to be in person as has already been said I’d think, or via dodgy Facebook ads pm me for details hun.

Soukmyfalafel · 24/03/2024 10:07

Obsidian thanks for answering my question about when to order the next pen. I think I will do it after my third shot. I do think I will need to go up to 5mg by the end of the four weeks as i had a day of typical eating yesterday (not the portions I'm used to, but not calorie deficit portions either) and I was only in day 3 of this week. I did find at the end of the first week I was able to diet a bit better again, so maybe the effects wax and wane a bit. It was nice to enjoy a normal sized portion of tasty food again, but I do need to get back on the dieting wagon or I'm just wasting money.

I'm getting some nice healthy meal ideas on here which is helping.

I am not having great results in the last week and a half after a great start (one solitary pound off in last 11 days). I've always used my thigh as my injection site, but I have just used my stomach for the first time. Hopefully, that will do the trick!

Must try drinking more water too 😇

NC543210 · 24/03/2024 10:23

First injection tonight.
I'm both nervous and excited.

Ordered some collagen supplements, electrolytes and vitamins which are being delivered tomorrow.

Mortigua · 24/03/2024 10:43

Thanks re pharmacy info . I wasn’t asked for photos but had to fill in a fairly detailed questionnaire and it has suppressed my appetite so sure it’s the real deal and also agree re things just not turning up if it was dodgy .
i will order through them again I think for simplicity .

Mortigua · 24/03/2024 10:46

I’ve bought meal replacements to make sure I’m getting enough nutrients as I’m finding I’m going long periods without eating at times particularly the weekend whne there’s less routine . I need to get into exercise more and just work out what life will look like , basically get back to happier ways and stop being so sedentary , re learn relaxing without the aid of comfort eating and /or alcohol.

CiderJabs · 24/03/2024 10:55

Personally I'm not sure meal replacements are a good idea with the jabs. Feels like a bit of overkill!
I'm trying to use this time to build good habits and reduce my portion size but I still think eating real food is more sustainable.

My biggest worry with this is putting the weight back on and I feel if I starve myself just because it's easily done on the jab, the minute I stop it I'll feel desperte to eat again.

Not criticising you @Mortigua - if it works for you then fair enough! I just feel a different approach is better for me :)

DumpedByText · 24/03/2024 11:05

Hi everyone, I'm seriously considering Mounjaro. Where is the best place to order please and how long does each pen last. Will they prescribe if you have high blood pressure. It's linked to my weight, so I'd hope so.

Choux · 24/03/2024 11:15

So I have been pondering my next injection - it's due Weds and is my 4th 2.5mg injection. I am going away for Easter on Thursday to stay with friends till Monday. I don't think there is any way I can be away so soon after taking the injection and for them to not notice how suppressed my appetite is. (I previously did an injection on a Tuesday and went away with friends - who are big eaters - on the Friday and felt so uncomfortable / constipated on the Saturday that I posted about it here.)

I have learned from that trip to eat more veg, choose something smaller and lighter if eating out, keep fluids up throughout the day etc. but this is staying in someone's house so I will have less choice over what to eat for some meals.

So my injection choices are:
Do it tonight (three days early which the instructions say is fine to do) so that the suppression is starting to wear off as the break goes on. Or
Do it when I get back on Monday which is 5 days late. This may mean I eat more over Easter but my main concern is that I may then experience more side effects when I go up to 5mg a week later.

Am sure opinions will be divided but do other users have any views?

Yes , I think you’re probably right . I have done some yo yo weight loss and gain in recent years which I don’t want to repeat but I do have a bit of a weight loss deadline event which is making me try and do faster work. I have never wanted meal replacements before though as always thought why have my calories like that when I could enjoy food instead so it’s a strange feeling even to be viewing it as fuel if that makes sense !

Hi - I think most places will prescribe it with a BMI of over 27 if you have weight related high blood pressure. What is your BMI?

Where to buy it? I don't think anyone has reported a bad experience from anywhere they have bought it. Some places have been a little slower to approve and dispatch it and there are price differences between sites so check a few out and see which one you prefer. We can advise on our experiences when you have decided where to buy it from.

My BMI is 36, what is the average cost please. I'm just worried I'll spend all that money, stop and pile it all back on!

Personally I'm trying to eat 3 or even 4 small meals per day of healthy, nutritious food to get used to having smaller portions at regular meal times. That will hopefully retrain my eyes, brain and stomach as to what is a portion and then when I stop taking the drug I will have learned how to eat well.

Finding ways to eat as little as possible could mean that when you stop you will go back to your old ways of eating as that's the only way you know how to eat. That risks you putting the weight back on.

If you are worried about nutrients you can buy some vitamins to have alongside your meals.

@Choux I'd go for the 3 days early plan, if it were me, because you'll be going up a dose afterwards. But I'd also be staying on 2.5mg if my appetite was that suppressed still.

Investinmyself · 24/03/2024 12:18

I’d go 3 days early I think too @Choux. Personally though I wouldn’t be pressured into eating unhealthy food.
Eg if you are having a roast have veg not potatoes. If they are pressing fatty or fried stuff you are avoiding it for health issues etc.
